This paper proposes on-driving experience sharing algorithms at junctions in infrastructure-assisted vehicles-to-everything networks. For the purpose, a millimeter-wave (mmWave) technology is used because it provides multi-Gbps data rates which is helpful for handling users’ short stay times at junctions and spatial reuse due to high beam directionality which is helpful for interference-avoidance among densely deployed vehicles at junctions. To realize on-driving experience sharing, the proposed algorithms focus on joint resource allocation and scheduling for 3GPP-compliant multiple unicast vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications where the vehicles are group leaders (GLs) in 3GPP Mode 4(d). The resource allocation stands for the roadside unit (RSU) allocation to scheduled V2V GL links where RSU is essentially required for overcoming blockage by establishing two-hop relaying. Because vehicles stay for short times at junctions, this paper designs two algorithms without or with delay considerations. Without delay considerations, the joint optimization of RSU allocation and scheduling was originally formulated as mixed 0-1 non-convex optimization. However our proposed algorithm reformulates the problem into mixed 0-1 convex optimization, which is computationally easier to solve. With delay considerations, our proposed algorithm dynamically controls video contents frame rates for time-average on-driving video sharing quality maximization subject to delay constraints, inspired by Lyapunov optimization. Extensive simulation results demonstrate that our algorithms can significantly outperform in a variety of scenarios. This paper considers optimal joint time, frequency, and power allocation for energy-efficient device-to-device (D2D) communications in an overlay cellular network, where multiple D2D transmitters communicate with their corresponding D2D receivers while utilizing the energy harvested from a cellular base station (BS). Due to channel estimation error and feedback delays, the channel state information (CSI) available at the transmitters is usually imperfect, which can significantly deteriorate the energy efficiency (EE) of the considered system. To mitigate the impact of imperfect CSI, we formulate a non-convex robust optimization problem for the maximization of the EE (in bits/Joule) of the system while ensuring quality of service (QoS) requirements on the minimum data rata and the minimum amount of harvested energy for cellular and D2D users, respectively. We reveal that the optimal energy-efficient D2D transmission should exhaust all the harvested energy of each D2D transmitter. Exploiting this fact, we propose an efficient iterative algorithm for obtaining the optimal solution. To strike a balance between performance and computational complexity, we further propose a low-complexity suboptimal algorithm. Simulation results show that compared with several baseline schemes, both the proposed optimal and suboptimal algorithms can significantly improve the EE of wireless-powered D2D communications under imperfect CSI. The combination of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) is an efficient solution to significantly enhance the energy efficiency of the wireless communication system. In this paper, a downlink multi-cluster NOMA network is considered, where each cluster is supported by one IRS. This paper aims to minimize the transmit power by jointly optimizing the beamforming, the power allocation and the phase shift of each IRS. The formulated problem is non-convex and challenging to be solved due to the coupled variables, i.e., the beamforming vector, the power allocation coefficient and the phase shift matrix. To address this non-convex problem, an alternating optimization based algorithm is proposed. Specifically, the primal problem is divided into two subproblems for beamforming optimization and phase shifting feasiblity, where the two subproblems are solved iteratively. Moreover, to guarantee the feasibility of the beamforming optimization problem, an iterative algorithm is proposed to search the feasible initial points. To reduce the complexity, a simplified algorithm based on partial exhaustive search for this system model is also proposed. Multicarrier low-density-spreading multiple access (MC-LDSMA) is a promising multiple access technique that enables near-optimal multiuser detection. In MC-LDSMA, each user's symbol is spread over a small set of subcarriers, and each subcarrier is shared by multiple users. The unique structure of MC-LDSMA makes the radio resource allocation more challenging compared with some well-known multiple access techniques. In this paper, we study the radio resource allocation for a single-cell MC-LDSMA system. First, we consider the single-user case and derive the optimal power allocation and subcarriers partitioning schemes. Then, by capitalizing on the optimal power allocation of the Gaussian multiple-access channel, we provide an optimal solution for MC-LDSMA that maximizes the users' weighted sum rate under relaxed constraints. Due to the prohibitive complexity of the optimal solution, suboptimal algorithms are proposed based on the guidelines inferred by the optimal solution. The performance of the proposed algorithms and the effect of subcarrier loading and spreading are evaluated through Monte Carlo simulations. