Peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading has attracted a lot of attention and the number of electric vehicles (EVs) has increased in the past couple of years. Toward sustainable mobility, EVs meet the standard development goals (SDGs) for attaining a sustainable future in the transport sector. This development and increasing number of EVs creates an opportunity for prosumers to trade electricity. Considering this opportunity, this review article aims to provide an in-depth analysis of P2P energy trading of EVs using blockchain in centralized and decentralized networks, which enables prosumers to exchange energy directly with one another. The paper is aimed to provide the reader with a state-of-the-art review on the P2P energy trading for EVs, considering different blockchain algorithms that are practically implemented or still in the research phase. Moreover, the paper presents blockchain applications, current trends, and future challenges of EVs' energy trading. To facilitate better interpretation of dielectric response measurements--thereby directing numerical evidence for condition assessments of oil-paper-insulated equipment in high-voltage alternating current (HVAC) transmission systems--a novel approach is presented to estimate the parameters in the extended Debye model (EDM) using wideband frequency domain spectroscopy (FDS). A syncretic algorithm that integrates a genetic algorithm (GA) and the Levenberg-Marquardt (L-M) algorithm is introduced in the present study to parameterize EDM using the FDS measurements of a real-life 126 kV oil-impregnated paper (OIP) bushing under different controlled temperatures. As for the uncertainty of the EDM structure due to variable branch quantity, Akaike's information criterion (AIC) is employed to determine the model orders. For verification, comparative analysis of FDS reconstruction and results of FDS transformation to polarization--depolarization current (PDC)/return voltage measurement (RVM) are presented. The comparison demonstrates good agreement between the measured and reconstructed spectroscopies of complex capacitance and tan δover the full tested frequency band (10-4 Hz-10³ Hz) with goodness of fit over 0.99. Deviations between the tested and modelled PDC/RVM from FDS are then discussed. Compared with the previous studies to parameterize the model using time domain dielectric responses, the proposed method solves the problematic matching between EDM and FDS especially in a wide frequency band, and therefore assures a basis for quantitative insulation condition assessment of OIP-insulated apparatus in energy systems. This paper introduces a straightforward control strategy aimed at the reduction of current fluctuations within the low-frequency domain of open-loop V/f control in induction motor drives. Traditional control techniques necessitate the addition of a current compensator based on motor parameters and the use of digital filters such as band-pass or high-pass filters. These methods, however, rely on precise motor parameters and involve complex filter design and implementation. The proposed control is capable of suppressing current fluctuations without controlling the slip of the induction motor. The proposed control strategy generates the forced rotation angle and command input voltage using the V/f block and outputs the d-axis voltage using a proportional integral controller to keep the d-axis current constant at zero. The difference between the command input voltage and the d-axis voltage is applied as the q-axis voltage and then applied through SVPWM. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control, the proposed control is implemented and analyzed using power simulation based on the results of the analysis of the causes of current fluctuations in the induction motor. Finally, the effect of suppressing current fluctuations of the induction motor is verified through experimental results. In the 10~19 Hz range, where the conventional V/f control method resulted in current fluctuation rates exceeding 10% and peaking at 113.3% at 13 Hz, the proposed method suppressed the fluctuation rate to below 8.6% across all frequencies. Economic Dispatch Problems (EDP) refer to the process of determining the power output of generation units such that the electricity demand of the system is satisfied at a minimum cost while technical and operational constraints of the system are satisfied. This procedure is vital in the efficient energy management of electricity networks since it can ensure the reliable and efficient operation of power systems. As power systems transition from conventional to modern ones, new components and constraints are introduced to power systems, making the EDP increasingly complex. This highlights the importance of developing advanced optimization techniques that can efficiently handle these new complexities to ensure optimal operation and cost-effectiveness of power systems. This review paper provides a comprehensive exploration of the EDP, encompassing its mathematical formulation and the examination of commonly used problem formulation techniques, including single and multi-objective optimization methods. It also explores the progression of paradigms in economic dispatch, tracing the journey from traditional methods to contemporary strategies in power system management. The paper categorizes the commonly utilized techniques for solving EDP into four groups: conventional mathematical approaches, uncertainty modelling methods, artificial intelligence-driven techniques, and hybrid algorithms. It identifies critical research gaps, a predominant focus on single-case studies that limit the generalizability of findings, and the challenge of comparing research due to arbitrary system choices and formulation variations. The present paper calls for the implementation of standardized evaluation criteria and the inclusion of a diverse range of case studies to enhance the practicality of optimization techniques in the field. The subsynchronous oscillation caused by the resonance between power electronic devices and series compensation devices or weak power grids introduced by large-scale renewable energy generation greatly reduces the transmission capacity of the system and may endanger the safe operation of the power system. It even leads to system oscillation instability. In this paper, based on the advantages of a simple solution, a small amount of calculation and anti-noise of ERA, a method of subsynchronous oscillation parameter identification based on the eigensystem realization algorithm (ERA) is proposed. The Hankel matrix in the improved ERA is obtained by splicing the real part matrix and the imaginary part matrix of the synchrophasor, thus solving the problem of angular frequency conjugate constraints of two fundamental components and two oscillatory components which are not considered in the existing ERA. The solution to this problem is helpful to improve the accurate parameter identification results of ERA under the data window of 200 ms and weaken the limitation caused by the assumption that the synchrophasor model is fixed. The practicability of the improved method based on PMU is verified by the synthesis of ERA and the actual measurement data. Compared with the existing ERA, the improved ERA can accurately identify the parameters of each component under the ultra-short data window and realize the dynamic monitoring of power system subsynchronous oscillation. Ferroresonance in power networks is a dangerous phenomenon, which may result in overcurrents and overvoltages, causing damage to power equipment and the faulty operation of protection systems. For this reason, the possibility of the occurrence of ferroresonance has to be identified, and adequate methods need to be incorporated to eliminate or reduce its effects. