Abstract

Co3O4 microframes are synthesized through a template-engaged strategy via the etching of Co–Co Prussian blue analogue microcubes with ammonia solution and subsequent annealing treatment. Benefitting from their unique structural merits including 3D open structure and high porosity, these Co3O4 microframes exhibit enhanced electrochemical properties for both lithium-ion batteries and water oxidation.

Abstract

We report the design of novel filled CoSb3 skutterudite phases based on a combination of filling and Sb-substituted Ga/In defects. Ga/In doped skutterudite phases with Li-, Nd-, and Sm-fillings can be formed via this strategy, which can have relatively wider ranges of carrier concentration than other conventional filled skutterudite phases.

Abstract

Heteropolyanions, [GaNb18O54](15-) and [AlNb18O54](15-), have been synthesized and characterized. These represent the first examples of introducing group III elements into the heteropolyniobate family; achieved via compatible alkaline aqueous chemistry of group IIIA monomers and Nb-polyoxoanions. The open structure of the polyniobate results in expanded coordination of the tetrahedral Ga in aqueous medium.

Abstract

Refluxing of the o-DCB solution of C60 with CF2ClCOONa and 18-crown-6 leads to formation of C60(CF2)n (n = 1–3); the monoadduct C60(CF2) has been found to consist of the main [6,6]- and minor [5,6]-isomers, both having an open structure.
