Abstract

Information about several papers discussed at the 2008 annual scientific meeting of the Australian Society for Microbiology, held in Melbourne Convention Center in Australia is presented. Topics include the history and future development of typhoid vaccines, the use of Salmonella as vaccine carrier and an overview of malaria biology. The meeting highlighted the challenges for the microbiology community.
