OBJECTIVE: To compare the clinical efficacy between Butylphthalide capsules and butylphthalide sodium chloride injection in treatment of acute cerebral infarction. METHODS: Totally 120 patients with acute cerebral infarction admitted into the Sixth People’s Hospital of Huizhou from Apr. 2016 to Apr. 2018 were extracted to be divided into group A and group B via the random number table, with 60 cases in each group. Patients in group A were treated with Butylphthalide capsules, while the group B received butylphthalide chloride injection. Differences of national institutes of health stroke scale score(NIHSS), Barthel index score, clinical efficacy, occurrence of adverse drug reactions and treatment costs were compared between two groups. RESULTS: After treatment, compared with group A, patients in group B had lower NIHSS score and higher Barthel index score, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Compared with group A, the total effective rate of group B was higher, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). During the treatment, the incidence of adverse drug reactions in both groups was 10.00%(6/60), with no statistically significant difference(P>0.05). The average treatment costs in group A was(480.63±124.06) yuan, significantly lower than(674.53±185.23) yuan in group B, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The efficacy of butylphthalide sodium chloride injection is better than that of Butylphthalide capsules in treatment of acute cerebral infarction. The butylphthalide sodium chloride injection can effectively reduce the degree of nerve defect in patients with acute cerebral infarction, improve the ability of daily life and promote the treatment effects, but the treatment costs are relatively higher.
