Austin Allen James is an artist, designer, poet, entrepreneur, educator, and father of two. He creates one-of-a-kind functional art furniture for the home, including coffee tables, side tables, consoles, dining tables, and cabinets. James has partnered with several furniture brands to create collections of art, décor, and home furnishings. His creative ideas come from motion and he finds inspiration everywhere. He got into the furniture business through his work with John Richard and has since expanded his designs and artwork. James describes himself as ethereal and aims to create sturdy whimsy in his furniture pieces. He enjoys reinventing himself and expressing his creativity through different mediums. James has taken many risks in his career, including opening an art gallery and starting a furniture line. He describes the perfect day at work as trading stocks, working on commissions, painting, designing furniture, grading papers, and writing poetry.
