- Abstract
The landscape in science has been reduced to something that exists independently of the subject. The objective of the present work is to contribute in the construction of a theory that conceives it as a subject-object relationship. It has been made a broad review of the existing literature on the subject until finding the one that contains the necessary elements to identify the predominant theoretical positions. It was found that Geography and Ecology claim ownership of the concept of landscape conceived as material substrate and beauty as a quality of the real and it was concluded that the concept of landscape comes from the predominant pictorial art, which is not subject to any scientific discipline and which science must assume as a subject-object relationship.
