The professional pedagogical press has been a subject of growing interest for educational historiography. Proof of this are the numerous analytical repertories published in different countries, as well as the research that has been carried out using the educational press as an object of study or as a source for the investigation of specific topics. The aim of this contribution is to carry out a systematic review of the literature produced in Spain on different educational press titles that appeared during the Civil War and Franco's dictatorship. A bank of 686 press titles has been created from the most complete analytical repertoire published in our country (Checa, 2002) and, subsequently, a systematic search has been carried out in the main scientific databases (Scopus, Web of Science, Dialnet and TESEO). 81 research studies were recovered from 32 journals of the selected period, most of them belonging to the most recognised nationally distributed educational press titles, such as Cuadernos de Pedagogía or Revista Española de Pedagogía, which shows that most of the educational publications of this period are unexplored by historiography.
