Abstract

Using low-protein natural rubber latex(LPNRL) as the matrix , hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN) as the thermally conductive filler, and adding γ-polyglutamic acid (γ-PGA), the γ-PGA/h-BN/LPNRL composite films were prepared by mechanical blending. The results showed that γ-PGA could improve the dispersion of h-BN in water and LPNRL matrix. When the mass fraction of γ-PGA and h-BN were 1.5% and 15.0%, the thermal conductivity of the γ-PGA/h-BN/LPNRL composite films increased to 0.634 W/(mK), which was 4.77 times greater than that of pure LPNRL film. The tensile strength of the composite films increased to 8.06 MPa, which was 3.1 times stronger than that of the pure LPNRL films, and the elongation at break was reduced to 980%. The addition of h-BN could significantly improve the thermal stability and tensile strength of the composite films.

Abstract

"The copolymer of deproteinized natural rubber (DPNR) grafted acrylonitrile (AN) and acrylic acid (AA) [DPNR-g-P(AN-co-AA)] was synthesized by emulsion grafting copolymerization, using DPNR as matrix, AN and AA as monomers in the initiation system of tert-butyl hydroperoxide and tetra-ethylenepentamine. The grafting of AN and AA monomers was verified by infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and the effects of total monomers amount and m(AN) / m(AA) on the mechanical properties of modified DPNR were studied, as well as the effect of healing conditions on its self-healing property. The results showed that under the conditions of a total monomer amount of 10 phr (in terms of dry rubber mass) and m(AN) / m(AA) of 10/1, the maximum tensile strength and elongation at break of DPNR-g-P(AN-co-AA) were 9.22 MPa and 1 365%, respectively, which were 376% and 133% of the initial DPNR. In addition, the hydrogen bond interaction between polyacrylic acid segments in the system enabled DPNR-g-P(AN-co-AA) to have excellent self-healing property, reaching a self-healing efficiency of 75.3% after 2 h of healing at 50 ℃. "

Abstract

Polydopamine (PDA) modified nano-TiO2 (PTiO2)/epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) composite films were prepared by latex blending method using ENR with epoxy degree of 25% as matrix and PTiO2 as filler, and the effects of the addition amount of the filler PTiO2 on the mechanical properties, thermal stability and anti-ultraviolet aging performance of PTiO2/ENR composite films were studied. The results showed that PDA improved the dispersion of nano-TiO2 in ENR matrix. After the addition of the filler PTiO2, the thermal stability of PTiO2/ENR composite film increased gradually, and when the addition amount of PTiO2 was 5 phr (mass), the tensile strength of PTiO2/ENR composite film was 8.15 MPa, which increased by 2.8 times compared with that of ENR，and the elongation at break was 1 141%. The retention rate of mechanical properties after ultraviolet irradiation were more than 97%, which indicated that PTiO2/ENR composite film had better anti-ultraviolet aging performance.