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of ferroresonance damping in auxiliary power systems of high-voltage substations by selected damping devices. Laboratory experiments, the results of which created bases for the development of models of selected damping devices, are presented. These models were used to simulate the effectiveness of ferroresonance damping in an auxiliary power system of a 220/110 kV substation in the EMTP-ATP program. The analyses showed that control systems with different algorithms of operation are used in damping devices. This knowledge is important when selecting parameters and settings of the applied damping devices for a given network and the disturbances in it. The presented research results have proved the effectiveness of commercially available damping devices, provided their parameters are correctly coordinated with the settings of the power system protection. This study describes a laboratory model of a battery energy storage system (BESS) designed for testing algorithms aimed at reducing peak power consumption in railway traction substations. The system comprises a DC/DC converter and battery energy storage. This article details a laboratory model of a bidirectional buck-boost DC/DC converter, which is used to transfer energy between the battery energy storage and a DC line. It presents an analysis of DC/DC converter systems along with simulation studies. Furthermore, the results of laboratory tests on the DC/DC converter model are also provided. The control algorithm of the system in the traction substation is focused on reducing peak power, offering benefits such as lower charges for the railway operator due to the possibility of reducing contracted power requirements. From the perspective of the power grid, the reduction in power fluctuations and, consequently, voltage sags, is advantageous. This paper includes a description of a hardware simulator for verifying the system's control algorithms. The verification of the control algorithms was performed through experimental tests conducted on a laboratory model (a hardware simulator) of the system for dynamic load reduction in traction substations, on a power scale of 1:1000 (5.5 kW). The accurate estimation of the state of charge (SOC) of lithium-ion batteries is critical in battery energy storage systems. This paper introduces a novel approach, the AdaBoost–BPNN model, to overcome the limitations of traditional data-driven estimation methods, such as a low estimation accuracy and poor generalization ability. The proposed model employs a back propagation neural network (BPNN) for the preliminary estimation. Subsequently, an AdaBoost–BPNN model is developed as a strong learner using the AdaBoost integration algorithm. Each BPNN sub-model serves as a weak learner within the AdaBoost framework. The final output of the strong learner is obtained by combining the individual outputs from the weak learners using weighting factors. This adaptive adjustment of weighting factors enhances the accuracy of SOC estimation. The proposed SOC estimation algorithm is evaluated and validated through experimental analysis. Throughout the paper, theoretical analysis is conducted, and the proposed AdaBoost–BPNN model is validated and verified using experimental results. The results demonstrate that the AdaBoost–BPNN model outperforms traditional methods in accurately estimating SOC under various conditions, including constant current-constant voltage (CCCV) charging, dynamical stress testing (DST), US06, a federal urban driving schedule (FUDS), and pulse discharge conditions. Advancements in new technologies, a reduction in CO2 emissions, and the rising demand for energy are causing a growth in the share of renewable energy sources. In distribution networks, an increasing number of distributed generators (DGs) makes the utility grid's protection complex and demanding. Vector surge and rate-of-change-of-frequency are the established anti-islanding protection methods, recognizing that the standard paradigm for protection, involving distributed generation, cannot be set only once but has to be continuously updated following the requirements and changes in the system. One of the requirements is active participation in the preservation of system frequency and voltage, which can be interrupted if the DG trips and disconnects from the utility grid. Anti-islanding protection and spurious tripping can be avoided by implementing new algorithms and techniques. This paper presents a novel protection scheme based on a voltage frequency differential. The proposed algorithm employs remote and local frequency measurements in such a manner that, for the occurrence of a frequency difference, it is assumed that the DG is in an islanding state. In this article, we demonstrate the feasibility of the algorithm through numerical analysis of grid events and laboratory testing emulating real grid-measured values. The test results show that the algorithm is resilient to false tripping for non-islanding events and more reliable than conventional methods in islanding detection. The algorithm can be set to low-frequency differential values, drastically reducing the non-detection zone in any DG type, regardless of its size and voltage level at the point of common coupling. Arc faults are the main cause of electrical fires according to national fire data statistics. Intensive studies of artificial intelligence-based arc fault detection methods have been carried out and achieved a high detection accuracy. However, the computational complexity of the artificial intelligence-based methods hinders their application for arc fault detection devices. This paper proposes a lightweight arc fault detection method based on the discrimination of a novel feature for lower current distortion conditions and the Adam-optimized BP neural network for higher distortion conditions. The novel feature is the pulse signal number per unit cycle, reflecting the zero-off phenomena of the arc current. Six features, containing the novel feature, are chosen as the inputs of the neural network, reducing the computational complexity. The model achieves a high detection accuracy of 99.27% under various load types recommended by the IEC 62606 standard. Finally, the proposed lightweight method is implemented on hardware based on the STM32 series microcontroller unit. The experimental results show that the average detection accuracy is 98.33%, while the average detection time is 45 ms and the average tripping time is 72–201 ms under six types of loads, which can fulfill the requirements of real-time detection for commercial arc fault detection devices. The reliability and stability of differential protection in power transformers could be threatened by several types of inferences, including magnetizing inrush currents, current transformer saturation, and overexcitation from external faults. The robustness of deep learning applications employed for power system protection in recent years has offered solutions to deal with several disturbances. This paper presents a method for detecting internal faults in power transformers occurring simultaneously with inrush currents. It involves utilizing a data window (DW) and stacked denoising autoencoders. Unlike the conventional method, the proposed scheme requires no thresholds to discriminate internal faults and inrush currents. The performance of the algorithm was verified using fault data from a typical Korean 154 kV distribution substation. Inrush current variation and internal faults were simulated and generated in PSCAD/EMTDC, considering various parameters that affect an inrush current. The results indicate that the proposed scheme can detect the appearance of internal faults occurring simultaneously with an inrush current. Moreover, it shows promising results compared to the prevailing methods, ensuring the superiority of the proposed method. From sample N–3, the proposed DNN demonstrates accurate discrimination between internal faults and inrush currents, achieving accuracy, sensitivity, and precision