The article discusses history of psychology. History of psychology is directly and centrally relevant to a number of quite urgent issues facing Psychology, its place in society, its disciplinary character, and the ontological status of that which it studies. Taken jointly these in effect amount to a new agenda for history of psychology itself. One urgent task is to create a regular and acknowledged place for history of psychology on the undergraduate curriculum, but this is only going to be effective if historians of psychology can generate some sense of collective identity or consensus around history of psychology's role and agenda.
