Abstract

In this paper, magnetic properties of NiFe/(IrMn/CoFe)/sub 3//IrMn multilayer thin films, a novel type of exchange-spring system, have been investigated. The coupling between NiFe and IrMn at the interface is believed to be the exchange biased coupling.

Abstract

In this paper, an alternative longitudinal bias scheme called overaid hard/Ru/soft synthetic biasing is investigated using micromagnetic modelling. The performance of this type of biasing scheme is compared with overlaid structure using a hard magnet alone.

Abstract

In this paper, we show experimentally that this type of a novel point-dipole MFM tip can have a superior resolution and a point dipole like magnetic response when the tip geometry is optimized.
