The article discusses how the rehabilitation process in Hurricane Katrina-affected areas can help the construction unions. As building trade unions rush humanitarian supplies and millions of dollars in relief funds to members and families left homeless by Hurricane Katrina, they also are thinking about rebuilding communities in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama devastated by the storm. The construction unions also see the rebuilding as a marketing and organizing opportunity in a region where organized labor historically does not have a strong presence. INSET: Employment Hits Record High.
