This study provides a viable path to save energy by means of e-commerce development. Taking the national e-commerce demonstration cities (NEDC) pilots policy implemented in China as a quasi-natural experiment, based on the city panel data from 2006 to 2019, this study applies the multi-period difference-in-difference (DID) method to evaluate the effect of NEDC on energy saving in pilot cities. The empirical results suggest that the NEDC policy obviously contributes to energy conservation. The treated cities reduced energy consumption by 14.2% as a result of the implementation of NEDC, relative to the untreated cities. The conclusions remain valid after conducting robustness tests such as placebo test, instrumental variables regression, propensity score matching-difference-in-difference (PSM-DID), and synthetic difference-in-difference (SDID). The NEDC achieves energy-saving effects through technological innovation, industrial restructuring, and economic agglomeration. Furthermore, the heterogeneity analysis indicates that, in cities with high levels of human capital, well-developed information infrastructure, non-resource-based cities, and favorable business environments, the impact of NEDC on energy saving is more significant. Analysis of spatial effects shows that the implementation of NEDC has negative externalities, increasing energy consumption in the surrounding area. In the middle and late stages of gas field development, the establishment of a fine reservoir lithological model is an important basis for drilling well pattern adjustment and potential exploitation. The SU 36-11 area of the Ordos basin in China is developing braided channel sediment with rich gas resources. However, the success rate of drilling wells is low due to the complex reservoir heterogeneity and the lack of a fine reservoir lithological model. In this paper, the complex internal structure of the reservoir sand body is revealed using the architectural element analysis method. Three sand body models, that is, isolated channel, superimposed channel, and cut superimposed channel, can be recognized. The effective sand body is mainly the channel bar deposit with a thickness of 2–5 m, a width of 200–500 m, a length of 400–700 m, a width ratio of 50–120, and a length-to-width ratio of 1.5–2. The 2D maps of the lithofacies (architectural elements) were then digitized to create 2D training images (TI) for the construction of the 3D model. The 2D data template was selected to scan the TI to obtain the 2D multi-point probability. The 3D multi-point probability was then generated using the probability fusion theory. The Monte Carlo sampling was used to predict the lithological type between wells. Finally, the 3D reservoir lithological model was built directly using the 2D lithological profiles. From the model, the geometry of the braided channel, channel bar, and flood plain was well revealed, and the spatial distribution of effective reservoir sand bodies was accurately predicted. The cross-validation test shows that the error of the channel bar is 6.5% on average, which improves the accuracy of the prediction of lithology in the sub-surface and can be used to guide the subsequent development of residual gas. There is a big wave in China of retrofitting single-purpose coal-fired systems for district heating into heat-oriented combined heat and power (CHP) systems to save energy. Back-pressure steam turbines (BPSTs) and extraction steam turbines (ESTs) are both common in retrofitted systems, but contrastive analyses of their effects on the systems' operation performance are lacking. Moreover, comprehensive evaluation methods of the retrofitted systems remain unknown. In this paper, exergy, exergoeconomic, and exergoenvironmental analyses were conducted to evaluate the thermodynamic, economic, and environmental performances of two real CHP systems: system A using a BPST and system B using an EST. Additionally, a new multi-criteria evaluation method based on rank correlation analysis was proposed for the retrofitted system. The results show that system A is better than system B in thermodynamic and environmental aspects but poorer in the economic aspect. Overall, the multi-criteria evaluation result indicates that system A has a better comprehensive performance than system B. Therefore, the BPST has a better effect than the EST on the retrofitted CHP system for district heating in this study. The uncertainty quantification is an indispensable part for the validation of the nuclear safety best-estimate codes. However, the uncertainty quantification usually requires the combination of statistical analysis software and nuclear reactor professional codes, and it consumes huge computing resources. In this paper, a design method of coupling interface between DAKOTA Version 6.16 statistical software and nuclear reactor professional simulation codes is proposed, and the integrated computing workflow including interface pre-processing, code batching operations, and interface post-processing can be realized. On this basis, an integrated framework of uncertainty quantification is developed, which is characterized by visualization, convenience, and efficient computing. Meanwhile, a typical example of small-break LOCA analysis of the LOBI test facility was used to validate the reliability of the developed integrated framework of uncertainty quantification. In order to achieve the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutralization, we must vigorously develop renewable energy. As one of the important renewable energy sources, the development and utilization of biomass energy has a high cost, and it is difficult to compete with traditional fossil energy in the early stage of development. Therefore, it is necessary for the government to escort the development of the biomass energy industry through legal means. First of all, on the basis of fully analyzing the development prospects of China's biomass energy, the article sorts out the laws and regulations related to biomass energy in China, and finds the shortcomings. Secondly, this paper draws on the institutional experience of the United States, Brazil, Sweden and other countries with relatively developed biomass energy industry, and provides suggestions for improvement from three aspects: law, policy and administrative system, with a view to supporting China's development of biomass energy industry and realizing the "dual carbon target" theoretically. Retrofitting buildings to achieve improved levels of energy performance is a key strategy in the transition to a low-/net zero carbon future. In China, there has been an enormous growth in residential construction in recent decades in response to the country's economic development and population growth. However, although these buildings are structurally solid and have long functional life spans, most have very poor thermal performance. Therefore, they would be very suitable for energy retrofitting. Because of the variety of retrofitting options, it is important to review the retrofit measures, regulations and possible outcomes to find effective, long-term solutions that strike a balance between the energy saved, the carbon emitted and the financial costs over a building's lifetime. This paper reviews suitable retrofit measures for the hot summer–cold winter region of China, because this is an area with huge numbers of residential buildings that are suitable for energy retrofitting. The study explores the current conditions of targeted residential buildings, retrofit schemes, building regulations, and policy gaps towards achieving China's 2060 carbon neutrality goal. The review indicates that current mandatory building energy regulations in this region are not ambitious enough to achieve a significantly lower carbon future, and one-step deep Passivhaus retrofit schemes are recommended to achieve decarbonization goals. With the continuous development of intelligent transportation technologies, new ways of energy usage in transportation continue to emerge, which puts forward new requirements for the planning and design of energy systems. However, comprehensive analyses on the characteristics of transportation energy systems and the development trend of energy usage patterns brought by intelligent technologies have rarely been carried out so far. This paper explores this subject by reviewing the recent development and utilization of intelligent technologies in the transportation system and its impacts on energy usage. This review is carried out from three aspects, covering the representative intelligent transportation and energy technologies on vehicles, infrastructures and systems. The scope is limited within road, railway and water transport domains, with a focus on the recent developments in China as a representative. In terms of vehicles, the development trend of the power systems for new energy vehicles, the characteristics of energy usages in electric vehicles and the effects on energy saving and emission reduction are summarized. In terms of infrastructures, new technologies on smart road, smart port, intelligent railway energy system and the usage of clear energy on electric grid for transportation are reviewed, with the consideration of their potential influences on energy usages and the energy consumption characteristics of typical facilities also being analyzed. As for the transportation system, this review has focused on intelligent and connected transportation systems, train control and autonomous systems, and intelligent shipping