In this paper, we propose a scheme to design the reconfigurable filtering power divider with arbitrary operating channels based on external quality factor ($Q_{\mathbf {e}}$) control. By using an input feeding line, ${n}$ resonators, and $m$ output feeding lines, the $n^{\mathbf {th}}$ -order $m$ -way filtering power divider topology can be obtained with a simple configuration. A coupled-line output feeding structure loading with multiple PIN diodes is proposed to adjust the output $Q_{\mathbf {e}}$ values. Design theories for obtaining the desired $Q_{\mathbf {e}}$ values are provided. Then, the filtering power divider can be fully reconfigured in the states with one to $m$ operating channels. Good input matching can be achieved without using an additional reconfigurable impedance matching network in all these states, resulting in a size and loss reduction. For verification, a 2nd-order 4-way reconfigurable filtering power divider is designed, fabricated, and measured. As compared to the reported reconfigurable power dividers, the proposed design shows the merits of fully reconfigurable operating channels, favorable filtering responses, low insertion losses, high isolation, and a simple structure. This paper presents a novel static digital pre-distortion (DPD) method for a current-steering digital-to-analog converter (CS-DAC). The proposed method utilizes the knowledge of the current cell array architecture to calculate the static mismatch currents of the cells. The mismatch values are stored in memory and added to the original input code to generate the new pre-distorted input word. The converter corrects the static error with its own current cells without incorporating an additional calibration DAC (CALDAC) or programmable current sources. This results in a reduction in area, power and simulation run times because of the simpler circuit design. An Overflow-Cell-Selection (OCS) is introduced as a novel solution to further enhance the static linearity of the converter. It also can be implemented as a software solution for already existing DAC designs which do not have an integrated DPD and lab/measurement equipment (e.g., arbitrary wave generator (AWG)). This poses as a strong differentiation factor compared to other state-of-the-art static DPD methods. The evaluation of the proposed DPD is done via simulations in MATLAB and on- chip measurements with a 14-bit CS-DAC in 16 nm. This paper deals with nonlinear control of a single-phase half-bridge interleaved buck shunt active power filter (HBIB-SAPF) with a nonlinear load. The control objective for the system is twofold: performing power factor correction by compensating for harmonics and reactive current consumed by the nonlinear load from one hand and tightly regulating the HBIB converter DC capacitor voltage. Both objectives are accomplished using a two-loop nonlinear controller. The inner loop acts on the switching devices so that the active filter current tracks its reference with the aim of ensuring a unity power factor. This loop is tackled using backstepping technique and Lyapunov approach. The outer loop is responsible for regulating the DC capacitor voltage to its desired value, using a PI controller with a pre-filter. The stability analysis of the closed-loop system is formally performed by using the averaging theory. This paper presents a novel control technique for a wide output voltage range digitally controlled SIDO boost converter. It employs minimum phase conditions reported in refid="ref1"/ , refid="ref2"/ and extends the same to SIDO boost converter to eliminate the effect of RHP zero. Further, the proposed work employs input-output linearization technique refid="ref3"/, refid="ref4"/ to linearize the control-to-output transfer function across different operating points to achieve improved stability under unbalanced loads and a wide output voltage range on each output of the proposed SIDO boost power converter. The SIDO boost regulator was verified experimentally for an input voltage of 3.3 V and a maximum simultaneous load current of 350 mA on each output. Measurement results demonstrate that the proposed design achieves a wide output voltage range of 4.8 V–13.75 V, with ability to dynamically transition across these different output voltages in both small and big voltage steps. This article proposes a broadband high-efficiency parallel-circuit (PC) class-EF power amplifier (PA) along with a quarter-wavelength stub for the first time. By adding a reactive element ${X}$ , the design space is expanded so that the impedance terminations of the fundamental and harmonics are no longer fixed points. Based on the broadband capability of the proposed structure, using a GaN HEMT transistor, a proof-of-concept circuit implemented with the Chebyshev impedance transformation network is designed and fabricated. Experimental results demonstrate a high-efficiency broadband PA operating from 2.6-3.9 GHz, with the average efficiency of 71.5%, the measured output power (${P}_{\textit {out}}$) of 38.8-40.9 dBm and the power gain of 8.5-10.6 dB. We present a compact, continuous, and numerically stable version of a tantalum oxide (TaOx) memristor model which can be employed for robust and reliable simulations of large scale memristor based circuits. The original model contains a piecewise differentiable function in the memductance expression and discontinuous step functions in the state equation. Additionally, the original model does not set a proper upper bound for the state variable and may admit blowing up solutions due to an exponential power term, preventing the use of it for numerically reliable simulations. Considering these drawbacks, we modify the original model so as to i) simplify the memductance function while removing its piecewise differentiable nonlinearity, ii) include a proper window function for the ON state dynamics, which is missing in the original model, iii) modify and bound the exponential power term to prevent an uncontrollable blow-up of the solutions, and iv) apply a process called unification, allowing