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithms significantly outperform conventional static resource allocation, and MC-LDSMA can improve the system performance in terms of spectral efficiency and fairness in comparison with orthogonal frequency-division multiple access. To efficiently trade off system sum rate and link fairness, power allocation in wireless spectrum-sharing networks often concentrates upon proportional fairness. The corresponding problem has been proved to be convex for a single tone but NP-hard for more than two tones. However, in the two-tone case, the complexity of the problem for achieving proportional fairness has not been addressed yet. In this paper, we prove that the issue of proportional-fairness optimization for the two-tone situation is NP-hard by reducing the problem of finding the maximum independent set in an undirected graph to it. This paper studies a novel design of user pairing and resource allocation in a simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT)-enabled cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system with coexisting power-splitting (PS) and time-switching (TS) users. In this system, near NOMA users (NUs) that are close to a source can assist the communications between the source and far NOMA users (FUs) using the energy harvested by either PS or TS strategy. The design aims to maximize the sum-rate of the system by optimizing user pairing and power allocation between NUs and FUs as well as performing PS and TS control at NUs, while guaranteeing the target data rates and the minimum harvested energy requirements of users. Since the joint design is formulated as a non-convex mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP) problem that is challenging to tackle, we propose a two-step user pairing and resource allocation algorithm. Specifically, we decouple the original problem into an inner resource allocation problem and an outer user pairing problem. For the inner problem, we propose successive convex approximation (SCA) and block coordinate descent (BCD)-based algorithms to perform power allocation as well as PS and TS control iteratively, with the algorithms’ convergence being theoretically proved. By exploiting the characteristics of the outer problem of user pairing, this problem is well tackled by the Hungarian algorithm. Cooperative Vehicle-Infrastructure System (CVIS) can provide innovative services for traffic management and enable trips to be safer, more coordinated, and smarter. In the CVIS, the vehicles upload crowd sensing data to the Vehicular Edge Computing (VEC) server for quick data fusion and informed decision-making. However, with the ever-increasing number of vehicles, the VEC server cannot undertake massive computation-intensive tasks due to the limited edge computing capabilities. In this paper, we propose a reverse offloading framework that can fully utilize the vehicular computation resource to relieve the burden of the VEC server and further reduce the system latency. Under the proposed offloading framework, the binary reverse offloading (BRO) and partial reverse offloading (PRO) strategies are designed for two types of tasks, i.e., non-partitioned tasks and partitioned tasks. We formulate the system latency minimization problem by optimizing reverse offloading decisions, and the communication and computation resources allocation. Due to the non-convex and existing variables coupling, the original problem is transformed into the equivalent weighted-sum optimization problem. Based on the alternative optimization, we decouple the weighted-sum optimization problems into the two subproblems, and the closed-form expressions of transmission power and computation frequency of vehicles and RSU are derived. Low complexity greedy based efficient searching (GES) algorithm and joint alternative optimization based bi-section searching (JAOBSS) algorithm are proposed for BRO and PRO strategies, respectively. The algorithm complexity and performance bounds are analyzed. Simulation results show that the proposed GES algorithm can achieve optimal performance with low complexity. How to stimulate the devices to participate is a key problem in the device-to-device (D2D) communications, especially when there are multiple base stations in practice. On one hand, the base station needs to lower the price to compete with other base stations for attracting more devices. On the other hand, the base station needs to increase the price to obtain more benefit. In this paper, we propose an optimal multiprincipal multiagent contract design to tackle such a challenge. Specifically, we formulate the multiprincipal contract design problem as a game theoretic optimization problem, where the objective of each principle (base station) through contract design is to maximize its overall utility obtaining from the trade with agents (devices) subject to the individual rationality and incentive compatibility constraints. By solving the game theoretic optimization problems, we can obtain the equilibrium contract where the contracts of different principals reach an equilibrium and any deviation from a single principal will lead to the degradation of its own utility. Moreover, under the equilibrium, both the individual rationality and incentive compatibility constraints are satisfied, i.e., all agents will choose the corresponding contract according to their types to reach the optimal nonnegative utilities. Simulation results show that compared with the monoprincipal contract design, both the utilities of devices and the social welfare can be improved with the multiprincipal contract design. Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is a promising scheme for the fifth generation (5G) of mobile communication systems. In this scheme, transmission to multiple users is performed on the same subchannel using superposition coding and successive interference cancellation. In this paper, we focus on a multi-cell network with two users’ data traffic models, namely elastic and streaming. We exploit the NOMA scheme in order to maximize the download elastic traffic rate at cells, without degrading the download streaming traffic rates. Since elastic traffic rates at different cells are interactive, we maximize the total elastic traffic rates assuming either perfect or partial channel state information available at each base station subject to a target rate for streaming users. Because of the interference due to NOMA as well as the interference among different cells, subchannel assignment and power allocation affect the system performance significantly. For this reason, we propose an iterative algorithm to jointly solve the subchannel assignment and the power allocation problem via the Hungarian algorithm and successive convex approximation, respectively. It is a promising solution for real-time multitarget tracking to implement particle cardinality balanced multitarget multi-Bernoulli (CBMeMBer) filters in hardware platforms. However, this solution is difficult to materialize since there is a contradiction between the time-varying number of Bernoulli intensity components in CBMeMBer filters and the limited number of particles in hardware platforms. Moreover, real-time hardware implementation requires a resampling procedure that is suitable for parallel processing, while the existing parallel resampling algorithms oversimplify this procedure, resulting in estimation performance degradation. In this paper, we propose an optimization algorithm of particle allocation to overcome the above-mentioned contradiction, and a parallel resampling algorithm to improve the estimation performance. Modern vehicular applications are resource-intensive and have different Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. In this direction, Vehicular Cloud Computing (VCC) has emerged as a new paradigm to host such applications in the cloud. In this paper, we extend the VCC paradigm to include federation, wherein the data centers from multiple cloud providers are pooled in to support applications that can not be supported in a single provider. We address the problem of dynamic resource allocation in a federated vehicular cloud. We propose a dynamic resource pricing model for sharing resources between the cloud providers, based on which we formulate resource allocation as an optimization problem. The objective is to minimize the cost of the vehicular service provider while meeting the delay bounds of different vehicular applications, for which a cost and delay-aware, polynomial-time algorithm is proposed. We evaluate the proposed algorithm under different scenarios to show that exploiting federation brings great benefits for the service providers and end-users alike. The proposed algorithm is seen to meet the delay requirements with a significant cost reduction to the provider up to 50% compared to baseline methods. This paper aims at solving two classes of energy efficiency (EE) maximization problems in multiple channels wireless communication systems. First, the EE maximization problem with sum power constraint is solved based on the geometric water-filling approach; and second, the approach is extended into the EE maximization problem with additional least throughput requirement constraint. Our proposed algorithms make use of the water-filling structure of the optimal solution and provide exact and computation efficient solution to the energy-efficient power allocation problems. The proposed algorithms also have excellent scalability, which is applicable for large-scale wireless communication systems. Optimality of the proposed algorithms is strictly proved, and the proposed algorithms only require low-degree polynomial computational complexity. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed algorithms. In this paper, we study the handover (HO), and power allocation problem in a two-tier heterogeneous network (HetNet), which consists of a macro base station, and some millimeter-wave (mmWave) small base stations. We establish an HO management, and power allocation scheme to maximize the overall throughput while reducing the HO frequency. In particular, considering the interrelationship among decisions made by different user equipments (UEs), we first model the HO, and power allocation problem as a fully cooperative multi-agent task, in which all agents, i.e., UEs, have the same target. Then, to solve the multi-agent task, and get decentralized policies for each UE, we develop a multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) algorithm based on the proximal policy optimization (PPO) method, by introducing the centralized training with decentralized execution framework. That