system, with the emphasis on the energy saving and emission reduction effects of applying these intelligent technologies. The overall development trend of the transportation energy system is then analyzed based on the above materials, in particular, the future energy usage patterns in transportation system are given and the major challenges and obstacles approaching the future scenarios are also identified. In this paper, based on the gneiss outcrop of Bozhong 196 gas field in China, uniaxial compression and Brazil splitting tests were conducted by using cores of different orientations. The following compression properties were studied: the elastic compression modulus, Poisson's ratio and compressive strength of the gneiss outcrop. The following tensile properties were studied: the tensile modulus, the tensile strength and peak energy rate of gneiss outcrop. The results demonstrate the following: (1) The elastic compression modulus, compressive strength, tensile strength and peak energy rate of gneiss specimens with horizontal core-taking are greater than those with vertical core-taking. (2) The elastic compression modulus, Poisson's ratio and compressive strength of horizontally cored gneiss specimens are 29.688–45.760 GPa, 0.186–0.386, and 174.94–147.80 MPa, respectively; the elastic compression modulus, Poisson's ratio and compressive strength of the vertical gneiss specimens are 26.541–32.602 GPa, 0.429–0.476 and 169.37–134.46 MPa. (3) The tensile modulus of the horizontal gneiss specimens is 4.93–5.98 GPa. The tensile modulus of the vertical gneiss specimens is 0.96–2.11 GPa. The tensile modulus of the horizontal gneiss specimens is five times that of the vertical gneiss specimens. The elastic compression modulus of gneiss is 5–20 times that of the tensile modulus. (4) The tensile strength and peak energy rate of horizontally cored gneiss specimens are 14.33–17.55 MPa and 2598.67–4049.53 J/m2, respectively. The tensile strength of the vertical gneiss specimens is 6.12–9.65 MPa, and the peak energy rate is 715.74–1515.30 J/m2. (5) There is a good linear relationship between the peak energy rate and tensile strength of gneiss. The coordinated use of electricity and a heat energy system can effectively improve the energy structure during winter heating in the northern part of China and improve the environmental pollution problem. In this paper, an economic scheduling model of an electric–thermal integrated energy system, including a wind turbine, regenerative electric boiler, solar heat collection system, biomass boiler, ground source heat pump and battery is proposed, and a biomass boiler was selected as the auxiliary heat source of the solar heat collection system. A mixed integer linear programming model was established to take the operating cost of the whole system as the target. A day-ahead optimization scheduling strategy considering the demand side response and improving new energy consumption is proposed. In order to verify the influence of the coordinated utilization of the flexible load and energy storage equipment on the optimal scheduling in the model built, three scenarios were set up. Scenario 3 contains energy storage and a flexible load. Compared with scenario 1, the total cost of scenario 3 was reduced by 51.5%, and the abandonment cost of wind energy was reduced by 43.3%. The use of a flexible load and energy storage can effectively reduce the cost and improve new energy consumption. By increasing the capacity of the energy-storage device, the wind power is completely absorbed, but the operation and maintenance cost is increased, so the capacity of energy storage equipment is allocated reasonably according to the actual situation. Phase change materials are used in passive solar house construction with light steel structure walls, which can overcome the problems of weak heat storage capacity and poor utilization of solar heat and effectively solve the thermal defects of light steel structure walls. Based on this, on the basis of preliminary experimental research, this study further carried out theoretical analysis and simulation research on the thermal performance of a light steel structure passive solar house (Trombe form) with PCM walls. Through the heat balance analysis of heat transfer in the heat collecting partition wall, the theoretical calculation formula of the phase change temperature of the PCM was obtained, and it verified theoretically that the phase change temperature value should be 1–3 °C higher than the target indoor air temperature. The evaluation index "accumulated daily indoor temperature offset value" was proposed for evaluating the effect of phase change materials on the indoor temperature of the passive solar house, and "EnergyPlus" software was used to study the influence of the phase change temperature, the amount of material, and the thickness of the insulation layer on the indoor air temperature in a natural day. The results showed that there was a coupling relationship among the performance and between of the thickness of the PCM layer and the phase change temperature. Under typical diurnal climate conditions in the northern Tibetan Plateau of China, the optimal combination of the phase change temperature and the layer thickness was 17 °C and 15 mm, respectively. Especially at a certain temperature, excessive increases in the thickness of the phase transition layer could not improve the indoor thermal environment. For this transition temperature, there exists an optimal transition layer thickness. For a Trombe solar house, the thickness of the insulation layer has an independent impact on indoor temperature compared to other factors, which has an economic value, such as 50 mm in this case. In general, this paper studied the relationship between several important parameters of the phase change wall of a solar house by using numerical simulation methods and quantitatively calculated the optimal parameters under typical meteorological conditions, thus providing a feasible simulation design method for similar engineering applications. A simulation model based on Dymola modelling was developed to investigate the dynamic characteristics of automatic generation control (AGC) for variable-load thermal power units in this study. Specifically, a 300 MW unit from a power plant in northern China was used to verify the model's validity in steady-state processes and to analyze the behavior of the main thermal parameters under different rates of load changes. The economic performance of the unit under different rates of load changes is also analyzed by combining the economic indexes of "two regulations" in the power grid. Results indicate that as the rate of load changes increases, boiler output, main steam temperature, reheat steam temperature, main steam pressure, and working temperatures of various equipment fluctuate more intensely. Specifically, at a rate of load reduction of 2.0% Pe MW/min, the maximum deviation of the main steam temperature can reach 7.6 °C, with the screen-type superheater experiencing the largest heat exchange. To achieve a balance between safety and economics for the unit, the rate of load raising should not exceed 1.2% Pe MW/min, and the rate of load reduction should not exceed 0.8% Pe MW/min. This paper applies the covariance index and AGC assessment index of the thermal power unit load control system to the established dynamic simulation model to supplement the AGC assessment index in the "two regulations", and to provide a flexible and reasonable system evaluation result for field operators to refer to, so as to improve the economics of the system on the basis of safety. Transitional shale gas, rich in resources, is expected to be a practical contributor to the increase in shale gas reserves and production in China. Its exploration prospect has been demonstrated by several wells in the Daning-Jixian block on the eastern margin of the Ordos Basin. In this paper, the Lower Permian Shanxi Formation (P1s) and Taiyuan Formation (P1t) in the eastern margin of Ordos Basin were compared for organic geochemical parameters, revealing that the overflow fan + lagoon combination (OLC) of the third sub-member of the second member of Shanxi Formation (P1s23) and the marine + lagoon combination (MLC) of the first member of Taiyuan Formation (P1t1) are the most favorable shale gas intervals. The two intervals were comparatively analyzed with respect to mineral composition, brittleness, caprocks, and preservation conditions. It is found that the OLC of P1s23 has a similar porosity to and much lower permeability than the MLC of P1t1 (or MLC1) and a BET surface area of 10–15 m2/g, which is smaller than the MLC1 (15–20 m2/g). Moreover, OLC has a brittle mineral content equivalent to MLC1 but a brittleness index of 33.73–62.36 (avg. 49.86), smaller than MLC1 (53.34–58.27, or avg. 55.85). OLC contains sandstones at both the roof and floor, with a higher permeability than shale in the interval, which cannot serve as good physical seals. In contrast, MLC1 contains limestones with lower permeability at the roof and floor, which, together with the overlying coal seams, have hydrocarbon generation capacity and can physically seal the MLC1 shale but also fill it with hydrocarbons, making MLC1 have higher gas content and superior for shale gas exploration than the OLC shale. Due to the multi-lithologies developed in transitional facies, besides the organic matter enrichment, and reservoir characteristics, it is necessary to find a suitable lithological combination