values of 100%. In this study, the inductor optimization design is performed by applying the Pareto optimization technique. As environmental problems emerge, the electric vehicle market is expanding, and accordingly, volume reduction and high efficiency of the onboard charger (OBC) are required. An OBC consists of a PFC stage and a DC/DC stage. The inductor is a major component in a converter and affects the volume and efficiency of the entire converter system. However, reducing the volume of the inductor leads to an increase in loss due to an increase in the change in flux density. Therefore, it is important to derive a suitable design for the target between the two parameters in the trade-off of loss and volume. This paper introduces the optimal design algorithm for boosting inductors of PFC converters in terms of volume and loss. Volume and loss are difficult to compare with each other, making it difficult to set weights. Therefore, Pareto optimization was applied which can be selected according to the needs and purposes of the decision-maker, without weighting as an optimization method. Through a series of procedures of applying Pareto optimization to the inductor design, several optimal inductor designs can be derived. At this time, the optimal designs become a set of designs in which the loss does not decrease without an increase in volume, or the volume does not decrease without an increase in loss. A designer can select a design with an appropriate volume and loss that meets the purpose of the design or preference. Therefore, through the proposed method, the inductor can be flexibly designed according to the target of the application. The proposed algorithm is applied to the interleaved totem-pole bridgeless boost PFC converter, to review its effectiveness. As a result, several inductor designs are derived in the search space, and various optimal designs are visualized through the Pareto Frontier. This facilitates comparative analysis of various inductor designs and helps designers select reasonable inductors. Vector control of an induction machine (IM) is typically performed by using cascade control structures with conventional linear proportional–integral (PI) controllers, the inner loop being designed for current control and the outer loop for rotor flux and speed control. In this paper, starting with the dq model of the IM, advanced control algorithms are proposed for the two control loops of the cascade structure. For the current inner loop, after the decoupling of the two dq currents, predictive control algorithms are employed to independently control the currents, considering the constraints imposed by the electrical signal physics limitations. Since the outer loop has a nonlinear affine multivariable plant model, a homotopy-based variant of feedback linearization is used to obtain a nonsingular decoupling matrix of the feedback transformation even when the rotor flux is zero at the start-up of the motor. During the continuous variation in the homotopy parameter, the plant model is variable and, for this reason, model-free algorithms are used to control the flux and speed of the IM due to their capabilities to manage complex dynamics from data without requiring knowledge of the plant model. The performances of the proposed cascade control strategy with advanced algorithms in the two loops were tested by simulation and compared with those obtained with conventional PI controllers, resulting in better dynamic behavior for predictive and model-free control. This paper introduces a fault location technique for multi-section combined transmission lines, utilizing unsynchronized fault record data. The approach determines the intersection points of the voltage magnitudes computed using the fault current and voltage records of each terminal and the constant line parameters of each section. Finally, the real fault location is identified based on the calculated inverse angle of equivalent impedance. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, a three-section combined transmission line is constructed using the PSCAD/EMTDC software version 5.0.0, and various fault scenarios are simulated and tested employing the proposed algorithm. Low-Level Virtual Machine (LLVM) compiler infrastructure is a useful tool for building just-in-time (JIT) compilers, besides its reliable front end represented by a clang compiler and its elaborated middle end containing different optimizations that improve the runtime performance. This paper specifically addresses the part of building a JIT compiler using an LLVM with the scope of obtaining the hardware architecture details of the underlying machine such as the number of cores and the number of logical cores per processing unit and providing them to the NUMA-BTLP static thread classification algorithm and to the NUMA-BTDM static thread mapping algorithm. Afterwards, the hardware-aware algorithms are run using the JIT compiler within an optimization pass. The JIT compiler in this paper is designed to run on a parallel C/C++ application (which creates threads using Pthreads), before the first time the application is executed on a machine. To achieve this, the JIT compiler takes the native code of the application, obtains the corresponding LLVM IR (Intermediate Representation) for the native code and executes the hardware-aware thread classification and the thread mapping algorithms on the IR. The NUMA-Balanced Task and Loop Parallelism (NUMA-BTLP) and NUMA-Balanced Thread and Data Mapping (NUMA-BTDM) are expected to optimize the energy consumption by up to 15% on the NUMA systems. The fault detection time identified by relying on the over-voltage criterion of zero-sequence voltage often lags behind the actual occurrence time of ground faults, which may cause fault protection methods based on transient quantity principles to miss fault characteristics and lose their protection capability. To accurately estimate the time of occurrence of a single-phase-to-ground fault, this paper proposes a two-step dimensionality reduction algorithm for estimating the time of occurrence of a single-phase-to-ground fault in a distribution network. This algorithm constructs a filter based on Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) to establish a high-dimensional feature dataset based on the zero-sequence current of all feeders. After Principal Component Analysis and Hilbert Mapping Algorithm, the high-dimensional data are reduced to two dimensions to construct a two-dimensional feature dataset. The density-based clustering method is used to adaptively divide the data into two categories, fault data and non-fault data, so as to estimate the time of occurrence of the fault. The paper designs 11 sets of experiments including 7 common high-resistance grounding mediums to verify the accuracy of the fault time recognition of this algorithm. This paper presents a novel modular voltage control algorithm for optimal scheduling of a distribution system's load tap changers to minimize the number of tap changes while maintaining a voltage deviation (VD) around a desired target. To this end, a bi-objective optimal voltage regulation (OVR) problem is addressed in two distinct stages. First, the operational constraint on the load tap changer is removed to form a single-objective OVR problem relating to the voltage. The solution obtained in this stage is ultimately utilized to determine the penalty value assigned to the distance from the optimal (solely in terms of voltage) control value. In the second stage, the optimal scheduling problem is formulated as a minimum-cost-path problem, which can be efficiently solved via dynamic programming. This approach allows the identification of optimal scheduling that considers both the voltage-related objective as well as the number of load tap changer switching operations with no added computational burden beyond that of a simple voltage optimization problem. The method imposes