Information about the roundtable discussion presented at the European Association of Social Anthropologists' biennial conference held in Tallinn, Estonia on July 31 through August 3, 2014 is presented. The aim of the discussion explores the meaning of anthropology for LGBT people and its contribution to the discipline after its emergence in the academia. The discussion was participated by several anthropologists including Paul Boyce, Elisabeth L. Engebretsen, and EJ Gonzalez-Polledo.

This article contends that anthropology is still operating with theories and models that too often reflect the assumption of the universal heterosexuality of social actors. This assumption has obscured the many significant ways in which ‘heterosexual’ and ‘homosexual’ experience of culture and society differ from each other. In order to highlight the nature of some of these differences and their implications for anthropological theorising, approaches from queer theory are brought to bear on the anthropological treatment of spatial relations. Not only do queer insights improve our understanding of spatial relations, they can also help to expand anthropology's focus on sexuality to include the sexual subtexts of a wide range of ostensibly non‐sexual social and cultural topics. The article presents the author's views regarding developments related to the "Ethnos: Journal of Anthropology" in 2010. He comments that the news that impact factor of the journal almost doubled last year to 0.976 was a miracle for the journal. He remarks that all back issues of the journal have now been digitalized with the great efforts of the people at Taylor & Francis and are available for subscription.

The article presents the author's views about the periodical "Ethnos: Journal of Anthropology," which has been sold to Taylor & Francis in early 2009. The author says that from June 1, 2009, the periodical will begin accepting new submissions via its new electronic submission and peer-review system, ScholarOne, which is an Internet-based application. The author further says that this new system will eliminate all the postal delays.
