As a result of synthesis of La1-xCaxMnO3 with x = 0 ÷ 0.7 from different precursors, perovskite phases are formed with different deviations from stoichiometry. It leads to the existence of orthorhombic phase (solid-phase synthesis) and rhombohedral phase (wet synthesis methods) at room temperature. Crystallographic method for estimating the nonstoichiometric parameters x and y in La1-xMn3+1-yMn4+yO3 composition, based on the analysis of the elastic interatomic bonds, was used to determine the content of Mn3+ and Mn4+ ions in the solid solutions of La1-xCaxMn3+1-yMn4+yO3, prepared by sorption, co-precipitation, and solid-phase synthesis.