to ensure the gas in shale can be better preserved and retained. Coal resources perform an important role in China's energy structure. Hydraulic support is the main supporting equipment of fully mechanized mining face in coal mines. Because the hydraulic support frequently bears the impact pressure from the working face, it is very easy to cause failure of the balance jack. In order to solve the problem that the balance jack easily damaged by impact and improve the impact resistance of the hydraulic support, an improved fast response balance jack with multiple adaptive buffers was proposed in this paper. The energy dissipation characteristics of the balance jack were analyzed by establishing the mathematical model of the multiple buffering process of it. Based on ADAMS, the dynamic simulation model of the hydraulic support was constructed, and the mechanical response characteristics of the proposed balance jack and the traditional balance jack under different impact loads were compared and analyzed. By changing the equivalent stiffness of the novel balance jack system, the influence of different initial inflation pressure and length of the buffer cavity on the dynamic performance of the novel balance jack was discussed. The results show that compared with the traditional balance jack, the multi-adaptive response balance jack proposed in this paper can reduce the peak force of the hinge point by about 24.6% and the fluctuation frequency was also significantly reduced under the ultimate load condition at the front end of the top beam, which has better impact resistance. When the initial inflation pressure of the buffer cavity is 40~45 MPa and the initial length is less than 105 mm, a better buffer effect can be achieved. This study provides a new solution to solve the failure problem of the balance jack under the underground impact pressure and improve the safety and reliability of hydraulic support. The goal of reaching the peak of carbon in the construction industry is urgent. However, the research on the feasibility of realizing this goal and the implementation of relevant policies in China is relatively superficial. In view of the historical data of energy consumption and building CO2 emission from 1995 to 2019, this paper establishes a BP neural network model for predicting building CO2 emissions. Moreover, the influencing factors, such as population, GDP, and total construction output, are introduced as the parameters in the model. Through the scenario analysis method explores the practical path to accomplish the peak of building CO2 emissions. When using traditional prediction methods to predict building carbon emissions, the long prediction cycle will increase the possibility of significant errors. Therefore, this paper constructs the calculation model of building carbon emission and forecasts the future carbon emission value through the BP neural network to avoid the error caused by the nonlinear relationship between influencing factors and predicted value. It will effectively predict the feasibility of the carbon peak and the carbon-neutral target set by government, and provide a useful predictive tool for adjusting the new energy structure and formulating related emission reduction policies. The lower price of energy leads to higher coal consumption in China. The idea of an "environment-for-trade policy" could be used to achieve an international competitive advantage, which, in turn, has important implications. To address the issue, we develop properties to examine the link between the low price of energy and strategic environmental policy in China and investigate the choice of policy instruments in a strategic environmental policy model with vertical contracts. In addition, to contribute to the literature on strategic environmental policy, this paper also develops properties to investigate different choices of instruments for the environmental policy and includes the degree of energy marketization for the wholesale price in the study. To do so, we assume that the wholesale price of the polluting input increases with the market price. By using this assumption, this paper analyzes the effects of two instruments of the environmental policy on social welfare and concludes that there is no reason to expect both downstream and upstream firms to establish a high wholesale price. Due to the low level of marketization, when the government selects an emission tax as the policy instrument, the optimal tax rates should be higher than the marginal damage of emissions. However, the optimal resource tax is uncertain when its effect on environmental damage is taken into account. In other words, the resource tax is ineffective as a policy instrument. Our results can be used to draw some practical policies for countries to use their energy effectively. With the rapid development of China's economy, China has become the world's largest carbon emitter. China not only has an obvious growth rate of industrial carbon emissions but also the intensity of agricultural carbon emissions is hovering at a high level. The development of China's agricultural economy has largely come at the expense of high emissions. Currently, under the background of global warming and difficulty in controlling greenhouse gas emissions, the development of low-carbon agriculture is an important way to realize the harmonious development of the ecological environment and economic growth and to promote the sustainable development of agriculture. The agricultural production efficiency is the main factor affecting the intensity of agricultural carbon emissions. Based on provincial panel data of China from 2010 to 2019, this paper establishes an indicator system and uses the super-efficiency SBM model to measure agricultural production efficiency. The regional agricultural carbon emissions were estimated using carbon-emission-related agricultural production activities. In order to study the nonlinear relationship between agricultural production efficiency and agricultural carbon emission intensity in the narrow sense, this paper uses a threshold regression model with agricultural carbon emissions as the threshold variable. Based on the analysis of China's agricultural production efficiency and agricultural carbon emissions from 2010 to 2019, an empirical test is conducted through a threshold regression model. The results show an "inverted U-shaped" relationship between agricultural production efficiency and agricultural carbon emission intensity. In areas with high agricultural production efficiency, the improvement of production efficiency can suppress the intensity of agricultural carbon emissions; in areas with low agricultural production efficiency, the improvement of production efficiency increases the intensity of agricultural carbon emissions. Finally, based on the research conclusions, this paper provides feasible suggestions and countermeasures for China's agricultural carbon emission reduction and improvement of agricultural production efficiency. With the increasing severity of climate change, the power industry, as one of the main sources of carbon emissions, is playing an extremely important role in the process of low-carbon energy transformation. The purpose of this paper is to try to find a general method to solve the optimal path for the low-carbon evolution of the power supply structure so as to meet the challenges faced by the low-carbon transformation of the power industry in the future. This paper first uses the capacity coefficient index (CCI) to represent the power generation ability of different technologies and proposes a forecasting method for the CCI of renewable energy generation. In this paper, a two-layer optimization model considering multiple constraints is established and solved using the MPC method. The results show that China's installed capacity of renewable power could account for more than 50% in 2030, while the carbon emissions will decrease after reaching a peak in 2023. On the premise of ensuring sufficient reserve adjustment capacity of thermal power units, increasing the proportion of renewable energy generation is an important way to realize emission reduction in the power industry. The reduction of carbon emissions in the power industry will play a vital role in global decarbonization. The power industry has three main strategies to achieve this reduction in emissions: to implement lean marketing strategies that effectively target users of power and encourage them to adopt decarbonizing technologies and services; to optimize the efficiency of these users of power; and to improve the efficiency of renewable energy sources. This paper establishes a comprehensive evaluation system of indexed data from power industry customers for the development of lean marketing strategies. This system evaluates indexes derived from customer data on renewable energy sources, carbon emissions, energy efficiency, and customer credit. It adopts the DEMATEL–CRITIC combination weight assignment and VIKOR method for system evaluation and conducts simulation experiments on customer data in a region of Northeastern China to give an example of how this method could be applied in practice to lean marketing. With the improvement of natural gas network interconnection, the network topology becomes increasingly complex. The significance of analyzing topology is gradually becoming prominent, and a systematic analysis method is required. This paper selects two typical natural gas pipeline networks: one in Europe, and the other