Bioengineered tissues are largely used in current clinical practice for tissue loss reconstruction in difficult cases where autologous grafts are unavailable or unsuitable. Artificial skin substitutes are generally used for the acute treatment of huge skin loss in patients in critical general conditions or for functional indications in secondary surgery. The authors present the daring use of a bioengineered skin substitute for exclusive aesthetic purposes in the reconstruction of the tip of the nose.
