Abstract

A copper(I) bromide‐catalyzed reaction of A3‐coupling‐derived propargylamines with ethyl buta‐2,3‐dienoate for the fast assembly of a 1,6‐dihydropyridine core is described. The developed protocol was tested on a variety of secondary propargylamines and the possibility of a one‐pot synthesis of 1,6‐dihydropyridine through the A3‐coupling and subsequent ethyl buta‐2,3‐dienoate incorporation was investigated. 18. DiversityOriented MicrowaveAssisted Synthesis of the 3Benzazepine Framework

Abstract

An efficient diversityoriented procedure for the twostep synthesis of 3benzazepines is described. The CuIcatalyzed threecomponent coupling of an aldehyde, an alkyne and an amine A3coupling provides the required propargylamines and assures the generation of diversity. The Pdcatalyzed intramolecular acetylene hydroarylation reaction selectively creates the sevenmembered 3benzazepine framework with full control over the ring size and the geometry around the double bond. Microwave irradiation is demonstrated to be highly efficient in promoting both steps.