in North China. Based on complex network theory and the nature of natural gas pipelines, topological models for the two typical networks were established and the evaluation indexes were developed based on four factors: network type, overall topological structure characteristics, path-related topological structure characteristics, and topological structure robustness. Using these indexes, the topological structure of the two typical networks is compared and analyzed quantitatively. The comparison shows that the European network topology has more redundancy, higher transmission efficiency, and greater robustness. The topology analysis method proposed in this paper is practical and suitable for the preliminary analysis of natural gas pipeline networks. The conclusions achieved by this method can assist operators in gaining an intuitive understanding of the overall characteristics, robustness, and key features of pipeline network topology, which is useful in the implementation of hierarchical prevention and control. It also serves as a solid theoretical foundation and guidance for network expansion, interconnection construction, and precise hydraulic simulation calculation in the next stage. The income gap and global warming have always been topics of common concern to scholars worldwide. Internationally, there is no consensus yet about the impact of the income gap on carbon emissions, and there are few studies about that in China. To explore the effect of the income gap on carbon emissions at the provincial level in China, this paper first theoretically and qualitatively analyzes the non-linear impact of the income gap on carbon emissions. Then, the Gini coefficient of the resident income of different regions in China from 2010 to 2019 is calculated. Finally, a threshold regression model is used to quantitatively test the existence of a threshold effect between the income gap and carbon emission intensity in China. The threshold value is the per capita disposable income of residents. The results show that the income gap is positively related to carbon emission intensity in poor regions. In high-income areas, the widening income gap inhibits the increase in carbon emission intensity. China agricultural development has been facing the problem of resource constraints because its resources per capita such as land and energy are relatively lower than the global average. By applying the provincial agricultural panel data from 2000 to 2015 and fixed effect model based on the translog production function, this paper estimates both output elasticities and substitution elasticities of agricultural inputs, which may provide insights into sustainable agricultural development. The results show that, except for capital, the output elasticities of other production factors are all positive. Energy has always played an important role in agricultural production, whose elasticity in agriculture increased from 0.0203 in 2000 to 0.1694 in 2015. We also find a severe scarcity of land, and the high intensity of energy in the field of agriculture. Moreover, there exists a substitute relationship between all factors, which means that in the short term, one production factor can be employed to replace another to maintain agricultural development. From the empirical results of this paper, some policy suggestions are proposed as follows: it is crucial that more attention should be placed on land and to plan energy use wisely. In addition, on account of the current situation in China, the input of labor force should be stepped up and energy should be used more efficiently to make up for the shortage of land resources. In the study of the water–energy–food nexus (WEF nexus), the importance of the intensity and quantity index system has been widely recognized. In order to study the impact of WEF on the economy, this paper establishes an intensity index system and a quantity index system, taking account of the impact of environmental pollution. Using a DEA model and China's provincial data from 2019, this paper calculated the efficiency of the WEF nexus with the developed intensity and quantity index systems. The results show that the efficiency is not high in areas with a high economic development level, and efficiency is not the lowest in areas with a relatively low economic development level. When considering environmental pollution, the efficiency of some provinces has increased significantly, indicating that the WEF nexus has not caused environmental damage and is conducive to sustainable economic development. In the two intensity index systems, the efficiency of the production system is significantly lower than that of the consumption system, indicating that there is a serious waste of cultivated land per capita. Compared with the intensity index system, the efficiency of the quantity index system is low, and the polarization is obvious. A high level of GDP does not mean a high level of economic development. There may be a low level of resource utilization technology or environmental pollution underlying it. It is unscientific to evaluate local economic development only by GDP. When evaluating the urban economy and national economy, we should conduct an overall study of WEF and reasonably allocate WEF resources, which will not only help to alleviate the current situation of resource shortage in various countries but also effectively promote the coordinated development of national and regional economies. At the same time, environmental protection should also be taken into account. China is one of the world's largest energy consumers and carbon emitters, and the situation of carbon emission reduction is serious. This paper forecasts the future trend of China's carbon emissions by constructing a system dynamics model of China's carbon emissions. The results show that China cannot fulfill its commitment to peak its carbon emissions in 2030 as scheduled. Secondly, the Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index model (LMDI) was used to analyze the influencing factors of China's carbon emissions. The contribution rates of the five factors to China's carbon emissions are as follows: economic development (226.30%), technological innovation (−105.92%), industrial structure (−26.55%), population scale (11.44%) and energy structure (−5.28%). Finally, this paper formulates five carbon emission reduction paths according to the size and direction of various factors that affect China's carbon emissions. The paths of carbon emission reduction were simulated by using the system dynamics model of China's carbon emissions. It is found that technological innovation is the key pathway for China to realize its commitment to carbon emission reduction. Slowing economic growth will delay the arrival time of peak carbon emissions and increase the intensity of carbon emissions. Optimizing the industrial structure, reducing the population scale and adjusting the energy structure can reduce the peak and carbon emissions in China, but the effect is small. Carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals have proposed by many countries, including China. Meanwhile, China has also proposed the construction of a new-type electric power system with new energy as the main body, which will have great impacts on coal-fired power generation enterprises. The transformation of coal-fired power enterprises is imperative, and the evaluation of the organizational performance of coal-fired power enterprises is urgent, which can accurately determine the development status and even can find issues related to the transformation of coal-fired power enterprises. In this paper, a hybrid evaluation model is proposed based on the Variational Auto-Encoder algorithm and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method improved by a vague set to comprehensively evaluate the organizational performance of coal-fired power enterprises. Eight coal-fired power enterprises in North China are selected for empirical analysis. The results show that the YC coal-fired power enterprise has the best organizational performance, while the NK coal-fired power enterprise has the worst organizational performance. Moreover, sensitivity and comparative analyses are carried out to verify the robustness of the evaluation result using the proposed hybrid method in this paper. The zirconia solid electrolyte SOFC (solid oxide fuel cell) has the characteristics of oxygen ion conduction function, high-temperature resistance, thermoelectric coupling effect, etc. A NOx sensor based on zirconia solid electrolyte has common characteristics and problems with the SOFC in principle and application. The research objective of this paper is to solve the application problems of smart NOx sensors in diesel vehicles or gasoline vehicles. Improvements in the application performance of the NOx sensor can help the NOx emissions of gasoline vehicles or diesel vehicles better meet the requirements of emission regulations. The smart NOx sensor is a regulatory sensor required by vehicles for China's Phase VI Vehicle Exhaust Emission Regulations or Euro Phase VI Vehicle Exhaust Emission Regulations. The smart NOx sensor is a key sensor device for improving fuel efficiency and reducing pollution. Moreover, its measurement performance includes dynamic immunity to interference, response speed, and measurement accuracy, which are key factors affecting vehicle emissions. This paper focuses on the impact of the physical structure, electrode characteristics, and control strategies of the sensor on