The article presents the results of a study on the occurrence of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in patients with acute myocardial infarction and its relationship with microvascular perfusion after undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). According to the authors, the 65.7 percent prevalence of OSA-positive patients indicated an apnea-hypopnea index greater than or equal to 15. They add that the main risk factor for OSA was diabetes mellitus. They indicate the absence of OSA's link with impaired microvascular perfusion after PCI.
