The article reports on the release of a single-chip core logic platform by Via Technologies, targeting the ultramobile personal computer market. Its VX700 offering is a precursor to a system-in-package called CoreFusion that include a C7-M processor, to be out in 2006. The platform supports connectivity options and multimedia acceleration into a 35 square millimeter footprint. Designers can add features on the board as the chip saves up to 45 percent space.
