El artículo presenta un estudio descriptivo transversal en docentes de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de La Sabana, en el año 2005. Se indagó el rol del docente como proveedor de información, role model, facilitador, evaluador, planeador, diseñador de recursos, investigador y agente de cambio, evaluado mediante el grado de importancia y aplicación de su desempeño. Para los docentes son claros tanto la importancia de roles, como el hecho de que no se tienen las competencias para lograr su aplicabilidad y, por lo tanto, esta es baja. Estos hallazgos son similares a los encontrados en otros estudios a nivel mundial y que hacen necesario establecer una mirada hacia la capacitación y formación pedagógica del docente médico, que a su vez favorezca y mejore la enseñabilidad de las ciencias médicas, sociales y poblacionales del esquema curricular de una escuela de formación médica.This paper presents descriptive cross study on teachers at the School of Medicine of Universidad de La Sabana in the year 2005. The teacher's role as provider of information, role model, facilitator, evaluator, planner, resource designer, researcher and change agent was investigated and evaluated by means of degree of importance and performance application. The teachers have a clear idea of the importance of roles as well as of the fact that they lack the competences necessary for their applicability. Therefore, applicability is low. These findings are similar to the ones in other world-wide studies and highlight the need of paying attention to the pedagogical training and formation of the doctor-teacher. Such training and formation should enhance and improve the teachcability of medical, social and populational sciences of the curricular scheme in a medical school.

16 p. The objective of the paper is to identify the current trends in competency-based evaluation in the field of health, based on review of scientific literature. A review of primary, secondary and tertiary sources in Spanish and English from 2005 to date was conducted in search engines such as PubMed, Redalyc, Scielo, Lilacs and Virtual Health Library. Current trends show competency-based evaluation brings students, teachers, HEIs and the community together to train new professionals as part of the transformation in education. It is essential that students, teachers, administrators and universities are part of the teaching, learning and evaluation process. O trabalho busca estabelecer as tendências atuais da avaliação por competências na área da saúde, a partir da revisão da literatura científica. Foi realizada uma revisão em fontes primárias, secundárias e terciárias em espanhol e inglês desde 2005 até hoje, em buscadores como: PubMed, Redalyc, Scielo, Lilacs, Biblioteca virtual em saúde. As tendências atuais mostram que a avaliação por competências integra os estudantes, docentes, as IES e a comunidade para formar novos profissionais dentro da transformação educativa. É fundamental que os estudantes, os docentes, os administradores e as universidades sejam parte do processo de ensino, aprendizagem e avaliação. El trabajo busca establecer las tendencias actuales de la evaluación por competencias en el área de la salud, a partir de la revisión de la literatura científica. Se realizó una revisión en fuentes primarias, secundarias y terciarias en español e inglés desde el 2005 hasta la fecha, en buscadores como: PubMed, Redalyc, Scielo, Lilacs, Biblioteca virtual en salud. Las tendencias actuales muestran que la evaluación por competencias integra a los estudiantes, docentes las IES y la comunidad para formar a nuevos profesionales dentro de la transformación educativa. Es fundamental que los estudiantes, los docentes, los directivos y las universidades sean parte del proceso de enseñanza, de aprendizaje y de evaluación.
