Focal myositis (FM) is a benign localized inflammatory process of unknown aetiology, which presents as a rapidly enlarging soft-tissue mass that evolves into a localized lesion. It is most often mistaken for a neoplasm. Histologically, it is characterized by marked myopathic changes of the muscle fibres, lymphocytic infiltration and interstitial fibrosis. We report a 5-year-old girl with localized basaloid follicular hamartoma. The lesion consisted of a linear, hypopigmented, atrophic patch on the right lateral side of nose. We describe an infant with a congenital polypoid anal mass, diagnosed as botryoid-type embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma. Histological examination revealed myxoma-like appearance and cells with greater differentiation with elongated streaming eosinophilic cytoplasm and one or two nuclei, suggestive of rhabdomyoblasts. Tumour cells were strongly immunoreactive for desmin and 10% of cells displayed immunoreactivity for myoglobin. We present this case with a view to highlighting the benign clinical and histological appearance of botryoid-type embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma. Early biopsy is essential for improving prognosis. Summary Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease commonly presents with cervical lymphadenopathy accompanied by fever, myalgia, neutropaenia, and rarely cutaneous eruption. Most cutaneous lesions present as erythematous macules, papules, plaques, nodules, or ulcers on the upper part of the body such as trunk, upper extremities, and face. Summary Trichosporon cutaneum , a saprophytic fungal organism normally found in the soil, has been increasingly recognized as a cause of life-threatening systemic illness in immunosuppressed patients including those with leukaemia. Cutaneous involvement occurs in about 30% of patients with T. cutaneum septicaemia although disseminated folliculitis has not been described to our knowledge. The article presents a case study of a 32-year-old man with a painless subcutaneous nodule on the face, which later diagnose as angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia (ALHE) with arteriovenous malformation (AVM). The patient's lesion has been diagnosed as ALHE after conducting clinical and pathological examinations. Meanwhile, an AVM in the nasal root area has been detected on angiography.

The article presents a case of a forty three year old man with cutaneous oxalosis with uremic tumoral calcinosis (TC). Oxalosis is the systemic crystallization of calcium oxalate in renal and extrarenal organs. Cutaneous manifestations of oxalosis result from crystal deposits in the cutaneous vasculature which lead to acrocyanosis, gangrene and skin necrosis. The factors which predispose to uremic TC include hyperparathyroidism and an increased plasma calcium-phosphorus.

This article focuses on a study in which a 36-year-old woman presented with a 1-year history of denuded nodules on the perianal area. She complained of skin laxity in the axilla, groin and abdomen of 7 years' duration, and she had multiple, yellowish, 2-3 mm sized papules on her neck, giving a plucked chicken appearance. Skin biopsy taken from lesions on the perianal area showed transepidermal elimination of the abnormal elastic fibres, which were thickened with prominent lateral protrusions, giving the so-called lumpy-bumpy or bramble-bush appearance. She was diagnosed with penicillamine-induced degenerative dermatosis.

Metastases to the skin from thyroid carcinoma, especially the medullary type, are rare and known to occur in the setting of disseminated neoplastic disease. A case of cutaneous metastasis from a medullary thyroid carcinoma with other local and distant metastatic lesions is reported. A 29 year old man presented with painful skin lesions on the neck and upper chest. He had been examined for a neck mass that after total thyroid and modified radical neck dissection was diagnosed as medullary thyroid carcinoma. Thyroid carcinoma metastatic to the skin is rare and most of the reported cases have been associated with follicular carcinomas.

The most common metastatic sites of cholangiocarcinoma are the retroperitoneal lymph nodes, peritoneum, liver and lungs, and cutaneous metastases of cholangiocarcinoma are rare. Although cutaneous metastases of internal malignancies most commonly present clinically as nontender nodules appearing in a particular area of body, other presentations can occur. Cutaneous metastases of cholangiocarcinoma can appear as a solitary tumour at the therapeutic drainage site. Dermatofibroma (DF) is a common benign fibrohistiocytic tumour with a predilection for the legs in middle-aged women. Giant DF, a rare clinical variant of DF, is characterized by its unusually large size. Granular cell change is typical of granular cell tumour, but can be observed in diverse cell lineages. Traumatic factors may be involved in the pathogenesis of giant DF and cellular granularity. We describe a 49-year-old Korean man with a giant DF showing granular cell differentiation, which may have been caused in part by multiple treatments with bee-venom acupuncture. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