no restriction on the load tap changer's operation and is tested under two different target functions on the standard IEEE-123 test case. The first attains a nominal voltage with a 0.056 p.u. voltage deviation and the second is the well-known conservation voltage reduction (CVR) case with a 0.17 p.u. voltage deviation. The method is compared to an evolutionary-based algorithm and shows significant improvement in the voltage deviation by a factor of 3.5 as well as a computation time acceleration of two orders of magnitude. The demand for a reliable, cheap and environmentally friendly source of energy makes the integration of renewable energy into power networks a global challenge. Furthermore, reliability, as one of the core elements of efficient and cost-effective energy management options, is still among the dominant factors/techniques that receive more attention for realistic penetrations of renewable energy into the electricity grid. This paper proposes an efficient way of energy management for a grid-connected microgrid. The grid-connected microgrid used in the analysis consists of solar photovoltaic (P.V.) and battery. In this microgrid configuration, oftentimes, the output power might not be equal to the system demand; in this regard, it is expected that the mismatch between these output powers is not zero. However, to reduce the mismatch between demand and supply to be close to zero, this paper proposes strategies of increasing the rated power of solar, battery and grid separately and combining them with a view of finding the cheapest option among these strategies. The results have shown that the cost increment for different options is USD 280.792, 84.48 and 48.204 for storage, P.V. and grid, respectively. These have shown that the storage option is the most expansive option for improving P.V. grid-connected microgrids. This is followed immediately by the P.V. option, which is weather dependent. On the other hand, the grid option is the cheapest option for system reliability improvement. Load forecasting is a research hotspot in academia; in the context of new power systems, the prediction and determination of load reserve capacity is also important. In order to adapt to new forms of power systems, a day-ahead automatic generation control (AGC) reserve capacity demand prediction method based on the Fourier transform and the attention mechanism combined with a bidirectional long and short-term memory neural network model (Attention-BiLSTM) optimized by an improved whale optimization algorithm (IWOA) is proposed. Firstly, based on the response time, Fourier transform is used to refine the distinction between various types of load reserve demand, and the power of the AGC reserve band is calculated using Parseval's theorem to obtain the reserve capacity demand sequence. The maximum mutual information coefficient method is used to explore the relevant influencing factors of the AGC reserve sequence concerning the data characteristics of the AGC reserve sequence. Then, the historical daily AGC reserve demand sequences with relevant features are input into the Attention-BiLSTM prediction model, and the improved whale algorithm is used to automatically find the optimal hyperparameters to obtain better prediction results. Finally, the arithmetic simulation results show that the model proposed in this paper has the best prediction performance with the upper (0.8810) and lower (0.6651) bounds of the coefficient of determination ( R 2 ) higher than the other models, and it has the smallest mean absolute percentage error ( M A P E ) and root mean square error ( R M S E ). This paper deals with a method of calculating the mutual and self-inductances of various air coils located arbitrarily in space. Known elementary solutions (the Biot–Savart formulas) were used to determine the magnetic field of infinitely thin current loops and infinitely thin wires of finite length magnetically linking other coils. Unlike commonly used algorithms, these elementary solutions were not extensively transformed analytically but were used to perform calculations via direct numerical integration. This enabled the very quick and accurate obtaining of the self-inductance values, as well as determining the dependence of mutual inductances on the positions of both coils. This method allows for the analysis of different coil configurations (misaligned coils, inclined to each other, etc.) that other methods do not cover. It also enables the determination of the forces acting on the coils, as well as the calculation of the magnetic field distribution from any coil configuration. To ensure reliable power delivery to customers under potential disturbances, the coordination of a microgrid cluster (MGC) is essential. Various control strategies—centralized, decentralized, distributed, and hierarchical—have been explored in the literature to achieve this goal. The hierarchical control method, with three distinct levels, has proven effective in fostering coordination among microgrids (MGs) within the cluster. The third control level, utilizing a time-triggering consensus protocol, relies on a continuous and reliable communication network for data exchange among MGs, leading to resource-intensive operations and potential data congestion. Moreover, uncertainties introduced by renewable energy sources (RESs) can adversely impact cluster performance. In response to these challenges, this paper introduces a new distributed event-triggered consensus algorithm (DETC) to enhance the efficiency in handling the aforementioned issues. The proposed algorithm significantly reduces communication burdens, addressing resource usage concerns. The performance of this approach is evaluated through simulations of a cluster comprising four DC MGs, in each of which were PV and a hybrid Battery-Super capacitor in the MATLAB environment. The key findings indicate that the proposed DETC algorithm achieves commendable results in terms of voltage regulation, precise power sharing among sources, and a reduction in triggering instants. Based on these results, this method can be deemed as a good development in MGC management, providing a more efficient and reliable means of coordination, particularly in scenarios with dynamic loads and renewable energy integration. The performance of transformers directly determines the reliability, stability, and economy of the power system. The methodologies of minimizing the transformer manufacturing cost under the premise of ensuring performance is of great significance. This paper presented an innovative multi-objective optimization model to analyze the relationship between design parameters and transformer indicators. In addition, the sensitive analysis is conducted to exploit the interaction relationships between design parameters and targets. The reliability of the model was demonstrated in 50 MVA/110 kV and 63 MVA/110 kV prototypes, compared with the actual material usage, short-circuit impedance, and load loss, and the maximum error is less than 7%. Due to this problem having many optimization objectives and the high dimension of variables, a two-stage algorithm called MOPSO-NSGA3 (multi-objective particle swarm optimization and non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-3) is presented. MOPSO is used to find non-domain solutions within the search space in the first stage, and the solution will be used as prior knowledge to initialize the population in NSGA3. Accurate localization of partial discharge in GIS equipment remains a key focus of daily maintenance for substations, which can be achieved through advanced detection and location techniques, as well as regular maintenance and testing of the equipment. However, there is currently an issue with low accuracy in the localization algorithm. Aiming at the problems of low precision and local optimization of the swarm intelligence algorithm in partial discharge localization system of GIS equipment, this