is, we use global information to train policies for each UE, and after the training is finished, each UE obtains a decentralized policy, which can be implemented only based on each UE's local observation. Specially, we introduce the counterfactual baseline to address the credit assignment problem in centralized learning. Due to the centralized training, the decentralized polices learned by multi-agent PPO (MAPPO) can work more cooperatively. In this paper, weighted sum energy efficiency (WSEE) in uplink and downlink of a multi-user non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system is considered. we adopt a more realistic power consumption model where signal processing power is modeled as a linear function of transmit power. Rather than the well-known network-centric global energy efficiency (GEE) metric, which is a pseudo-concave (PC) function, the weighted sum energy efficiency metric is considered, which is not PC in general. To find the optimum user power allocation Dinkelbach-like algorithm is adopted, by which each individual fractional EE function is converted to a parametric function where under some conditions on the weights falls into a class of convex optimization problems and it is solved in the dual domain. The dual variables are updated using a sub-gradient and cutting plane-based algorithm, which here ellipsoid method is used. Since the optimum solution restricts user weights, a low complexity suboptimum algorithm that does not consider any condition on user's weights is proposed. The problem is non-convex in general; hence, epigraph form followed by successive convex approximation (SCA) is used to deal with that problem. Device-to-device (D2D) communications are becoming a promising technology to support ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC). This paper incorporates contention-based access scheme into radio resource management (RRM), which can not only deal with the sporadic packet arrivals for URLLC-oriented D2D communications, but also avoid wasting time on sending requests and waiting for feedback. However, it cannot be ignored that the collisions may occur to yield transmission failure, especially when two or more users access the same resource block (RB). Thus, we should pay more attention to optimizing users’ RB selection to foster strengths and offset weaknesses of introducing contention-based access scheme, and thereby improve the transmission reliability within the latency budget. Specifically, we formulate the contention-based RRM as an optimization problem which aims to maximize the sum successful transmission probability (STP) of all D2D pairs under the strict latency constraint. Due to its intractability, this optimization problem is transformed into a mixed strategy non-cooperative game, which is proved to be an exact potential game with the sum STP as its potential function. Accordingly, the existence of pure strategy Nash equilibrium (NE) can be guaranteed, and importantly, the optimal integral solution to the optimization problem constitutes a pure strategy NE of the game. Moreover, we propose a distributed RB selection algorithm based on sequential spatial adaptive play (S-SAP), which can converge to the optimal pure strategy NE of the proposed game. In order to help user terminal devices (UTDs) efficiently handle computation-intensive and time-delay sensitive computing task, multi-access edge computing (MEC) has been proposed. However, due to the differences among the performance of UTDs, and the resource limitation of MEC servers, the joint optimization between the offloading decisions of UTDs and the allocation of resources in network is still a focus of the research. This paper studies the joint computation offloading and resource allocation strategy in multi-user and multi-server scenarios. Firstly, we formulate the joint optimization problem of computation offloading and resource allocation as a mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINP) problem to minimize the energy consumption of UTDs, by constraining the offloading decision, channel selection, power allocation and resource allocation. Secondly, we propose a two-stage heuristic optimization algorithm based on genetic algorithms, which divides the joint optimization problem of computation offloading and resource allocation in two stages. Based on the coupling relationship between the offloading decision and the resource allocation scheme, we iteratively update the solution of the problem, and finally obtain the stable convergence solution of the optimization problem. In this paper, we study an UAV base station (UBS) assisted cellular network that consists of a single ground macro base station (MBS), multiple UBSs, and multiple ground terminals. We assume that the MBS transmits to the UBSs and the terminals in the licensed band while the UBSs use a separate unlicensed band (e.g., Wi-Fi) to transmit to the terminals. For the utilization of the UBSs, we propose a cooperative decode–forward (DF) protocol in which multiple UBSs assist the terminals simultaneously while maintaining a predetermined interference level on the coexisting unlicensed band users. For our network setup, we formulate a joint optimization problem for minimizing the aggregate gap between the target rates and the throughputs of terminals by optimizing over the 3D positions of