Coupling output inductors is a very popular solution when designing a multiple-output DC/DC system. Space-borne circuits are one of the areas where a custom DC/DC converter design with coupled inductors could be preferred to have a detailed design of all variables. Output voltage regulation can be improved using coupled output inductors on a multiple-output DC/DC converter, and, as demonstrated in this paper, it provides an enhanced stability. This paper presents the small signal analysis of a push-pull converter with seven outputs having all its output inductors coupled together and compares it theoretically to the uncoupled version to demonstrate the stability improvement. The theoretical results are validated by simulating a linear model of the circuit and measuring the frequency response on an experimental prototype. The positive output elementary superlift-Luo converter (POESLLC) is a type of dc/dc converter. This dc/dc converter has an attractive advantage of a high voltage transfer gain as compared with other conventional dc/dc converters. Because of the voltage and load variations and also switching operation, the dynamic and static performances of the POESLLC are nonlinear and time varying. In order to achieve an excellent performance, a nonlinear controller is required. In this paper, a robust and fast response controller for voltage regulation of a POESLLC is presented. A proportional integral and pulse width modulation sliding mode controller are combined to control a third-order POESLLC. The proposed controller can be applied in the continuous conduction mode. Some simulations and experimental results are presented to show the effectiveness of the developed controller in different operating conditions. Furthermore, it will be shown that the developed controller is successful in suppressing the steady-state error of the output voltage of the POESLLC as well as the number of reduction of sensors. The positive output elementary super lift Luo (POESLL) converter is a dc–dc converter with a simple structure, which can increase input voltage with low ripples and high voltage gain. This study proposes an adaptive estimator-based sliding mode control scheme for the POSELL converter considering a reduced-order model of the converter with an unknown load and unknown input voltage. The proposed controller is composed of two parts: 1) an adaptive estimator, and 2) the sliding mode controller. At first, it is assumed that the state variables of the converter are available and adaptive estimator is proposed to facilitate the design of adaptive laws for estimating unknown parameters. Then, the sliding mode control input is designed based on the estimation of unknown parameters. Stability analysis of the proposed scheme is provided and σ-modification type robust adaptive laws for estimating the uncertain parameters are derived based on the Lyapunov direct method. Furthermore, one modification term is proposed to satisfy the sliding condition. Finally, the proposed scheme is experimentally implemented in real time using STM32F407VG discrete signal processor board interfaced with MATLAB. In addition, in order to compare and highlight the effective performance of the proposed scheme, the proportional-integral (PI) controller is designed and implemented. Experimental results are presented for both of the proposed approach and the PI one. The results verify the ability of the proposed scheme for voltage regulation as well as its robustness against parameter uncertainties.