paper proposes a 3D localization algorithm based on a time difference of arrival (TDOA) model of the improved artificial fish swarm algorithm (IAFSA). By introducing the investigation behaviour of the artificial bee colony(ABC) algorithm into the artificial fish swarms algorithm (AFSA), this algorithm is more efficient to jump out of the local extremum, enhance the optimization performance, improve the global search ability and overcome the premature convergence. Furthermore, more precise positioning can be achieved with dynamic parameters. The results of the testing function show that IAFSA is significantly superior to AFSA and particle swarm optimization (PSO) in terms of positioning accuracy and stability. When applied to partial discharge localization experiments, the maximum relative positioning error is less than 2.5%. This validates that the proposed method in this paper can achieve high-precision partial discharge localization, has good engineering application value, and provides strong support for the safe operation of GIS equipment. Many aggregation operators are studied to deal with multi-criteria group decision-making problems. Whenever information has two aspects, intuitionistic fuzzy sets and Pythagorean fuzzy sets are employed to handle the information. However, q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets are more flexible and suitable because they cover information widely. The current paper primarily focuses on the multi-criteria group decision-making technique based on prioritization and two robust aggregation operators based on Aczel–Alsina t-norm and t-conorm. This paper suggests two new aggregation operators based on q-rung orthopair fuzzy information and Aczel–Alsina t-norm and t-conorm, respectively. Firstly, novel q-rung orthopair fuzzy prioritized Aczel–Alsina averaging and q-rung orthopair fuzzy prioritized Aczel–Alsina geometric operators are proposed, involving priority weights of the information. Several related results of the proposed aggregation operators are investigated to see their diversity. A multi-criteria group decision-making algorithm based on newly established aggregation operators is developed, and a comprehensive numerical example for the selection of the most suitable energy resource is carried out. Repetitive controllers (RCs) are linear control structures based on the internal model principle. This control strategy is known for its ability to control periodic reference signals, even if these signals have many harmonic components. Despite being a solution that results in a good performance, several parameters of the repetitive controller need to be correctly tuned to guarantee its stability. Among these parameters, one that has high impact on the system performance and stability is the finite impulse response (FIR) filter, which is usually used to increase the stability domain of RC-based controllers. In this context, this paper presents a complete tutorial for designing the zero-phase FIR filter, which is often used to stabilize control systems that use RC-based controllers. In addition, this paper presents a Matlab® application developed for performing the stability analysis of RC systems and designing its FIR filter. To solve the problem of feature selection and error correction after mode decomposition and improve the ability of power load forecasting models to capture complex time series information, a two-stage short-term power load forecasting method based on recursive feature elimination with a cross validation (RFECV) algorithm and time convolution network–efficient channel attention mechanism–long short-term memory network (TCN–ECA–LSTM) is presented. First, the load sequence is decomposed into a relatively stable set of modal components using variational mode decomposition. Then, the RFECV-based method filters the feature set of each modal component to construct the best feature set. Finally, a two-stage prediction model based on TCN–ECA–LSTM is established. The first stage predicts each modal component and the second stage reconstructs the load forecast based on the predicted value of the previous stage. This paper aims to address the difficult to pinpoint fault cause of the full parallel AT traction power supply system with special structure. The fault characteristics are easily covered up, and high transition impedance only affects the singularity of the wavehead, making the traveling waves hard to identify. Moreover, the classification accuracy of the traditional time-frequency analysis method is not sufficiently high to distinguish precisely. In this paper, a fault classification method of traction network based on single-channel improved Hilbert–Huang transform and deep learning is proposed. This method extracts effective fault features directly from the original fault signals and classifies the fault types at the same time. The accuracy of data categorization is increased by directly applying the Hilbert–Huang transform to fault signals to extract transient fault features and produce one-dimensional feature data, which are analyzed by the time-frequency energy spectrum. Using the similarity recognition method of long-short-term memory neural network, the extracted high-frequency one-dimensional feature data are trained and tested to classify fault signals more accurately. In order to verify the effectiveness of this method, several kinds of short-circuit and lightning strike faults are continuously simulated and verified in this paper. Considering various fault conditions and factors, the proposed improved HHT+LSTM method is compared with the LSTM method for direct processing of the original signals. The CLLC resonant converter is a widely used bidirectional power converter known for its high energy transfer efficiency. To extend its operating range, the converter often employs a hybrid modulation strategy, which is valued for its simplicity and efficiency. However, at the critical transition point between pulse frequency modulation and phase-shift modulation, instability in the output can be observed due to repetitive and unnecessary mode changes caused by noise. In order to address this issue, this paper introduces a dynamic transition algorithm integrated with hybrid modulation. This approach adaptively updates the controller parameters to mitigate oscillations resulting from improper initial parameter settings. Additionally, it incorporates error analysis and hysteresis comparison to prevent false triggers caused by noise, enabling intelligent mode adjustments. Finally, a 1 kW prototype is designed to conduct experiments, demonstrating an approximately 50% improvement in dynamic performance when the converter operates with the dynamic transition algorithm. Energy usage in robotic applications is rapidly increasing as industrial robot installations grow. This research introduces a novel approach, using the rapidly exploring random tree (RRT)-based scheme for optimizing the robot's motion planning and minimizing energy consumption. Sampling-based algorithms for path planning, such as RRT and its many other variants, are widely used in robotic motion planning due to their efficiency in solving complex high-dimensional problems efficiently. However, standard versions of these algorithms cannot guarantee that the generated trajectories are always optimum and mostly ignore the energy consumption in robotic applications. This paper proposes an energy-efficient industrial robotics motion planning approach using the novel flight cost-based RRT (FC-RRT*) algorithm in pick-and-place operation to generate nodes in a predetermined direction and then calculate energy consumption using the circle point method. After optimizing the motion trajectory, power consumption is computed for the rotary axes of a six degree of freedom (6DOF) serial type of industrial robot using the work–energy hypothesis for the rotational motion of a rigid body. The results are compared to the traditional