The article presents a case of allergic contact dermatitis due to tromatadine hydrochloride. The patient a 18 year-old woman was referred with an eczematous reaction on her left cheek which developed after a 5-day application of a tromantadine-hydrochloride-containing ointment for recurrent herpes. Patch tests were performed with a standard series and tested positive for tromantadine hydrochloride It is a topical antiviral agent derived from amantadine. It is widely used in the treatment of recurrent herpes simplex.
