Verifying the amount of CO2 geological storage is the key to evaluating CO2 emission reduction effect of CCUS projects. This paper based on the examples in China, according to the characteristics of different CO2-EOR projects, proposes a methodology for evaluating the amount of CO2 geological storage. The key of the method is evaluating CCUS chain from capture, transportation, EOR with storage, and finance. The evidence from different steps of CCUS must confirm each other so that it helps us to determine the amount of CO2 storage in case of missing some evidence. Further, based on this method, this paper evaluates the actual CO2-EOR with geological storage project in China. The method proposed in this paper will not only help third parties compile enterprise greenhouse gas emission reports and inventories, but also helps government to subsidize CO2 emission reduction enterprises. It will be useful for industries that implementing CCUS projects to provide key evaluation parameters and carry out necessary monitoring technologies.
