The article discusses the change in China's consumer demand for energy resources, often referencing China's early 2010s energy demand to the country's high demand for power resources during the 2000s. The role that China's slowing of economic growth plays in the country's reduced demand for power resources is discussed. An overview of energy development in China, including in regard to China's national oil companies' contracts for liquefied natural gas (LNG) and the hydroelectric plant at Three Gorges Dam, China, is provided.
