This article explores the integration of Socratic and seminar teaching methods in basic medical education for nursing students. The study aims to find alternative approaches to nursing education that combine theoretical knowledge with practical application, promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and prepare students for the healthcare industry. The research findings indicate that the group using the integrated teaching methods achieved higher scores in practical training, basic theory, and innovation ability compared to the control group. This suggests that the integrated teaching methods offer a more comprehensive learning experience for nursing students. The article also highlights the importance of critical thinking in medicine and discusses the teaching methods of Socrates, an ancient Greek philosopher. The Socratic and Seminar teaching method, which encourages student participation and active learning, has proven effective in medical education by fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and readiness for the challenges of modern healthcare.