us to remove the step functions inherent in the model, which is a novelty in state-limited memristor models. We validate the accuracy of the proposed model via DC and transient simulations, dynamic route map analysis and a Spice implementation of an anti-series configuration, showing the applicability of the model. Accurate modeling of magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) is critical for design of memories such as spin-transfer-torque magnetoresistive random access memory (STT-MRAM) and spin logic circuits such as spin flip flops. This paper reviews several static and dynamic models for the MTJ and compares them for their capabilities and limitations. Furthermore, a Verilog-A model is developed to predict dynamic characteristics of the MTJ. These models are used in simulating a prototype circuit to illustrate their strengths and weaknesses. Memristive technology has experienced explosive growth in the last decade, with multiple device structures being developed for a wide range of applications. However, transitioning the technology from the lab into the marketplace requires the development of an accessible and user-friendly design flow, supported by an industry-grade toolchain. In this work, we demonstrate the behaviour of our in-house fabricated custom memristor model and its integration into the Cadence Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools for verification. Various input stimuli were given to record the memristive device characteristics both at the device level as well as the schematic level for verification of the memristor model. This design flow from device to industrial level EDA tools is the first step before the model can be used and integrated with Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) in applications for hybrid memristor/CMOS system design. Dynamic average-value models (AVMs) for AC-DC rectifier circuits are generally formulated in state-space form and hence are straightforward to implement in state-variable-based simulation languages. In the nodal analysis-based approach used in electromagnetic transient (EMTP-type) simulation packages, the development of AVMs requires additional effort to reformulate and interface the models with the external ac and dc networks. This paper proposes a new averaged-circuit model for three-phase line-commutated rectifiers which is directly interfaced with the ac and dc networks, thereby achieving a simultaneous solution of the respective variables in EMTP-type solution. The proposed model is verified against conventionally interfaced model, as well as detailed switching model of the original rectifier circuit. This study proposes an autonomous distributed control method for single link failure based on loops in a network. This method focuses on the concept of tie-sets defined by graph theory in order to divide a network into a string of logical loops. A tie-set denotes a set of links that constitutes a loop. Based on theoretical rationale of graph theory, a string of tie-sets that cover all the nodes and links can be created by using a tree, even in an intricately-intertwined mesh network. If tie-sets are used as local management units, high-speed and stable fail-over can be realized by taking full advantage of ring-based restoration. This paper first introduces the notion of tie-sets, and then describes the distributed algorithms for link failure. Experiments are conducted against Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), which is generally used for fault recovery in mesh topological networks. Experimental results comparing the proposed method with RSTP suggest that our method alleviates the adverse effects of link failure with a modest increase in state information of a node. This paper presents a new Class-E power amplifier (PA) with a \pi-matching output network. The PA is targeted at low output power wireless applications. Analytical formulae are derived to aid the PA design, characterization and optimization. A fully integrated 2.4-GHz PA for short distance communications has been implemented in 0.13 \mu\ m CMOS technology to verify the proposed design method. Models of inverters and other converters based on averaging have been widely used in numerous simulation applications. Generalized averaging can be applied to model both average and switching behavior of converters while retaining the faster run times associated with average-value models. Herein, generalized average models for single- and three-phase pulse width modulation inverters are proposed. These models are based on a quasi-Fourier series representation of the switching functions that includes fundamental and switching frequency components as well as sideband components of the switching frequency. The proposed models are demonstrated both in simulation and experimentally and are found to accurately portray both the fundamental and the switching behavior of the inverter. In particular, the use of sideband components allows accurate representation of the variation in switching ripple magnitude that occurs in the steady state. The generalized average models are found to have simulation run times that are significantly faster than those associated with detailed models. Therefore, the proposed generalized average models are suitable for simulation applications in which both accuracy (including the switching behavior) and fast run times are required (e.g., long simulation times, systems with multiple converters, and repeated simulations). A new switching circuit analysis technique is proposed in which the reverse recovery and junction capacitance non-idealities of diode-based switches are incorporated into a state plane analysis of the circuit. Accurate state plane modeling of the reverse recovery process is based on the development of new generalizations of the classic charge control model. Using as an example a zero-voltage switching dc transformer possessing high sensitivity to diode characteristics, these generalizations are shown to be necessary to achieve accurate results across all operating modes.