its performance during the application. An excellent sensor structure, electrode structure, and control strategy are given based on application analysis and experimental testing. Marginal abatement cost (MAC) plays an essential role in pricing pollutants and guiding environmental policies. Considering the heavy polluting nature of China's coal power industry, this paper aims at providing companies and policymakers with more comprehensive information on the cost of abatement by estimating the MACs of CO2 and SO2 for coal-fired power plants (CFPPs) in China. This study contributes to the literature by considering an interconnected two-stage production system to investigate. The estimation framework is advanced in combining the electricity production and pollution abatement process of CFPPs into a convex quantile regression (CQR) model. The results show that the averages of MAC for CO2 and SO2 are estimated to be 367.56 Yuan/ton and 662.30 Yuan/ton, respectively, indicating that the reduction of such emissions is still costly. The heterogeneous analysis then indicates that large CFPPs, central-government-owned power plants (CGOPPs), and low-regulated CFPPs tend to possess lower MACs for CO2. Regarding SO2, large and medium-sized power plants show significantly larger MACs than small plants. In addition, the MACs of SO2 for CGOPPs and high-regulated CFPPs are more concentrated at high levels. In the second part, the Tobit regression analysis was used to discuss the determinants of MACs for CO2 and SO2. Factors like carbon emission intensity, load, and operating hours can notably decrease MACs for CO2, while MACs for SO2 tend to be positively affected by the total abatement cost and the abatement rate of the FGD equipment. In addition, the MACs for the large CFPPs, CGOPPs, and high-regulated CFPPs are more likely to be affected by the selected influence factors. This paper explores the effect of carbon trading on low-carbon transformation of high energy consumption enterprises in China. Based on the mechanism of interaction and restriction among high energy consumption enterprises, carbon verification agencies and the government, a tripartite evolutionary game model is constructed. The three-dimensional dynamic system is built to analyze the behavior patterns of the three parties. The evolution path of the tripartite game is visualized, and the low-carbon transformation states of high energy consumption enterprises in different situations are described. The results show that the high energy consumption enterprises, verification organization and the government cannot reach the optimal game equilibrium (low-carbon transformation, verification and supervision) temporarily when seeking their own interests. The corresponding measures should be taken with different situations of the tripartite game. With the continuous promotion of China's electricity market reform, the introduction of competition in the power generation market provides a new research direction for the generation expansion planning (GEP) problem, which is of great significance in the promotion of the optimization of the power energy structure. In the context of marketization, the electricity price expectation during the planning period is a key factor of GEP for independent power generation groups. There is some literature showing that the electricity price expectation in the planning period can be estimated according to certain laws of market supply and demand, while it seems to us that a future Pay as Bid (PAB) mechanism is better to determine the electricity price expectation. In this paper, to explore the impact of these two different electricity price formation mechanisms on the evolution of the generation market, a multi-agent framework is first established to describe the interaction process among the generation market agents; then, a GEP model for independent power generation groups is developed in the market competition environment, and four representative scenarios are finally designed for detailed comparative studies. Based on these case studies, the conclusion can be summarized as: (1) the PAB bidding mechanism has a lower electricity price and higher market installed capacity almost all the time during the whole planning period for all four scenarios; (2) it is more important that PAB can reduce the impact of parameter uncertainty in the laws of market supply and demand, which can obtain more reliable and reasonable results regarding the long-term evolution of the generation market. This study examines the extent to which electricity shortage influences technical efficiency using data of 805 listed manufacturing companies in China from 2009 to 2020 collected from the CSMAR database. To achieve the objectives of this paper, first, a stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) is used to estimate the technical efficiency (TE) score of manufacturing companies. Subsequently, the TE score is used to evaluate the electricity shortage index and other factors that are postulated to affect enterprise productivity. Two estimation methods have been adopted including ordinary least squares (OLS), which is less robust to endogeneity and instrumental variable (IV) estimation, which turns out to be more robust to endogeneity in the data. The empirical results show that, under OLS estimation, electricity shortage has a significantly negative impact on the technical efficiency of the listed manufacturing companies. However, when IV regression is implemented to address endogeneity issues in the data, electricity shortages tend to have a significantly positive impact on the technical efficiency, underscoring the importance of capturing endogeneity in the data. Extending the baseline results, this study also finds that, while the size of an enterprise may have no bearing, state-owned companies are more likely to be negatively affected by electricity shortages compared to privately owned companies. These results have significant implications for industrial policy design in China in particular, and developing countries in general. In recent years, with the increasing impact of extreme weather events on energy security, energy vulnerability has increased significantly, and more and more international institutions and departments have begun to incorporate resilience governance into energy security. This paper focuses on China's inter-provincial energy security assessment. Compared with existing relevant research, the significant features of our work are (i) introducing the concept of energy resilience and presenting its evolution mechanism and evaluation criteria, (ii) developing a gray relational projection model by using the level difference maximization and optimization theory, (iii) measuring the energy resilience of 30 Chinese provinces over space and time. Our results show that the spatial–temporal patterns of energy resilience in China changed significantly from 2005 to 2018. High energy resilience moved from provinces with abundant nonrenewable energy before 2010 to provinces with high energy diversity. Energy endowment is a primary condition to ensure a region's energy resilience. Renewable energy development, energy investment, economic development, and policy coordination play vital roles in ensuring regional energy resilience. Energy investment and economic development can effectively improve the energy resilience of resource-poor areas. The issue of renewable energy curtailment poses a crucial challenge to its effective utilization. To address this challenge, mitigating the impact of the intermittency and volatility of wind and solar energy is essential. In this context, this paper employs scenario analysis to examine the complementary features of wind and solar hybrid systems. Firstly, the study defines two types of complementary indicators that distinguish between output smoothing and source-load matching. Secondly, a novel method for generating wind and solar output scenarios based on improved Generative Adversarial Networks is presented and compared against the conventional Monte Carlo and Copula function methods. Lastly, the generated wind and solar scenarios are employed to furnish complementary features. The testing results across eight regions indicate the proposed scenario generation method proficiently depicts the historical relevance as well as future uncertainties. This study found that compared to the Copula function method, the root mean square error of the generated data was reduced by 4% and 3.4% for independent and hybrid systems, respectively. Moreover, combining these two resources in most regions showed that the total output smoothness and source-load matching level cannot be enhanced simultaneously. CO2 geological storage projects are an essential tool for China to achieve the double carbon target of energy savings and emission reductions. In order to safely and effectively control the implementation of injection projects and monitor the dynamics of CO2 injection, multi-dimensional and multi-disciplinary monitoring tools are required. Among them, microseismic monitoring is a key technology for predicting reservoir dynamics and reflecting reservoir geomechanical behavior. Such monitoring has been carried out previously for reservoirs in other countries, but experimental projects are also gradually being developed in China. In this paper, we focus on the research and analysis results of microseismic monitoring of carbon storage projects in various work areas. For different reservoir conditions, we explore