The author discusses the possibility of a confrontation between Iran and the U.S. U.S. President George W. Bush labeled Iran as evil due to its nuclear program and support of terrorism. He comments that hardliners prevented former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami from enacting social reforms and have oppressed Iranian citizens.
