Electric vehicles (EVs) are among the most revolutionary breakthroughs by the context of decarbonization of road transport. The adoption of EVs has drawn increasing attention and is currently considered a potential route towards sustainable transportation. Businesses approaching the EV market must establish lucrative business models that overcome the adoption obstacles for EVs while assuring long-term growth. The intent of the current research exploration is to create a cutting-edge framework for EV enterprises that aims to maximize profit and save delivery time leading to high customer satisfaction. The volume discount strategy is used for profit escalation. The model presented in this paper is highly adaptable for a real-world problem as it incorporates uncertainty in the EV industry through generalized triangular neutrosophic numbers, an extension of fuzzy numbers. In the present era, the implementation of scientifically grounded Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) has emerged as a pivotal solution to diverse decision-making challenges across various domains. Although a substantial body of exploratory, conceptual, and experimental studies exists, only 9.457% studies have incorporated sensitivity analyses to assess the robustness of MCDM methods. An exhaustive scientific exploration of sensitivity analysis within the scope of MCDM is thus lacking. This research aims to address this gap through Bibliometric Analysis while examining 1374 articles published between January 2000 and March 2023 from the Scopus database. Using RStudio (Biblioshiny), CiteSpace, and VOSviewer software, the study constructs a visual representation of the most prolific countries, institutions, and authors. Impressively, China takes the lead in article publications, while India excels in international collaboration. "An extended TODIM multi-criteria group decision-making method for green supplier selection in an interval type-2 fuzzy environment," featured in the Journal of Environmental Management, emerges as the most cited paper with a total citation of 455. The study also identifies the top three most cited journals, namely "Journal of Cleaner Production," "Expert Systems With Applications," and "Computers and Industrial Engineering." "North China Electric Power University" is the leading institute with the highest research outputs. This paper presents a novel approach to designing and optimizing a Solar-Wind Hybrid Energy System (SWHS) for an Electric Vehicle Charging Station (EVCS) and a university shopping complex in India. Objectives include addressing sustainable energy challenges, ensuring reliability, and minimizing the Levelized Power Supply Price (LPSP). Key contributions encompass a two-stage framework for optimal SWHS configuration, consideration of uncertainties in renewable energy generation, and the use of the Ebola Optimization Search Algorithm (ESOA). The first stage models SWHS components, formulates an objective function, and addresses reliability to minimize LPSP. The second stage employs ESOA, inspired by Ebola spread, exploring both local and global search spaces. Simulation results and a load profile analysis validate the proposed framework and ESOA's performance, observing a significant improvement of 15% in LPSP and a 10% increase in system reliability. Applying artificial intelligence in education is relevant to addressing the current educational crises. Many available solutions apply Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to help improve educational outcomes. Therefore, a series of works have been developed integrating techniques in different educational contexts, for instance, in online teaching practices. Given the various studies and the relevance of CNNs for educational applications, this paper presents a systematic literature review to discuss the state-of-the-art. We reviewed 133 papers from the IEEE Xplore, ACM Digital Library, and Scopus databases. Based on our revision, we discuss characteristics of studies such as publication venues, educational context, datasets, types of CNNs models, and performance of models. We evidence that the literature regarding CNNs still misses more studies discussing educational problems faced by Global South students, considering both teaching and learning perspectives. Early rainfall prediction is very important to ensure the economic balance of any agriculture-dominated country, such as India. Deep learning has recently received considerable attention for predicting rainfall using historical data. However, rainfall depends on multiple factors like ElNino, rising sea levels, warming of the Atlantic Ocean, etc. The changing climate has also significantly increased rainfall variability. The current deep-learning approaches are either based on a limited set of predictors or do not utilize the time-series properties for the recurrence of similar climate conditions every 12 months. Besides, they perform poorly in predicting accurate rainfall estimates for the diverse areas of India due to limited data availability across various regions. Therefore, this paper presents a groundbreaking solution to address the challenge of limited data by introducing RfGan (Rainfall GAN), a novel variant of generative adversarial networks. RfGan aims to fulfill the crucial need for abundant data to ensure the effectiveness of model training. Moreover, a novel rainfall prediction method, RfGanNet, has been introduced that leverages the strengths of the proposed RfGan for data augmentation, long-short-term memory, and convolutional neural networks for rainfall prediction. The performance of RfGanNet has been validated for India and its clustered regions in terms of nine parameters: precision, recall, specificity, Matthews correlation coefficient, accuracy, F1-score, mean absolute error, mean square error and computation time. The experimental results of RfGan