Forest fire causes huge losses and there are many cases, and the data information in the cases can reflect the problems existing in the fire rescue. To reduce the loss caused by forest fires, and to provide direction for embers cleaning equipment design, the method of using a chart first to collect the data of forest fire is analp.ed, and the existing embers cleaning equipment and equipment research trend at home and abroad are analyzed, and fmally discusses modular design method in the feasibility of the application in the design of cleaning equipment. Research shows that forest fire is difficult to prevent; the number of rescue workers should not be less than 5 000 to control the fire area of less than 1 000 hm² ; embers clearing is the most effective method to reduce forest fire loss at present, but the existing embers clearing equipment cannot meet the demand because of the outstanding problems. At present, the research trend of embers cleaning equipment is robot, and the design of embers cleaning robot conforms to the development direction of the industry. The modular design method is feasible in the design of embers cleaning equipment, and the machine designed by the combination of the two can solve the problems in embers cleaning work.