combinations of the monitoring implementation methods in China, comparing the differences in each work area. We propose a joint well and ground microseismic monitoring method and a multi-spatial and multi-physical field coupling research system for use in the implementation of domestic demo projects for the future research and development of microseismic monitoring of carbon storage projects. The monitoring program can meet the requirements for certain periodic repeated or continuous observations and can intelligently assess the risk and handle the alert behavior. The foundation is laid for the development of the future microseismic monitoring technology to achieve the goal of developing cost-controllable, permanent, and real-time monitoring equipment. The natatorium's ventilation problem receives much concern because of its large wet load. The outdoor humidity ratio in transition season is the basic design parameter of the ventilation calculation, directly affecting the rationality of architectural design. At present, the ventilation-curve (V-C) method is the most widely used method to determine the outdoor humidity ratio in the transition season in China. However, due to failing to reflect non-guaranteed hours, the rationality of this value is difficult to assess by employing this approach. This paper presents a new method, the typical transition season method (TTS), for determining the outdoor humidity ratio in the transition season of a natatorium. The TTS method selects the transition season based on the typical meteorological year (TMY) data and calculates the outdoor humidity ratio with multiple non-guaranteed hours. This can well-represent the local perennial climate characteristics and clearly reflect the non-guaranteed hours. In this study, through selecting six typical representative cities in China, the evaluation of the outdoor humidity ratio is achieved through calculating ventilation volume and air change rate, verifying the rationality of this method. The results show that the humidity ratio obtained by the V-C method is lower than that obtained by the TTS method at about 2 g/kg without guarantee of 200 h humidity ratio, and even that the maximum difference is 6.64 g/kg. Meanwhile, the validation results of the ventilation calculation show that the humidity ratio determined by the V-C method cannot meet the minimum design requirements in five cities, while the humidity ratio obtained by the TTS method cannot meet the requirements in only one city. Solutions for the maintenance of safety in an isolated working face has not been well achieved; this is attributed to its unique overburden structure and the strong mining-induced stress during the advancement. This paper is devoted to filling this research gap and is based on the case study of LW 10304 in the Xinglongzhuang Coal Mine, in China. The overburden structure and stress distribution characteristics of this isolated working face were theoretically investigated, followed by the development of a comprehensive identification method. The research results showed the following: (1) The overburden strata of LW 10304 is in the form of a short "T" shape and the stress increment is featured with the overall "saddle" shape before the extraction of the isolated working face. During this period, the lower key strata and main key strata affect the stress level at the two ends and the central part of the working face, respectively; (2) Both the frequency and energy of micro-earthquakes in the working face account for more than 95%, which is positively correlated with roof damage and rib spalling, associated with some overlaps between the damaged zones; (3) The fracture movement of inferior key strata near the coal seam plays a dominant role in affecting microseism activity and mining-induced stress. The microseism energy attributed to roof breakage accounts for 43.34% of the overall energy; (4) A comprehensive indexing system, covering microseism frequency, microseism energy, and support resistance, was established to identify the mining-induced stress intensity of the isolated working face. The early warning efficiency of the "strong" degree of mining-induced stress is 0.94, which is believed to provide an option for other isolated working faces with similar geological and mining conditions. Predicting the spatial distribution of braided fluvial facies reservoirs is of paramount significance for oil and gas exploration and development. Given that seismic materials enjoy an advantage in dense spatial sampling, many methods have been proposed to predict the reservoir distribution based on different seismic attributes. Nevertheless, different seismic attributes have different sensitivities to the reservoirs, and informational redundancy between them makes it difficult to combine them effectively. Regarding reservoir modeling, multi-point geostatistics represents the distribution characteristics of the braided fluvial facies reservoirs effectively. Despite this, it is very difficult to build high-quality training images. Hence, this paper proposes a three-step method of predicting braided fluvial facies reservoirs based on probability fusion and multi-point geostatistics. Firstly, similar statistical data of modern sedimentation and field paleo-outcrops were processed under the guidance of the sedimentation pattern to construct reservoir training images suitable for the target stratum in the research area. Secondly, each linear combination of selected seismic attributes was demarcated to calculate the principal component value and work out the elementary conditional probability. Lastly, the PR probability integration approach was employed to combine all conditional probabilities and calculate the joint probability. Then the joint probability was combined with training images to build a reservoir distribution model through multi-point geostatistics. We illustrated the detailed workflow of our new method by applying it to a braided fluvial reservoir modeling case in the Bohai Bay Basin, East China. The new method reduced the error of prediction results by 32% and 46% respectively, and the error of water content by 36.5% and 60.3%. This method is a potentially effective technique to predict and characterize the reservoir spatial distribution and modeling in other oil fields with the same geological background. This paper evaluated the oil and gas potential of the Cretaceous Yageliemu clastic reservoir within the Yakela condensed gas field lying in the Kuqa Depression, Tarim Basin, China. The petrophysical properties of the interest zones in the Kuqa area were characterized using geophysical logs from five wells. The results reveal that the gas-bearing zones are characterized by high resistivity, good permeability (K) and effective porosity (Φeff), low water saturation (Sw), and low shale concentration (Vsh), reflecting clean sand. The shale distribution model showed that these shales have no major influence on porosity and fluid saturation. The average shale volume, average effective porosity, and hydrocarbon saturation indicate that the Cretaceous Yageliemu Formation in the studied area contains prospective reservoir properties. The spatial distribution of petrophysical parameters, reservoir rock typing (RRT), and lithofacies were analyzed using the cross plots of litho saturation (volumetric analysis), iso-parametric representations of the petrophysical characteristics, cluster analysis, and self-organizing feature maps, respectively. The southeastern and northeastern regions of the research area should be ignored because of their high water and shale concentrations. The sediments in the southwest and northwest include the most potential reservoir intervals that should be considered for the future exploration and development of oil and gas fields in the study area. With the centralization of wind power development, power-prediction technology based on wind power clusters has become an important means to reduce the volatility of wind power, so a large-scale power-prediction method of wind power clusters is proposed considering the prediction stability. Firstly, the fluctuating features of wind farms are constructed by acquiring statistical features to further build a divided model of wind power clusters using fuzzy clustering algorithm. Then the spatiotemporal features of the data of wind power are obtained using a spatiotemporal attention network to train the prediction model of wind power clusters in a large scale. Finally, the stability of predictive performance of wind power is analyzed using the comprehensive index evaluation system. The results show that the RMSE of wind power prediction is lower than 0.079 at large-scale wind farms based on the prediction method of wind power proposed in this paper using experience based on the data of 159 wind farms in the Nei Monggol Autonomous Region in China and the extreme error is better than 25% for the total capacity of wind farms, which indicates high stability and accuracy. China has abundant coal resources, and the distribution of coal seams is complex. Thick coal seams account for more than 45% of all coal seams. Fully mechanized top coal caving mining has the advantages of large production, high efficiency, and low cost. In fully mechanized caving mining, especially in fully mechanized caving mining of extra-thick coal seams, the mining space is ample, the mine pressure is severe, and the roadway maintenance is complex. As a result, it is necessary to summarize and discuss the gob-side entry driving