Abstract

Pseudo-erythroblastosis on Sysmex XN hematology analyzers: a clue to Candida sepsis. We describe a WNR morphological anomaly of the Sysmex XN-9000 cytogram (Sysmex, Kobe, Japan), which allowed us to discover an unsuspected Candida sepsis. Phagocytizing neutrophils and free circulating blastospores can cause morphological abnormalities also in the neutrophil clusters in the WDF and DIFF cytograms of the Sysmex and Mindray systems, as reported in the I c. parapsilosis i sepsis [[6]].
