Bone char is used in a fixed-bed adsorption system to study the sorption of copper and cadmium ions from aqueous solutions. A system for the determination of optimal operating parameters is discussed.

Bone char's ability to remove cadmium, copper and zinc from aqueous solutions is studied. The Langmuir equation is included in the shrinking core model to provide a correlation of batch contact time data.