RRT and RRT* (RRT-star) algorithm as well as the kinematic solutions. The experimental results of axis indexing tests indicate that by employing the sampling-based FC-RRT* algorithm, the robot joints consume less energy (1.6% to 16.5% less) compared to both the kinematic solution and the conventional RRT* algorithm. Electromobility and autonomous driving has started a transformation in the automotive industry, resulting in new requirements for vehicle systems. Due to its functions, the electrical/electronic (E/E) architecture is one of the essential systems. Zonal E/E architecture is a promising approach to tackle this issue. The research presented in this paper describes a methodology for determining the optimal number of zones, the position of the zone control units (ZCU), and the assignment of electric components to these zones and ZCUs. Therefore, the design of the power supply and the wiring harness is essential. This approach aims to identify the most suitable system architecture for a given vehicle geometry and a set of electric components. For this purpose, the assignment of electric components is accomplished by k-means clustering, and Dijkstra's algorithm is used to optimize the cable routing. As ZCUs will be the hubs for the in-vehicle data and information transport in zonal architectures, their position and their number are crucial for the architecture and wiring harness development. Simulations show a suitable zonal architecture reduces wiring harness length as well as weight and brings functional benefits. The output of wind power and photovoltaic power is random, fluctuating and intermittent, and a direct grid connection will result in the reduction of power generation income and a great fluctuation in the power grid's connection. The addition of hydropower stations can reduce the above problems. Therefore, this paper first introduces and analyzes a typical application scenario of a water–wind–light combined power generation system. Then, a multi-objective optimization model is established, considering the two objectives of maximizing the joint generation and minimizing the system's power fluctuation. Third, the adaptive fractional order calculus strategy is introduced, and a multi-objective pigeon swarm algorithm, which can adaptively adjust the fractional order according to the location information of a flock, is proposed. The present paper introduces the formulation and development of a bilinear quadratic control algorithm for Modular Multilevel Converter (MMCs), with a specific emphasis on achieving internal energy stabilization and balance within the converter. A bilinear average model of the MMC is employed, enabling the separation between the DC voltage and the voltage generated by submodules. The algorithm proposed in this study is formulated using bilinear theory and is founded on quadratic feedback control principles. The stability of the suggested controller is scrutinized using a meticulous mathematical approach based on Lyapunov theory. Subsequently, the theoretical findings are assessed using a comprehensive MMC switching model implemented in Matlab Simscape Electrical. The utilization of a phase-shift PWM technique, accompanied by a sorting algorithm, is considered in the study. Additionally, a comparison between the proposed bilinear controller and a standard PI controller is conducted. The outcomes demonstrate that the proposed controller effectively facilitates the regulation of circulating and AC currents, along with managing the internal energy of MMCs. In this paper, the comparison of the power requirements during real-time processing of video sequences in embedded systems was investigated. During the experimental tests, four modules were tested: Raspberry Pi 4B, NVIDIA Jetson Nano, NVIDIA Jetson Xavier AGX, and NVIDIA Jetson Orin AGX. The processing speed and energy consumption have been checked, depending on input frame size resolution and the particular power mode. Two vision algorithms for detecting lines located in airport areas were tested. The results show that the power modes of the NVIDIA Jetson modules have sufficient computing resources to effectively detect lines based on the camera image, such as Jetson Xavier in mode MAXN or Jetson Orin in mode MAXN, with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and a power consumption of about 19 W for 24 FPS for both algorithms tested. The pursuit of achieving total power network observability in smart grids using Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) carries a significant promise of real-time Wide-Area Monitoring, Protection, and Control (WAMPAC). PMU applications eliminate periodical measurements, thereby increasing accuracy through a high sampling rate of the measured power systems quantities. The high costs of installation of PMUs for total power system observability presents a challenge in the implementation of PMUs. This is due to the expensive costs of PMU devices. This has led to a prominent optimal PMU placement (OPP) problem that researchers tirelessly aim to solve by ensuring a complete power network observability while using the least installed PMU devices possible. In this paper, a novel Binary Firefly Algorithm (BFA) based on the node degree centrality scores of each bus is proposed to minimize PMU installations. The BFA solves the OPP problem in consideration of the effect of Zero Injection Buses (ZIBs) under normal operation and single PMU outage (SPO). The robustness and efficiency of the proposed algorithm is tested on IEEE-approved test systems and visualized with a force-directed technique on an undirected power network graph. The proposed BFA yields the same but better optimal PMU numbers, obtained by existing meta-heuristic optimization techniques found in the literature for each of the IEEE test cases, as well as highlighting the cost–benefit of having a robust system against single PMU loss while considering the ZIB effect for an improved system measurement availability. State-of-charge (SoC) estimation is one of the core functions of battery energy management systems. An accurate SoC estimation can guarantee the safe and reliable operation of the batteries system. In order to overcome the practical problems of low accuracy, noise uncertainty, poor robustness, and adaptability in parameter identification and SoC estimation of lithium-ion batteries, this paper proposes a joint estimation method based on the adaptive extended Kalman filter (AEKF) algorithm and the adaptive unscented Kalman filter (AUKF) algorithm in multiple time scales for 18,650 ternary lithium-ion batteries. Based on the slowly varying characteristics of lithium-ion batteries' parameters and the quickly varying characteristics of the SoC parameter, firstly, the AEKF algorithm was used to online identify the parameters of the model of batteries with a macroscopic time scale. Secondly, the identified parameters were applied to the AUKF algorithm for SoC estimation of lithium-ion batteries with a microscopic time scale. Finally, the comparative simulation experiments were implemented, and the experimental results show the proposed joint algorithm has higher accuracy, adaptivity, robustness, and self-correction capability compared with the conventional algorithm. Traditional methods often ignore the direct influences of vehicle vibration on the flywheel battery system, which leads to an inaccurate analysis of the dynamic performance of the flywheel battery system and its control effect. Therefore, to make up for the deficiencies of existing studies, a more accurate dynamic performance analysis method and efficient control parameter adjustment algorithm for flywheel batteries based on automotive direct action are proposed in this study. First, the influence of road conditions and vehicle driving conditions on the stability of a vehicle is analyzed primarily. Then, the vibration signal generated by the vehicle is transmitted to the vehicle's