Information about the "Banff Higher Order Workshop: Formal Methods in Computation," which was held on September 9-11, 2009 in Ullapool, Scotland is presented. It notes that the workshop commemorates the 60th birthday of Graham Birtwistle, professor of Formal Methods at Leeds University's School of Computing in England. It says that the topics of the workshop were chosen to reflect some aspect of higher-order reasoning, and its subtitle was chosen to encompass Birtwistle's full range of research.
