This article, published in the Chemistry of Natural Compounds journal, explores the use of the OSMAC strategy to enhance the diversity and yield of bioactive compounds from the endophytic fungus Xylaria sp. GDG-102. The fungus was cultivated in a rice medium with monosodium glutamate, resulting in the isolation of nine compounds with antibacterial properties against various bacteria. The article also presents crystal data for one of the compounds, (αR)-3-chloro-α,4-dihydroxybenzeneacetamide, for the first time. The text provides detailed information about the chemical properties of these compounds, including their molecular formulas, physical characteristics, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra. Herein, we report on the isolation and anti-inflammatory activities of these compounds. Compound B 6 b showed significant anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting the production of NO in LPS-induced RAW 264.7 cells with IC SB 50 sb value of 23.24 ± 1.3 M (indomethacin IC SB 50 sb 33.50 ± 1.13 M), the other compounds showed no obvious anti-inflammatory activity ( B 1-5 b , IC SB 50 sb > 50 M). Among them, compound B 4 b was isolated from genus I Xylaria i firstly I , i and the other compounds were isolated from I Xylaria grammica i for the first time.