the UBSs and the resources (power, time, bandwidth) of the network. To solve the optimization problem, we propose an efficient nested structured algorithm based on particle swarm optimization and convex optimization methods. In this paper, we study energy-efficient power allocation in distributed antenna systems (DASs). Unlike previous works that assumed perfect channel-state information (CSI) at the transmitter, we investigate a more practical case, where only the slowly varying large-scale CSI is known, to reduce the system overhead for CSI acquisition. Under a generalized DAS model, the power allocation problem for energy-efficiency (EE) maximization is formulated as a nonconvex fractional programming problem. Using the random matrix theory, the nonlinear fractional programming theory, and the saddle-point theory, we propose an iterative algorithm that achieves the global optimal solution. We also show that deploying the antennas in a distributed manner may enlarge the region where the optimal EE and the optimal spectral efficiency (SE) can be simultaneously achieved. Direct device-to-device (D2D) links are proposed as a possible enabler for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications, where the incurred intracell interference and the stringent latency and reliability requirements are challenging issues. In this paper, we investigate the radio resource management problem for D2D-based V2V communication. First, we analyze and transform the latency and reliability requirements of V2V communication into optimization constraints that are computable using only the slowly varying channel information. This transformation opens up the possibility of extending certain existing D2D techniques to cater to V2V communication. Second, we propose a problem formulation that fulfills the different requirements of V2V communication and traditional cellular communication. Multistream carrier aggregation (MSCA) is a promising technique to boost data rates by enabling users to connect with multiple base stations (BSs) simultaneously. In this paper, we investigate joint user association and resource allocation for MSCA systems to achieve energy efficiency (EE) balance among different BSs. We aim at maximizing the weighted summation of EE values for different BSs, which is modeled as a nonconvex combinatorial sum-of-ratios optimization problem. To develop an upper bound algorithm, we first relax the combinatorial variables and then transform the problem into a series of convex optimization problems by the successive convex approximation (SCA) method. We also propose a low-complexity suboptimal algorithm, which divides the original optimization problem into two steps: user association and channel allocation, as well as power allocation. This paper addresses the formulation of power allocation for cluster based multihop vehicular relaying communications in order to improve the network quality-of-services (QoS). The cluster-to-cluster (C2C) channel is completely depend on the power gain of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) channel that increases the difficulties of the power allocation problem. To meet this goal, we have derived a global channel obtained by joint V2V and C2C cooperation. The most challenging aspect is however the joint V2V and C2C power allocation of the global channel due to the association of its multi-variables objective function. To solve this problem, we apply an alternative optimization technique to make the global problem into a series of sub-problems. We then apply a semi-definite programming (SDP)-based iterative gradient descent (SDP-IGD) power allocation to assign power in each relay. The SDP-IGD power allocation algorithm has been extended from Lagrange Multiplier (LM) that provides better performance than separate LM technique. The minimum mean-square error (MMSE)-decision feedback equalizer (MMSE-DFE) is designed at the receiver to improve the signal detection capability under exact channel state information (CSI) in all forward-and-backward links. The application of network slicing to mobile edge computing (MEC) systems has aroused great interests from both academia and industry. However, the optimization of network slicing and MEC in most existing research works only focuses on resource slicing, energy scheduling, and power allocation from the perspective of mobile devices, without considering the operator's revenue. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for network slicing in MEC systems, including slice request admission and a revenue model, to investigate the operator's revenue escalation problem while considering traffic variations. The revenue model is mainly composed of the longer-term revenue and short-term revenue. Particularly, we jointly optimize slice request admission in the long-term and resource allocation in the short-term to maximize the operator's average revenue. By employing the Lyapunov optimization technique, we develop an algorithm without requiring any prior-knowledge of traffic distributions, referred to as the DNSRA, to solve the problem. To reduce the computational complexity of directly solving the DNSRA, we decouple the optimization variables for efficient algorithm design. By this, the strategies for user association and CPU-cycle frequency are obtained in closed forms, respectively. Power