In this article, the authors reply to a discussion on their article "Introspection on improper seismic retrofit of Basilica Santa Maria di Collemaggio after 2009 Italian earthquake," which appeared in a previous issue of the journal. They inform that the information revealing the importance of the global effects of stiffening and strengthening produced by the retrofit interventions of the church Santa Maria di Paganica and Collemaggio Basilica L'Aquila, Italy are presented in the original paper. They also comment on the addition of horizontal truss to the structure of the church. strengthening and damping produced by the retrofit interventions of were presented in the original paper. They also asked the discusser to read the MCEER report for the scheme of correct position of reticular truss. They concludes that by adding horizontal truss to the structure of church, the seismic load has been shifted to facade and transept out of which facade supportes the additional load while the transept did not.
