We aim to analyze the activity of naval carpentry in Parintins, in the state of the Amazonas, through theoretical contributions pertaining to the territorial approach and territorial systems. Assuming notions that interpret cities as open systems, we emphasize internal organizational interactions of the city (political, economic and cultural), and its interactions with the ecological module and the various scales of relations with the exterior of the urban system and surrounding areas of the city. Taking into account the analytical proposal on the Urban-Ribeirinho Territorial System composed of activities of the popular economy in Parintins, find out how naval carpentry adapts to fluctuations of water seasonality and urban site. An incomplete production chain, the absence of replenishment of the timber inventory and the operational closure of the territorial system indicate a fragile situation in comparisson with the networks of local power due to the absence of collective organization. Finally, we present a picture of the role of support to the popular and mercantile economy beyond the cultural aspects interacting in the urban environment.

The paper presents an analysis of the collective mullet fishing in Ilha do Mel Island from the theory of reciprocity in Temple (2003) and Sabourin (2009; 2011a; 2011b), as a basis for the observation of an empirical case in the coast of Paraná. The aim is to highlight the practices, relationships and reciprocity structures among fishermen by analyzing its implications for a more sustainable local/territorial development. It was found that even though relations of reciprocity and exchange coexist, there is a predominance of social and economic relations marked by the logic of reciprocity through collective fishing and these relationships contribute to material subsistence and social reproduction of these fishermen.

Este trabalho buscou identificar as formas de arranjos institucionais relacionados à gestão participativa da pesca no Brasil, onde estes processos de gestão estão ocorrendo, e como estes têm sido documentados. Para tanto 97 documentos relacionados à gestão participativa da pesca foram analisados. Notamos que há diferenças regionais gritantes, com implicações para políticas pesqueiras e políticas de fomento à pesquisa sobre o assunto.

O estado atual da pesca no mundo mostra que o manejo da pesca não é capaz de sustentar produtividade e ao mesmo tempo resolver conflitos entre conservação e desenvolvimento. A ciência da pesca há muito reconheceu a importância da interdisciplinaridade, particularmente em assuntos como recrutamento de estoques, flutuações de abundância e relações tróficas. Para se atingir um nível melhor de entendimento e eficiência, o manejo da pesca precisa incorporar e integrar uma abordagem interdisciplinar, no qual aspectos importantes como a sociologia e a economia dos diferentes atores e partes interessadas possam ser ponderados e considerados. Fishcery handling and the interdisciplinarity Abstract The present state of world fisheries shows that fishery management is unable to sustain yields and resolve the conflicts between conservation and development. Fishery science recognized the importance of multi-disciplinarity long ago, particularly in subjects like stock recruitment, abundance fluctuations and trophic relationships. In order to attain a better level of understanding and efficiency, fishery management needs to incorporate and integrate an interdisciplinary approach, where important aspects as sociology and economics of the different actors and stakeholders must be weighted and considered.