are compared against original and synthetic datasets generated from state-of-the-art methods, namely tabular gan (TGAN), Wasserstein gan (WGAN), and conditional tabular gan (CTGAN). The experimental results indicate that the proposed RfNet model, when trained using RfGan-generated data, surpassed all the other considered methods by achieving 97.22 % accuracy. Moreover, RfNet has been compared with other related deep Learning approaches to validate its efficacy. Additionally, an ablation study investigating various LSTM–CNN combinations has been conducted. The findings of the study indicate that oceanic and climate-related predictors have a noteworthy influence on Indian rainfall. Autonomous driving is the future of the automotive industry across the globe. Many challenges must be resolved in designing and developing successful Autonomous Driving Systems (ADS), especially in developing countries with poor road infrastructure. Detecting obstacles in lanes is essential for robust ADS to decide whether to change lanes, slow down, or even stop. Developing countries like India present challenges, including poor or no lane line demarcation, poor traffic management, and diverse driving behaviors. That brings many challenges to developing robust lane-keeping or lane-changing decision systems in an ADS. Publicly available driving datasets have an inherent bias towards the road infrastructure of developed countries and hence cannot cater to the needs of the Indian requirements. That makes the existing obstacle-lane segment detection models unsuitable for road infrastructures in developing countries. Due to these factors, the rate of advancement of ADS and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in developing countries is meager compared to other developed countries. This makes it even more critical for future research to focus on these developing countries. This paper proposes a deep-learning-based novel decision-making network named LaneScanNET to assist the ADS in lane-changing or lane-keeping decision-making. The proposed system assists ADS in detecting obstacles, localization of the Ego Vehicle (EGV) on roads, and estimating lane status in its Field of View (FOV). The proposed LaneScanNET uses a parallel pipeline with an Obstacle Detection Network (ODN) and a Lane Detection Network (LDN) to simultaneously process the incoming image frames for detecting obstacles and segmenting lane lines, respectively. Further, the Obstacle-Lane Fusion Network (OLFN) fuses these results to predict the status of the obstacle lane in the FOV of autonomous vehicles. Vellore Institute of Technology's (VIT's) real-time driving dataset on indigenous roads has been collected to train the proposed LaneScanNET with 2464 obstacle-lane images obtained by driving over 60 km. The dataset generated for obstacle detection and its corresponding lane detection has also been made publicly available to promote research work for these developing countries. The proposed system outperforms all existing networks on Indian roads with an accuracy of 75.28% in obstacle detection and 91.36% in lane detection. Additionally, the proposed system can analyze the lane status with an accuracy of 92.54%. The proposed network performs exceptionally well in unforeseen circumstances like shadows, fog, dust, and occlusions making LaneScanNET a robust network that can be an add-on for ADS to make lane-keeping or lane-changing decisions. Diabetes mellitus is a major non-communicable disease ever rising as an epidemic and a public health crisis worldwide. One of the several life-threatening complications of diabetes is hypertension or high blood pressure which mostly remains undiagnosed and untreated until symptoms become severe. Diabetic complications can be greatly reduced or prevented by early detection of individuals at risk. In recent past, several machine learning classification algorithms have been widely applied for diagnosing diabetes but very few studies have been conducted for detecting hypertension among diabetic subjects. Specifically, existing rule-based models fail to produce comprehensible rule sets. To resolve this limitation, this paper endeavours to develop a hybrid approach for extracting rules from support vector machines. A feature selection mechanism is introduced for selecting significantly associated features from the dataset. XGBoost has been utilized to convert SVM black box model into an apprehensible decision-making tool. A new dataset has been obtained from Pt. JNM, Medical College, Raipur, India comprising of 300 diabetic subjects with 108 hypertensives and 192 normotensives. In addition, five public diabetes-related datasets have been taken for generalization of the results. Experiments reveal that the proposed model outperforms ten other benchmark classifiers. This paper presents an integrated approach of portfolio construction based on sector analysis for investment in National Stock Exchange of India. The model is developed in four stages: First, multiple evidences are collected using historical data to analyze the performance of different sectors, and ranked using Dempster-Shafer evidence theory. The top-ranked sectors are considered as the strong sectors. Second, Granger causality test is employed for determining interdependencies between the strong sectors using the past closing price time series. Then, the strong sectors with no causal relationships are selected to diversify the investment. Third, leading stocks of the selected sectors are picked on the basis on their performance in previous years. Thus, the portfolio of best stocks from strong and diverse sectors is constructed. Fourth, for optimizing of the constructed portfolio or to obtain optimal ratio allocations of stocks in the portfolio, an optimization function is constructed and simulated using a deep recurrent neural network. The results obtained by the