Abstract

The article offers information about Sherlock Holmes stories, highlighting the roles of Holmes as a writer, drawing attention in particular to the two stories written by Conan Doyle in which Holmes acts as the narrator. Information about such a reversal of narrative perspective and style and the tentative experiments in the kind of rewriting, parody, and adaptation that came to characterise the Holmes industry is presented.