of fully mechanized caving in theory and technology, which will help to promote the further development of fully mechanized caving gob-side entry driving technology. First, in recent years, the research hotspots of gob-side entry driving have focused on the deformation mechanism and the control method of the roadway surrounding rock. Secondly, this paper discusses the theoretical models of the "triangle-block" and "beam" for the activity law of the overlying strata in gob-side entry driving, including the lateral breaking "large structure" model, compound key triangle block structure model in the middle and low position, the high and low right angle key block stability mechanics model, elastic foundation beam model, low-level combined cantilever beam + high-level multilayer masonry beam structure model, and the vertical triangular slip zone structure model. It introduces the "internal and external stress field theory" and the "stress limit equilibrium zone model". Thirdly, it summarizes several numerical simulation analysis methods in different conditions or research focuses and selects appropriate constitutive models and simulation software. The regulation of the seasonal energy supply for natural gas and the storage of fossil energy are important to society. To achieve it, storing a large amount of natural gas in porous underground media is one of the government's choices. Due to the successful lesson learned from the oil and gas industry, natural gas storage in underground porous media has been regarded as the most potential long−term energy storage method. In this paper, we developed a new workflow to evaluate the performance of gas reservoir−type underground natural gas storage (UGS). The theoretical background of this workflow includes the correction of the average formation pressure (AFP) and gas deviation factor by error theory and the analytical mathematical model of UGS wells. The Laplace transform, line source function, and Stehfest numerical inversion methods were used to obtain pressure solutions for typical vertical and horizontal wells in UGS. The pressure superposition principle and weighting method of the gas injection−withdrawal rate were used to obtain the AFP. Through the correction of the AFP and gas deviation factor in the material balance equation, the parameters for inventory, effective inventory (the movable gas volume at standard condition), working gas volume (the movable gas volume is operated from the upper limit pressure to the lower limit pressure), and effective gas storage volume (the available gas storage volume at reservoir condition) were determined. Numerical data from the numerical simulator was used to verify the proposed model pressure solution. Actual data from China's largest Hutubi UGS was used to illustrate the reliability of the proposed workflow in UGS performance evaluation. The results show that large−scale gas injection and withdrawal rates lead to composite heterogeneity in gas storage wells. The nine injection and production cycles' pressure and effective inventory changes from Hutubi UGS can be divided into a period of rapid pressure rise and a period of slow pressure increase. The final AFP is 32.8 MPa. The final inventory of the Hutubi UGS is 100.1 × 108 m3, with a capacity filling rate (the ratio of effective inventory to designed gas storage capacity) of 93.6%. The effective inventory is 95.3 × 108 m3, and the inventory utilization ratio (the ratio of effective inventory to inventory) is 95.2%. The working gas volume is 40.3 × 108 m3. China's Yangtze River Basin has an increasingly strong demand for crude oil. As a seaborne import port for crude oil, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port is under pressure to undertake the transshipment of crude oil to various oil terminals in the Yangtze River Basin. To alleviate the stress of crude oil transportation in Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, the port operator proposed the crude oil sea–river transshipment scheme in Nantong Port. Therefore, this paper aims to verify the feasibility of this scheme. We used the discrete event system modeling and entity relationship diagram method to construct the hierarchical and concept models of the Yangtze River Basin's crude oil sea–river transportation system. Furthermore, we developed corresponding simulation modules on the Witness platform and carried out a simulation experiment of the crude oil sea–river transfer scheme. In the experiment, we analyzed the influence of the transshipment ratio on berth utilization, waiting time, and sailing time of other ports by adjusting the parameter of the transshipment ratio. The experimental results show that when the transshipment rate reaches 100%, the utilization rates of loading and unloading berth in Nantong Port are 4% and 13%, respectively, which evidences that Nantong Port has transshipment potential. At the same time, the simulation experiment's statistical indicators, such as the utilization rate of oil berths, the queuing time of oil tankers, and the sailing time, not only confirm the feasibility of the crude oil sea–river transshipment scheme of Nantong Port but also confirm that the scheme is helpful to improve crude oil transportation efficiency. China has adopted a gradualism principle in establishing its carbon emission trading system from the regional pilot markets to a national one. In view of the huge market potential and large differences across China, this paper applies the cointegration test and VECM (Vector Error Correction Model) to investigate the long-run trends and the price dynamics of regional pilot markets. The results show that the prices of the regional pilot markets form three long-run trends exhibit mean-reversion patterns. The launch of the national market marks the different performance of regional pilot markets. After the launch of the national market, the number of long-run trends reduces from three to one and the severity of the mean-reversion patterns is eased, indicating the efficiency improvement in China's carbon market from a fragmented toward a unified market. Similar to many energy projects, the evaluation of investments in natural gas projects is influenced by technical and economic uncertainties. These uncertainties include natural resource characteristics, production, decline laws, prices, taxes, benchmark yield, and so on. In China, conventional natural gas is still the dominant energy source. The investors are mainly large state-owned energy companies. Therefore, it is necessary to include the technical and economic uncertainties, as well as the investment decision and optimization problems of the enterprises in a unified analytical framework. To this end, this paper innovatively constructs such a framework. Using numerical simulations of approaches, the process of investment decision optimization by companies based on technology assessment and price forecasting is visualized in detail. The results suggest that the investment decision of the enterprise needs to consider technical and economic uncertainties in an integrated manner. It also needs to combine the business strategy and social responsibility of the enterprise in order to construct the objective function. With the availability of data, the framework and its algorithms can be used for practical evaluation of investment plans and decision supports for conventional natural gas projects. Due to the emission of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, the global climate is warming. As the world's biggest emitter of carbon emissions, China faces a more severe challenge in reducing carbon emissions than developed countries. A reasonable prediction of the carbon peak in China will help the government to formulate effective emission reduction paths. This paper analyzes the changes in carbon emissions in China from 2004 to 2020, uses the STIRPAT model and scenario analysis method to predict carbon emissions from 2021 to 2030, and then calculates the carbon efficiency during carbon peaking to select the most effective carbon peak path for China. The results show that China's carbon emissions increased year by year from 2004 to 2020. Under the baseline scenario, China is unlikely to reach its carbon peak before 2030. Under the regulatory scenarios, China can reach its carbon peak before 2030. The peak values from high to low are seen with the rapid development-weak carbon control scenario, rapid development-intensified carbon control scenario, slow development-weak carbon control scenario and slow development-intensified carbon control scenario, respectively. Correspondingly, China will peak its carbon emissions in 2029, 2028, 2028 and 2028, respectively, according to these scenarios. The carbon efficiency under the rapid development-weak carbon control scenario is the highest, which means that accelerating the growth rate of population, GDP and urbanization while moderately carrying out the transformation of industrial structure and energy structure is an effective way to achieve the goal of "carbon peak by 2030". This paper discusses how the incorporation of high-resolution ground coverage dataset ESA WorldCover into a wind flow field and wake simulation calculation, as well as the use of the coupled wake model for wind farm output simulation, can improve the accuracy of wind resource assessment using engineering examples. In the actual case of grid-connected wind farms in central China, SCADA wind speed data is reconstructed to the free flow wind speed in front of