proposed portfolio are found very significant which confirms its effectiveness. In this paper we attempt to automate the process of fitting the uncertain parameters of a multi-objective portfolio selection problem by generating L-R fuzzy numbers that belong to power reference function family. Such an approach is advantageous when the fuzzy parameters of the portfolio are best represented as general functional forms. We also propose four new portfolio selection models in a multi-criteria credibilistic framework. The key financial criteria considered are return, illiquidity (antagonistic to liquidity) and risk. In the absence of joint possibility distribution of these parameters, the return and illiquidity of the entire portfolio are considered as historical data set instead of return and illiquidity of the individual assets. In the process of fitting the most appropriate L-R fuzzy number, the vagueness within the information and deviation of the L-R fuzzy number from historical data is measured using entropy and cross-entropy respectively. These principles are embedded into the modelling process of proposed portfolio selection problems. One of the key contribution of this study is that we propose and design a sub-algorithm namely “Entropy-Cross Entropy (ECE) Algorithm” that is appended within an “MIBEX-SM” genetic algorithm and is used to solve the proposed portfolio optimization problems. This proposed solution methodology results in an automated system that is intelligent enough to extract information required for fitting of L-R fuzzy number from the historical data and does not need any human intervention in terms of stating the parameters of the problem. We also conduct an empirical study to demonstrate the impact of the solution approach and applicability of the proposed models in practical applications of portfolio selection. For this purpose we collected historical data from National Stock Exchange (NSE), Mumbai, India. The data for a period of 2008–2013 is first used to train the models. Then the data sets of one-year period of 2013 − 2014 and two-year period of 2013 − 2015 are used to test the performance of the models. Place of occurrence of disaster event is a significant feature associated with events for location-sensitive disaster event detection. Efficient feature selection and their augmentation with location information can contribute towards the evolution of traditional approaches and their adoption for location-sensitive disaster event detection leading to improvement in the overall process as a whole. Since the evaluation of event detection techniques deliberates various intrinsic and extrinsic performance metrics, the decision-making for the selection of feature sets is treated as a Multiple-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem. This paper proposes a framework, GeoClust , that is based on feature engineering of traditional textual features in order to enhance their capability for improved location-sensitive disaster event detection. The framework augments context-free and context-based textual feature sets with feature sets of place of occurrence of the events and evaluates their performance using unsupervised machine learning algorithms for various performance metrics. Finally, the best feature set is selected using AHP-TOPSIS technique of MCDM in order to tune the system for automatic and efficient location-sensitive disaster event detection in real-time. Extensive set of experiments have been performed in order to evaluate the framework on a dataset of online news articles reporting disaster events about terrorist attacks, fire incidents, stampede incidents, building collapse and maoist attacks happened at different locations in India. The results show that the location-augmented feature sets significantly improve performance of location-sensitive disaster event detection as compared with traditional feature sets. COVID-19 is a respiratory infection caused by a coronavirus that spreads from person to person. In the present situation, the COVID-19 pandemic is a swiftly rising phase. Now the time is the second wave ending phase of coronavirus and the third wave coming phase of coronavirus in India. The pandemic situation is moving forward all over India. Nowadays, the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic structure is a very hazardous situation. The COVID-19 vaccine can suppress this situation and gain preventive measures against coronavirus. In producing the COVID-19 vaccine, the Indian medical board plays a significant role. The COVID-19 vaccines have exhibited 90%–95% efficacy in preventing symptomatic COVID-19 infections. Against COVID-19, for emergency purposes, the Indian medical board has approved three vaccines: Covishield, Covaxin, and Sputnik V. Generally, the Indian people are embarrassed about the vaccination of COVID-19. All people are thinking about which vaccine is best for them. This labyrinth can be evaluated effectively using the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) technique. Therefore, we have proposed a novel MCDM technique for selecting COVID-19 vaccines. The main aim of this paper is to develop an MCDM technique based on a λ -weighted ranking interpreter ( R λ + , R λ − ). The first time, we have defined positive and negative λ -weighted rank interpreter for the ranking of single-valued bipolar neutrosophic (SVbN) number. Additionally, positive and negative λ -weighted values and positive and negative λ -weighted ambiguity of an SVbN-number are formulated here. Some important, valuable theorems and corollary of SVbN-number are formulated. Multimodality has shown to be helpful in several natural language processing tasks. Thus, adding multiple modalities to the traditional sentiment analysis has also proven to be useful. However, multimodality in a low resource setting for sentiment analysis is yet to be explored