magnetic flywheel battery system for analysis, and the accuracy of the analysis process is realized. Then, according to the stability analysis results for the direct action of the vehicle and the actual PID controller, the control parameter adjustment algorithm is summarized using the curve-fitting method. Finally, a performance test is carried out on the mobile experimental platform. Good experimental results show that the flywheel can quickly return to its equilibrium position and effectively reduce the influence of interference from road conditions and different working conditions and improve the robustness. Blade icing seriously affects wind turbines' aerodynamic performance and output power. Timely and accurately predicting blade icing status is crucial to improving the economy and safety of wind farms. However, existing blade icing prediction methods cannot effectively solve the problems of unbalanced icing/non-icing data and low prediction accuracy. In order to solve the above problems, this paper proposes a wind turbine blade icing prediction method based on the focal loss function and CNN-Attention-GRU. First, the recursive feature elimination method combined with the physical mechanism of icing is used to extract features highly correlated with blade icing, and a new feature subset is formed through a sliding window algorithm. Then, the focal loss function is utilized to assign more weight to the ice samples with a lower proportion, addressing the significant class imbalance between the ice and non-ice categories. Finally, based on the CNN-Attention-GRU algorithm, a blade icing prediction model is established using continuous 24-h historical data as the input and the icing status of the next 24 h as the output. The model is compared with advanced neural network models. The results show that the proposed method improves the prediction accuracy and F1 score by an average of 6.41% and 4.27%, respectively, demonstrating the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed method. This paper proposes a novel maximum power point tracking algorithm applied to photovoltaic systems. The proposed method uses the derivative of power versus voltage to define the tracking path and has the advantage of requiring only a voltage sensor to be implemented. The absence of the current sensor and the auxiliary circuitry employed for conditioning the current signal imply cost reduction, configuring the main contribution of the proposed method, whose performance is kept close to the classical incremental conductance method, even with the reduced number of components. In this paper, the role of soft open point (SOP) is investigated with and without system re-configuration (SR) in reducing overall system power losses and improving voltage profile, as well as the effect of increasing the number of SOPs connected to distribution systems under different scenarios using a proposed hybrid water cycle algorithm (HWCA). The HWCA is formulated to enhance the water cycle algorithm (WCA) search performance based on the genetic algorithm (GA) for a complex nonlinear problem with discrete and continuous variables represented in this paper by SOP installation and SR. The WCA is one of the most effective optimization algorithms, however, it may have difficulty striking a balance between exploration and exploitation due to the nature of the proposed nonlinear optimization problem, which mostly causes slow convergence and poor robustness. Consequently, the HWCA proposed in this paper is an efficient solution to improve the balance between exploration and exploitation, which in turn leads to improving the WCA's overall performance without the possibility of getting trapped in local minima. Several cases are studied and conducted on an IEEE 33-node and the IEEE 69-node to investigate the real benefit gained from using SOPs alone or simultaneously with the SR. Based on the obtained results, the proposed HWCA succeeds in enhancing the performance of the proposed test systems considerably in terms of loss reduction (e.g., 31.1–63.3% for IEEE 33-node and 55.7–82.1% for IEEE 69-node compared to the base case) and voltage profile when compared to the base case while maintaining acceptable voltage magnitudes in most cases. Furthermore, the superiority of the proposed method based on the HWCA is validated when compared with the GA and WCA separately for both test systems. In this paper, a heuristic approach to doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) protection and low voltage ride through (LVRT) is carried out. DFIG-based wind systems are rapidly penetrating the power generation section. Despite their advantages, their direct coupling grid makes them highly sensitive to symmetrical faults. A well-known solution to this is the crowbar method of DFIG protection. This paper provides a method to determine the optimal crowbar resistance value, to ensure a strong trade-off between the rotor current and DC voltage transients. Further, since the crowbar method requires disconnection from the grid, the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) is applied to the system. This is to ensure fault ride through compliance with recent grid code requirements. The well-known PSO, as well as the recently developed African vultures optimization algorithm (AVOA), was applied to the problem. The first set of results show that for severe symmetrical voltage dips, the AVOA provides a good option for crowbar magnitude optimization, whereas PSO performed better for moderately severe dips. Secondly, when the LQR was optimized via the AVOA, it exhibited superiority over the conventional PSO-based PI controller. This superiority was in terms of rotor current transient magnitude, DC voltage transient magnitude, and reactive power steady-state ripple and were in the order of 67.5%, 20.35%, and 37.55%, respectively. When comparing the crowbar method and the LQR, it was observed that despite the LQR exhibiting superiority in terms of transient performance, the crowbar method offered a unanimously superior settling time. In this paper, the method and a control algorithm for detecting resonant destruction of a resonant auxiliary power supply for railway vehicle are proposed. It is essential to reduce the weight of the electric equipment attached to the lower part of the railway vehicle because it greatly affects the life of the railway vehicle, such as wheel and bearing. In order to reduce the weight and volume of the auxiliary power supply, in the case of windings, high-speed switching should be performed by lowering the input voltage. Therefore, in this paper, the auxiliary power supply control algorithm using an LLC resonant converter to reduce the weight of auxiliary power supply for railway vehicle is proposed, and the method of detecting resonant destruction due to device failure of a resonant converter is proposed. The proposed algorithm steps down the wire voltage using an input buck converter for high-speed switching, and the inverter input voltage is controlled through the LLC resonant converter. In addition, ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) is operated to minimize the loss of the resonant converter, and the optimal design of the resonant tank is also proposed. In order to detect resonant destruction, a detection method formulated by analyzing the resonant current peak value for the load capacity is proposed. The terminal equipment interconnection and the network communication environment are complex in power cyber–physical systems (CPS), and the frequent interaction between the information and energy flows aggravates the risk of false data injection attacks (FDIAs) in the power grid. This paper proposes an active defense framework against FDIAs of power CPS based on data-driven algorithms in order to ensure that FDIAs can be efficiently detected and processed in real-time during power grid operation. First, the data transmission scenario and false