The article focuses on a geological study which described fish otoliths from the Lower Paleocene and Middle Paleocene from Sjælland, Denmark. A total of 44 species was described including 23 new species. It was observed that faunal assemblage of the fish species is of low diversity and almost 90% of the total assemblage were composed of three dominant species, namely, the berycid, the bythitid and the scorpaenid. It concludes that the region was not very suitable for this fish species possible because of unfavourable temperature.