the wind turbine impeller using the transfer function of the nacelle, and the wind farm is modeled using OpenWind software, simulating the wind speed at the height of each wind turbine hub and each wind turbine output. The results show that when other initial data are consistent, using ESA's high-precision land cover dataset WorldCover 10 m to make roughness lengths which improves the wind farm output simulation accuracy by 8.91%, showing that it is worth trying to apply WorldCover 10 m to the wind farm simulation design. At the same time, this case is used to compare and analyze the application of the Eddy-Viscosity wake model and the two coupled wake models based on the Eddy-Viscosity wake model. The results show that the coupled wake model will have higher accuracy than the Deep Array Eddy Viscosity wake model and it is 1.24% more accurate than the Eddy Viscosity wake model, and the ASM Eddy Viscosity wake model is 5.21% more accurate than the Eddy Viscosity wake model. Fuel cells, as key carriers for hydrogen energy development and utilization, provide a vital opportunity to achieve zero-emission energy use and have thus attracted considerable attention from fundamental research to industrial application levels. Considering the current status of fuel cell technology and the industry, this paper presents a systematic elaboration of progress and development trends in fuel cell core components and key materials, such as stacks, bipolar plates, membrane electrodes, proton exchange membranes, catalysts, gas diffusion layers, air compressors, and hydrogen circulation systems. In addition, some proposals for the development of fuel cell vehicles in China are presented, based on the analysis of current supporting policies, standards, and regulations, along with manufacturing costs in China. The fuel cell industry of China is still in the budding stage of development and thus suffers some challenges, such as lagging fundamental systems, imperfect standards and regulations, high product costs, and uncertain technical safety and stability levels. Therefore, to accelerate the development of the hydrogen energy and fuel cell vehicle industry, it is an urgent need to establish a complete supporting policy system, accelerate technical breakthroughs, transformations, and applications of key materials and core components, and reduce the cost of hydrogen use. The underground gas storage (UGS) in depleted sandstone reservoirs forms the largest proportion of the UGS market in China. Multiple cycles of natural gas injection and production in the sandstone cause the rapid increase and drawdown of pore pressure, which may induce damage to the rock skeleton structure, and cause complex fluid flow paths in the sandstone reservoir. In this paper, transverse relaxation time (T2), nuclear magnetism resonance imaging, and high-pressure mercury intrusion analysis are combined to evaluate the variation in pore structure of medium-grained sandstone. The results show that cyclic injection and production of fluid leads to a slight increase in total pore volume, indicating that weak damage to rocks occurs. The T2 spectrum at the low pore pressure (10 MPa) and high pore pressure (25 MPa) both show that the shrinkage of the medium-size pores occurs after multiple cycles of injection and production. The pore volume of large-size pores was not highly correlated with the number of cycles. With the increase in pore pressure, the pore volume ratio under high pore pressure increased with the number of cycles, while it fluctuated strongly under low pore pressure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The fluctuation and uncertainty of the electricity load bring challenges to load forecasting. Traditional point forecasting struggles to avoid errors, and pure interval forecasting may cause the problem of too wide an interval. In this paper, we combine point forecasting and interval forecasting and propose a point-interval forecasting model for electricity load based on regular fluctuation component extraction. Firstly, the variational modal decomposition is combined with the sample entropy to decompose the original load series into a strong regular fluctuation component and a weak regular fluctuation component. Then, the gate recurrent unit neural network is used for point forecasting of the strong regular fluctuation component, and the support vector quantile regression model is used for interval forecasting of the weak regular fluctuation component, and the results are accumulated to obtain the final forecasting intervals. Finally, experiments were conducted using electricity load data from two regional electricity grids in Shaanxi Province, China. The results show that combining the idea of point interval, point forecasting, and interval forecasting for components with different fluctuation regularity can effectively reduce the forecasting interval width while having high accuracy. China and Russia have different interests in the Arctic but are forced to look for possible ways of cooperation in energy projects in the current external conditions. This changes the priorities of both countries and, accordingly, transforms the risks. Objectives of the research: to build an algorithm for identifying anthropogenic environmental risks in the context of two major players economic activities in the Arctic region: the Russian Federation and China. In the paper, we formulated an algorithm of environmental risk identification. We identified environmental hazards from the main parameter—the type of economic activity for the extraction of energy resources, premises, and factors for the occurrence of environmental hazards and compiled criteria for risk selection. Methods used: complex analysis (mixed method research): empirical and comparative methods, methods of expert assessments, the method of inductive statistics (inferential statistics) to compare the perception of risk at the level of different groups. Results: the algorithm has been formed for determining risks in the changed external conditions. Major anthropogenic environmental risks are identified from the perspective of the main players in the Arctic—Russia and China, which can help to make the necessary decisions on time and partially prevent environmental degradation. This makes it possible to identify the risks associated with conducting economic activities for the extraction of energy resources in the Arctic region. Based on the theories of mass conservation and coalbed methane (CBM) adsorption/desorption, this paper first establishes a novel reservoir pressure model for CBM production, following which, the CBM concentration and production models are also proposed. Then, these models are programmed and solved by means of the finite element method. Taking the Hunchun CBM field in Jilin province, China, as an example, the reservoir pressure, gas concentration, and production characteristics under different hydraulic fracture forms are simulated and investigated. In conclusion, the reservoir pressure decreases very rapidly in a small region near the fracture tip, which we called the "reservoir pressure singularity". The existence of a hydraulic fracture greatly reduces the reservoir pressure in the process of CBM exploitation. The permeability sensitivity coefficient of reservoir pressure, Rpk, is defined to quantitatively describe the influence of coal seam permeability on the evolution of reservoir pressure. Rpk decreases logarithmically as the distance from the CBM extraction well increases. The reservoir pressure and CBM recovery rate characteristics in the presence of multiple hydraulic fractures are also investigated. Long-term erosion and repeated scouring of water significantly affect the technical properties of coals, which are the essential elements that must be considered in evaluating an underground reservoir coal column dam's standing sustainability. In the paper, the coal pillar dam body of the 22 layers of coal in the Shangwan Coal Mine is studied (22 represents No. 2 coal seam), and the water content of this coal pillar dam body is simplified into two types of different water content and dry–wet cycle. Through acoustic emission detection technology and energy dissipation analysis method, the internal failure mechanism of coal water action is analyzed. This study revealed three findings. (1) The crest pressure, strain, and resilient modulus in the coal sample were inversely related to the water content along with the dry–wet cycle number, while the drying–wetting cycle process had a certain time effect on the failure to the sample. (2) As the moisture content and the dry–wet cycle times incremented, three features were shown: first, the breakage pattern is the mainly stretching fracture for the coal specimen; second, the number and absolute value of acoustic emission count peaks decrease; third, the RA-AF probability density plot (RA is the ratio of AE Risetime and Amplitude, and AF is the ratio of AE Count and Duration) corresponds more closely to the large-scale destruction characteristics for the coal samples. (3) A higher quantity of wet and dry cycles results in a smoother energy dissipation curve in the compacted and flexible phases of the crack, indicating that this energy is released earlier. The research results can be applied to the long-term sustainability assessment of the dams of coal columns for underground reservoirs and can also serve as valuable content to the excogitation of water-bearing coal column dams under similar engineering conditions.