data injection forms of power CPS were analyzed, and the FDIA mathematical model was expounded. Then, from a data-driven perspective, the algorithm improvement and process design were carried out for the three key links of data enhancement, attack detection, and data reconstruction. Finally, an active defense framework against FDIAs was proposed. The example analysis verified that the method proposed in this paper could effectively detect FDIAs and perform data reconstruction, providing a new idea for the active defense against FDIAs of power CPS. Combined heat and power (CHP) plants are known as efficient technologies to reduce environmental emissions, balance energy costs, and increase total energy efficiency. To obtain a more efficient system, various optimization methods have been employed, based on numerical, experimental, parametric, and algorithmic optimization routes. Due to the significance of algorithmic optimization, as a systematic method for optimizing energy systems, this novel review paper is focused on the meta-heuristic optimization algorithms, implemented in CHP energy systems. By considering the applied objective functions, the main sections are divided into single-objective and multi-objective algorithms. In each case, the units' combination is briefly detailed, the objective functions are introduced, and analyses are conducted. The main aim of this paper is to gather a database for the optimization of CHPs, demonstrate the effect of the applied optimization methods on the objective functions, and finally, introduce the most efficient methods. The most significant feature of this paper is that it covers all types of CHP optimization issues including scheduling, sizing, and designing problems, finding the extent of each optimization issue in the relevant papers in the last decade. Based on the findings, in the single-objective problems the combined heat and power economic dispatch (CHPED) issue as a subcategory of the scheduling problems is introduced as the most paid topic; the designing issue is known as the lowest paid topic. In the multi-objective problems, working on various types of CHP optimization problems has been conducted with an almost similar share. Research on the state of charge (SOC) prediction of lead–acid batteries is of great importance to the use and management of batteries. Due to this reason, this paper proposes a method for predicting the SOC of lead–acid batteries based on the improved AdaBoost model. By using the online sequence extreme learning machine (OSELM) as its weak learning machine, this model can achieve incremental learning of the model, which has a high computational efficiency, and does not require repeated training of old samples. Through improvement of the AdaBoost algorithm, the local prediction accuracy of the algorithm for the sample is enhanced, the scores of the proposed model in the maximum absolute error (AEmax) and maximum absolute percent error (APEmax) indicators are 6.8% and 8.8% lower, and the accuracy of the model is further improved. According to the verification with experimental data, when there are a large number of prediction samples, the improved AdaBoost model can reduce the prediction accuracy indicators of mean absolute percent error (MAPE), mean absolute error (MAE), and mean square error (MSE) to 75.4%, 58.3, and 84.2%, respectively. Compared with various other prediction methods in the prediction accuracy of battery SOC, the prediction accuracy indicators MAE, MSE, MAPE, AEmax, and APEmax of the model proposed in this paper are all optimal, which proves the validity and adaptive ability of the model. The energy consumption of buildings is a significant contributor to overall energy consumption in developed countries. Therefore, there is great demand for intelligent buildings in which energy consumption is optimized. Online control is a crucial aspect of such optimization. The implementation of modern algorithms that take advantage of developments in information technology, artificial intelligence, machine learning, sensors, and the Internet of Things (IoT) is used in this context. In this paper, an architecture for testing central heating control algorithms as well as the control algorithms of the heating system of the building is presented. In particular, evaluation metrics, the method for seamless integration, and the mechanism for real-time performance monitoring and control are put forward. Electricity theft has caused massive losses and damage to electricity utilities. The damage affects the electricity supply's quality and increases the generation load. The losses happen not only for the electricity utilities but also affect the legitimate users who have to pay excessive electricity bills. That is why the method to detect electricity theft is indispensable. Recently, machine learning algorithms have been used to develop a model for detecting electricity theft. However, most algorithms have problems due to imbalanced data, overfitting issues, and lack of data. Therefore, this paper proposes a solution that implements the oversampling technique to address the problems and increase the developed model's accuracy. It is used to perform oversampling on the imbalanced dataset. Our proposed method consists of a pre-processing step to remove empty values and extract several parameters. After that, the oversampling technique is performed on the result of the pre-processing step. The logistic regression model combined with the oversampling techniques shows the best performance results on the developed model of electricity theft detection based on the state electricity company customers. The experiment shows that the proposed method, logistic regression combined with the synthetic minority oversampling technique, shows superior performance in terms of the accuracy of the training data and data testing, precision, recall, and F1-scores of 98.97%, 98.7%, 95%, 99%, and 97%, respectively. Dedicated equipment, which is widely used in many different types of vehicles, is the core system that determines the combat capability of special vehicles. Therefore, assuring the normal operation of dedicated equipment is crucial. With the increase in battlefield complexity, the demand for equipment functions is increasing, and the complexity of dedicated equipment is also increasing. To solve the problem of fault diagnosis of dedicated equipment, a fault diagnosis algorithm based on CNN-LSTM was proposed in this paper. CNN and LSTM are used in the model adopted by the algorithm to extract spatial and temporal features from the data. CBAM is used to enhance the model's accuracy in identifying faults for dedicated equipment. Data on dedicated equipment faults were obtained from a hardware-in-loop simulation platform to verify the model. To meet the increased customer demands, microgrid evolved. The structure of microgrid changes dynamically due to the intermittent nature of renewable-based generation, status of the distributed generator and opening of breakers for fault/maintenance. Hence, the magnitude of fault current is dynamic in nature. In order to deal with these dynamic changes, this paper addresses an adaptive central microgrid controller-based protection and relay coordination scheme, which revises the relay settings dynamically (both radial and looped configuration) for every change in topology. In the proposed algorithm, the primary relay responds to a fault immediately since the individual relays are given with fault level setting. For any abnormality in the network, the fault location is determined both via local relay and microgrid central controller (MCC). Hence, even though the local relay fails to identify the fault due to high fault impedance, the MCC locates the fault accurately and isolates the minimum faulty part. The coordination between relays is carried out by MCC in a time-graded manner based on microgrid central protection and relay coordination algorithm.