allocation and subcarriers assignment are obtained by employing the successive convex approximation approach. Meanwhile, we develop a heuristic algorithm to obtain the dynamic slice request admission decision. Simulation results show that the proposed DNSRA can strike a flexible balance between the average revenue and the average delay, and can significantly increase the operator's revenue against existing schemes. Network slicing has been considered as a promising candidate to provide customized services for vehicular applications that have extremely high requirements of latency and reliability. However, the high mobility of vehicles poses significant challenges to resource management in such a stochastic vehicular environment with time-varying service demands. In this paper, we develop an online network slicing scheduling strategy for joint resource block (RB) allocation and power control in vehicular networks. The long-term time-averaged total system capacity is maximized while guaranteeing strict ultra-reliable and low-latency requirements of vehicle communication links, subject to stability constraints of task queues. The formulated problem is a mixed integer nonlinear stochastic optimization problem, which is decoupled into three subproblems by leveraging Lyapunov optimization. In order to tackle this problem, we propose an online algorithm, namely JRPSV, to obtain the optimal RB allocation and power control at each time slot according to the current network state. Furthermore, rigorous theoretical analysis is conducted for the proposed JRPSV algorithm, indicating that the system capacity and the system average latency obey a $[ {{\mathcal O}({1/V}),{\mathcal O}(V)} ]$ trade-off with the control parameter $V$. The deployment of cloud and edge computing forms a three-tier mobile computing network, where each task can be processed locally, by the edge nodes, or by the remote cloud server. In this paper, we consider a cooperative three-tier computing network by leveraging the vertical cooperation among devices, edge nodes and cloud servers, as well as the horizontal cooperation between edge nodes. In this network, we jointly optimize the offloading decision and the computation resource allocation to minimize the average task duration subject to the limited battery capacity of devices. However, the formulated problem is a large-scale mixed integer non-linear optimization problem with the growing number of base stations and devices, which is NP-hard in general. To develop an efficient offloading scheme with low complexity, we conduct a series of reformulation based on reformulation linearization technology and further propose a parallel optimization framework by utilizing alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) method and difference of convex functions (D.C.) programming. The proposed scheme decomposes the large-scale problem into some smaller subproblems, which are done across the multiple computation units in a parallel fashion to speed up the computation process. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can obtain a near-optimal performance with low complexity, and can reduce up to 24% of the task duration compared with other schemes. Energy efficiency (EE) and spectrum efficiency (SE) have received significant attentions on optimizing the network performance in cognitive radio networks. In this paper, an EE+SE tradeoff based target is considered for the primary users (PUs) and the secondary users (SUs). First of all, considering the orthogonal frequency division multiple access-based resource allocation (RA) for the underlying SUs, we formulate an objective function through minimizing a weighted sum of the secondary interference power, where the network performance of both PUs and SUs are guaranteed by the constraints on quality of service, power consumption and data rate. However, it is a NP-hard problem. In order to solve it, we propose a damped three dimensional (D3D) message-passing algorithm (MPA) based on deep learning. Specifically, a feed-forward neural network is devised and an analogous back propagation algorithm is developed to learn the optimal parameters of the D3D-MPA. To improve the computational efficiency of the allocation and the learning, a suboptimal RA scheme is deduced based on a damped two dimensional MPA. In this paper, we consider the problem of power control for sum-rate maximization on multiple interfering links [transmitter–receiver pairs (Tx–RX)] under a sum power constraint. We consider a single-frequency network, where all pairs are operating in the same frequency band, thereby creating interference with each other. We study the power-allocation problem for sum-rate maximization with and without quality-of-service (QoS) requirements on individual links. When the objective is only sum-rate maximization without QoS guarantees, we develop an analytic solution to decide optimal power allocation for a two-TX–RX-pair problem. We also develop a low-complexity iterative algorithm for a three-TX–RX-pair problem. For a generic N>\3 TX–RX pair problem, we develop two low-complexity suboptimal power-allocation algorithms. The first algorithm is based on the idea of making clusters of two or three TX–RX pairs and then leveraging the power-allocation results obtained for the two- and three-TX–RX-pair problems. The second algorithm