The European Journal of the History of Economic Thought has published a special issue featuring papers presented at the 25th Annual ESHET Conference, which focused on the theme of "Markets, Productivity and Happiness in a Historical Perspective." The issue includes a variety of contributions, such as the Presidential Address by Vladimir Avtonomov on the transfer of economic ideas between Russia and the West, a lecture by Philippe Steiner and Caroline Oudin-Bastide on the French debate on the abolition of slavery, and papers by Emma Rothschild and Sheila Dow on wartime in the history of economic thought and David Hume's contributions to history, development, and happiness, respectively. The issue also includes papers on topics such as Hugo Grotius' views on usury, the missing manuscripts of Anne Robert Jacques Turgot, Adam Smith's critique of Samuel Pufendorf's concept of sociability, and the history of social mobility in Italy. Additionally, there are papers on female economists Jessica Peixotto and the hidden female figures in the Organisation for European Economic Co-operation, as well as a set of short papers on the applications of lessons from the history of economic thought to actual policy problems.
