Francesco Risso, the creative director of Marni, is challenging the seriousness of the fashion industry by embracing a more instinctive and playful approach to design. Risso transformed his design studio into a cave-like space, covered in paper and devoid of images, to encourage his team to create without the constraints of societal expectations. His unconventional methods have turned Marni into a thriving brand that attracts eccentrics and rebels in the fashion world. Despite the success of the business, Risso remains focused on the emotional impact of his designs and the connections he forms with his team. [Extracted from the article]

Features MOTY 2020 Rapper of the Year MEGAN THE ESTALLION has been silent for about 30 seconds, hoping that the tears gathering in her eyes don't give way to a full-on cry. " (A lawyer for Lanez denied that the rapper offered Megan and her friend money.) I don't need no boys at all!" She often attributes lyrical and sonic inspiration to Southern male artists like Juicy J and Pimp C. Her mom would play Three 6 Mafia, and Megan would study the themes: money, sex, power, high-quality liquor. JAQUEL KNIGHT, MEGAN'S friend and choreographer, bounced into the kitchen of a Brooklyn studio to find Megan, hiding out, dabbing her forehead with a paper towel, taking a break from rehearsing. The paintings serve as storyboards for a fictional horror film featuring undead characters called "the heroes." Lang collaborated with GQ on a fashion shoot inspired by the paintings and discusses the inspiration behind his work and its connection to love and unity. The drawings in the series explore the concept of love further, drawing from Lang's study of the Tao. The article also mentions Loïc Desmonts and his family-owned workshop, Ateliers Desmonts, being chosen to rebuild the roof of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris using traditional woodworking techniques. The project involved sourcing suitable timber from forests across Normandy and the Loire Valley and collaborating with Ateliers Perrault. The reconstructed roof reflects the dedication and craftsmanship of the artisans involved. Lastly, the article titled "Skin" by Jaime Diaz at Paradis explores the concept of skin through various artistic mediums, featuring a painting titled "Making It Sacred" created in 2023 without providing further information or context about the artwork or the artist. None of his classmates from those years went on to be Martin Scorsese, and Scorsese never went on to be a priest, but never mind. 2002's Gangs of New York, a longtime passion project of Scorsese's, was in part poisoned by its producer, Harvey Weinstein, with whom Scorsese wrestled over the length and the budget of the film. I feel bad about having done this, since Scorsese's skeptical comments about Marvel and comic book films in the past have attracted a lot of vitriol, and…here I am, inviting more vitriol for Martin Scorsese. Glover is showing me around the sprawling farm he's purchased in Ojai, California, that will be the headquarters for Gilga - his new production company/incubator/cultural library. Corman, Cameron's first mentor, was famous for his ability to make films with little money and fewer resources, and many of Cameron's predecessors and fellow auteurs went on to do the same, directing small, personal films before they made giant ones. (Goldin, in Goldin's telling, did consider it, but perhaps less enthusiastically than Cameron remembers: "You don't just say, 'You're a great guy, Jim, thank you for doing that wonderful picture Titanic'. Features AFTER JAMES CAMERON'S Avatar came out in 2009 and made $2.7 billion, the director found the deepest point that exists in all of earth's oceans and, in time, he dove to it. And he actually replied: 'Yeah, but I made Titanic at the Titanic.'" It is perhaps illustrative of Cameron's gifts as a filmmaker that even his most determined rivals will admit that Cameron has written and directed some of the most successful films of all time. APOLOGIZING ,GESTURE ,BLACK Lives Matter movement - Abstract
Aronofsky sent Fraser a care package, covered for him, and Fraser waited out his sickness and then they shot the film and here Fraser was now. (The HFPA disputes this and says the organization has apologized twice, and though Berk has acknowledged writing a letter about the incident to Fraser, Berk told me in 2018 that the apology admitted "no wrongdoing… the usual 'If I've done anything that upset Mr. Fraser, it was not intended and I apologize.'") If the HFPA did attempt to make amends, Fraser said, "according to rules of engagement, it would be my responsibility to take a look at it and make a determination at that time, if that became the situation. Even now, during a year in which Fraser has, quite improbably, become an Oscar front-runner for his performance in Darren Aronofsky's The Whale - a performance that has reminded audiences of just how great Fraser once was, and how great he was once supposed to be - he is still showing up at conventions. A friend of Fraser's, Jon Kretzu, had shared a quote with Fraser before Venice, and Fraser told me he was repeating it to himself seven or eight times a day: "I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, I'll go to it laughing.". Features YOU'VE PROBABLY NEVER heard of Camber, an apparel company founded in Philadelphia in 1982, though you likely know its garments, or ones that are inspired by them. Schwartz runs a wholesale-only operation, meaning these orders are not for individual customers but for brands, shops, and other businesses - his client roster spans a wide spectrum that includes high fashion retailers like Ssense as well as auto-parts manufacturers in Detroit. Schwartz relies on many different textiles, but the material he uses to construct his most covetable garments is the Cross-Knit fabric, which he developed over 30 years ago with a Pennsylvania mill less than an hour away from the Camber factory and which is made using American cotton. Orr met Barry and Leo Schwartz in the late '70s, before they had even turned their apparel wholesaling business into the brand Camber, and he was one of the first to place an order of thermal-lined sweatshirts. Brosnan has a painting studio out in the garage, and sometimes he and Paris go in there and paint together - Paris likes to work with an oil stick, homaging Basquiat. Features A FEW YEARS AGO, some of Dylan Brosnan's closest friends showed up to his house in Malibu for his 21st birthday party, and there they met Dylan's father, who turned out to be Pierce Brosnan. Paris and Dylan have grown up watching their father make art on any available surface - drawing on tablets, painting on their shoes, on Paris's surfboards. " Dylan and Paris also spent time on their father's sets when they were younger - Dylan remembers exploring the ice palace from Die Another Day - and as adults they've both worked behind the scenes on his films. Features FOR HER FIRST TWO YEARS in Washington, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez walked the few blocks from her apartment to her congressional office nearly every morning, a routine she felt forced to change after a treasonous mob stormed the Capitol. In May 2021, Ocasio-Cortez was confronted outside of the House Chamber by Marjorie Taylor Greene, a far-right member of the Republican caucus, who ran up to her and demanded she explain why she supports "terrorist groups" like Black Lives Matter and insisted Ocasio-Cortez debate her "radical socialist beliefs" with her, according to two Washington Post reporters who were present. Roberts has largely avoided the public eye as he and Ocasio-Cortez have adjusted to shuttling, these past few years, between New York and Washington, D.C. Just prior to the pandemic, after a long lobbying campaign from Ocasio-Cortez, the pair added Deco, the aforementioned French bulldog, to the mix. President Trump soon seized on Ocasio-Cortez and the rest of "The Squad" - then an alliance of four progressive congresswomen of color all elected in 2018 - as a foil, leveling racist attacks against them in tweets and at his rallies. CAN MARIO ANDRETTI CONQUER F1…AGAIN? He won an Indy car series title, raced for the top team in F1 for a single doomed season, and even received Mario's admission that Michael may have been the better driver. If Mario is the aged champion, the eminence, then Michael is the modification on the mold - a major driver who fell short of his father's record on track but who also extended the Andretti name into vast new racing frontiers. In February, Mario shocked the racing world by announcing that his eldest son, Michael, had filed paperwork with the sport's governing body, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), to bring a brand-new American racing team and American driver to the F1 paddock in 2024.
