Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present partial results of an ongoing study, which investigates the teaching of polynomial factoring through analysis of didactic and mathematical praxeologies, institutional and personal relationships developed for their study, based on Brazilian official documents and textbooks for future intervention with a group of mathematics teachers and high school students. We take as theoretical foundation the anthropological theory of the didactic and as a methodology, study and research paths (SRP) by Chevallard and collaborators. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