for several resource-constrained languages. Assamese is a low-resource language spoken mainly in the state of Assam in India. This paper presents an Assamese multimodal dataset comprising of 16,000 articles from the news domain as a benchmark resource. Secondly, we present a multi-stage multimodal sentiment analysis framework that concurrently exploits textual and visual cues to determine the sentiment. The proposed architecture encodes the news content collaboratively. The text branch encodes semantic content information by considering the semantic information of the news. At the same time, the visual branch encodes the visual appearance information from the news image. Then, an intermediate fusion-based multimodal framework is proposed to exploit the internal correlation between textual and visual features for joint sentiment classification. Finally, a decision-level fusion mechanism is employed on the three models to integrate cross-modal information effectively for final sentiment prediction. Female Genital Tuberculosis (FGTB) has a major impact on female fertility but it can be effectively treated on timely diagnosis. Early, objective and reliable diagnostics of FGTB causing infertility is a need of the hour in a populous country like India. As per our literature study, there is no computational method available for the same till date. Since, Transvaginal Ultrasound (TVUS) imaging is a non-invasive, primary and first line investigative technique; aim of this work is to develop an effective method for diagnosis of abnormal endometrial TB from TVUS images. TVUS images of female patients coming for infertility treatments to medical centers in India are collected under the supervision of medical expert. These images are preprocessed and used to train the proposed model. In this paper, a multi-scale and multi-direction Non-Subsampled Contourlet Transform (NSCT) based CNN model is proposed that integrates different levels of NSCT transformed features with different layers of a pre-trained CNN model. NSCT does spatial as well as spectral analysis and extracts significant features irrespective of orientation. The integration of these features makes the model more effective in discriminating normal and abnormal TB images. Further, the integrated model has less number of trainable parameters due to intrinsic multi-scale nature of NSCT. To test the effectiveness of the proposed NSCT-CNN model, traditional CNN with different pooling methods, Wavelet-CNN and Contourlet-CNN models were also implemented. The experimental results show that the proposed model has an improved efficacy over other related models implemented with an average testing accuracy of 88%, a sensitivity of 0.832 and F1-score of 0.869. Two tailed t -test conducted on the model performances are statistically significant at 95% confidence level for the data in hand. To combat the recent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), academician and clinician are in search of new approaches to predict the COVID-19 outbreak dynamic trends that may slow down or stop the pandemic. Epidemiological models like Susceptible–Infected–Recovered (SIR) and its variants are helpful to understand the dynamics trend of pandemic that may be used in decision making to optimize possible controls from the infectious disease. But these epidemiological models based on mathematical assumptions may not predict the real pandemic situation. Recently the new machine learning approaches are being used to understand the dynamic trend of COVID-19 spread. In this paper, we designed the recurrent and convolutional neural network models: vanilla LSTM, stacked LSTM, ED_LSTM, BiLSTM, CNN, and hybrid CNN+LSTM model to capture the complex trend of COVID-19 outbreak and perform the forecasting of COVID-19 daily confirmed cases of 7, 14, 21 days for India and its four most affected states (Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu). The root mean square error (RMSE) and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) evaluation metric are computed on the testing data to demonstrate the relative performance of these models. • A multi-period multi-objective portfolio optimization model is developed. • Coherent fuzzy numbers are used to model the returns and the investor attitude. • Credibilistic optimization model is solved through a real-coded genetic algorithm. • The models' performance is tested using real-time return data of assets. In this paper, we use an extension of fuzzy numbers, called coherent fuzzy numbers, to model asset returns and an investor's perception of the stock market (pessimistic, optimistic, or neutral) simultaneously. Two multi-period multi-objective portfolio optimization models are formulated using mean absolute semi-deviation and Conditional Value-at-Risk (CVaR) as risk measures, respectively. We aim to provide more flexibility to the investor in specifying the risk tolerance and devise optimum investment plans for different investment horizons. The proposed models also incorporate bound, cardinality, and skewness constraints for each investment period to capture various stock market scenarios. A real-coded genetic algorithm is employed to solve the resultant models. Two real-life case studies involving 20 assets of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), India, and another involving 50 assets listed in the S&P 500 and NASDAQ-100 indexes have been provided to illustrate the efficacy and advantages of the models. An in-sample and out-of-sample analysis have been done for both the models to analyze the performance in the real-world scenario. The conclusion drawn from the analysis strongly emphasizes on accurately assessing the current stock market prospects, i.e., adopting the right attitude (pessimistic, optimistic, or neutral), is of paramount importance and must be included in the portfolio optimization problem.
