This article has to present the analysis of the disciplinary trend in physical education based on two discussion topics: object of study and purposes. This analysis was based on the methodological proposal of the qualitative paradigm, hermeneutical historical approach and ethnographic method, and as information gathering techniques: the documentary review and the semi-structured interview. The findings elucidate that this trend has corporeality as its object of study and has, among other purposes, to promote an emancipatory physical education and concludes that said trend is far from the traditional positivist precepts to reach and weave new ways of approaching the problem of how produce knowledge, from where and for whom, all this to build a physical education that helps to overcome the conditions of injustice and inequality and recognizes other knowledge and methodologies of an emancipatory nature that are shown to be absent. This text presents bullerengue as a socio-cultural practice that is difficult to fragment without falling into its simplification and sacrificing its full understanding. It means an attempt to gather what has been commonly separated in the existing studies on this manifestation (party, music and dance), but without losing sight of its junctures, through two dimensions of analysis artistic-cultural and socio-spatial. The text refers to a recent research experience in Urabá (region located in the department of Antioquia, north-western Colombia), a project called Bullerengue in Urabá, an approach to a complex sociocultural manifestation (2018-2019), which from an interdisciplinary focus integrates ethnomusicology, dance studies, socio-spatial studies and ethnography. This article is part of a larger comparison between two electronic peripherical rhythms : Champeta from Cartagena de Indias and Funk Carioca, from the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. It analyses the esthetical characteristics that these two musical universes share, specifically those which make them to transgress norms of taste, moral rules and spatial divisions in two cities with high segregation levels. The article shows how these esthetical practices achieve a visibility thanks to particular corporalities and sonorities. It is especially through their parties that funk and champeta cause a temporal subversion of the established order and conquer spatialities traditionally restricted for this type of manifestations.
