BIANNA GOLODRYGA (ABC NEWS) (Off-camera) And what an amazing career for America's golden boy, Michael Phelps, the most decorated athlete in Olympic history. Let's take a look. His debut in Sydney in 2000, only a fifth place finish in his one event. But four years later, Phelps' first big splash, six gold medals and two bronze at the Athens Olympics. Then in 2008, well, Michael Phelps became a household name, a record shattering eight gold medals at the Beijing games. And now, his illustrious Olympic run ending on a major high note in London with four gold medals and two silvers. This all adds up to Phelps claiming 22 total medals over three Olympic games, 18 gold, two silver and two bronze, and one word, wow. Now, let's update the medal race. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
