Abstract

Single crystals of the salt-inclusion phosphates Na2Mn3 (P2O7)2·CsCl (I), Na2Mn3 (P2O7)2·RbCl (II), Na2Fe3 (P2O7)2·CsCl (III), Na2Fe3 (P2O7)2·RbCl (IV), K2Mn3 (P2O7)2·CsCl (V), and K2Fe3 (P2O7)2·CsCl (VI) are grown in reactive molten chloride flux using e.g. MnO (1.6 mmol) and P4O10 (0.5 mmol) in a RbCl/NaCl eutectic mixture (750 °C, 12 h, controlled cooling; 30-50% yield).
