Abstract

This article focuses on BSG guidelines on polyp follow up reduced endoscopy workload. In the study patients were referred for polyp follow up colonoscopy by a variety a1 clinicians, many of whom are not gastroenterologists. According to guidelines, a large proportion of patients were referred for polyp follow up too early. In the hospital, guidelines have so for made only a modest change among gastroenterologists, and little or no impact among other referring groups, generating a significant excess endoscopy workload.