is developed by using a high signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) approximation, and this algorithm can be also implemented in a distributed manner by individual TXs. We then consider the same problem but with additional QoS guarantees for individual links. This paper considers a heavy loaded full-duplex (FD) small cell consisting of one FD base station and multiple half-duplex users where the number of subchannels is less than the number of uplink and downlink users. With the objective of maximizing the total sum-rate, a joint power allocation, and user pairing problem is formulated. To solve this problem, a novel decomposition method is proposed, which decouples the power allocation and user pairing problem into two subproblems. It is proven that the optimal solution of subproblems is the optimal solution of the original problem. Then, optimal algorithms are developed for the two subproblems. Traffic offloading via device-to-device communications is expected to play a major role to meet the exponential data traffic growth in wireless networks. In this paper, we focus on the problem of user capacity maximization in ultra-dense heterogeneous networks with device-to-device cooperation, where a large number of users in a given geographical area request common data content, such as video on demand streaming, with strict quality of service guarantees. We aim at finding the best strategy for delivering the content either over long range connectivity from the access points or short range connectivity from peer mobile terminals while meeting a target rate per served user. We formulate the multiuser resource management problem as an optimization problem including traffic offloading and channel allocation considering a very high user density reaching up to 1.75 users per square meter. We extend the system model to include mobile terminals acting as content owners by having the content cached locally, in order to further enhance the network capacity and coverage. We then propose an iterative resource management solution, which first solves the optimization subproblem of traffic offloading with orthogonal channels, and then optimally allocates channels to the transmitters with minimized interference due to channel reuse. We also propose efficient suboptimal hierarchical tree-based algorithms that operate in real time with dynamic and fast solutions for ultra-dense networks. For performance evaluation, we consider a realistic scenario consisting of a stadium topology with thousands of mobile terminals active simultaneously. We generate results as a function of a wide range of system parameters, and demonstrate that the proposed algorithms achieve near-optimal performance with notably low time complexity. In this paper, we investigate joint power allocation and relay beamforming design problem for a nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) amplify-and-forward (AF) relay network, which employs successive interference cancellation to decode signals. Our objective is to maximize the achievable rate of the destination, which has the best channel condition subject to achievable rate constraints at other destinations and individual transmit power constraints. We propose an alternating optimization-based algorithm where, given power allocation, we transform the problem into a second-order cone programming and, given relay beamforming, we transform the problem into a convex linear-fractional programming. When the number of destinations is two, we propose a semidefinite programming-based one-dimensional search algorithm which achieves the globally optimal solution. We investigate the resource-allocation problem in multicell networks targeting the max-min throughput of all cells. A joint optimization over power control, channel allocation, and user association is considered, and the problem is then formulated as a nonconvex mixed-integer nonlinear problem (MINLP). To solve this problem, we proposed an alternating-optimization-based algorithm, which applies branch-and-bound and simulated annealing in solving subproblems at each optimization step. We also demonstrate the convergence and efficiency of the proposed algorithms by thorough numerical experiments. Caching and transcoding at multi-access edge computing (MEC) server and wireless resource allocation in eNodeB interact with each other and together determine the quality of experience (QoE) of dynamic adaptive streaming over HTTP (DASH) clients. However, the relationship among the three factors has not been explored, which has led to limited improvement in clients’ QoE. Therefore, we propose a joint optimization framework of video segment caching and transcoding in MEC servers and resource allocation to improve the QoE of DASH clients. Based on the established framework, we develop an MEC caching management mechanism that consists of the MEC caching partition, video segment deletion, and MEC caching space transfer. Then, a joint optimization algorithm that combines the video segment caching and transcoding in the MEC server and resource allocation is proposed. In the algorithm, the clients’ channel state and the playback status and cooperation among MEC servers are employed to estimate the client's priority, video segment representation switch and continuous playback time. Considering the above four factors, we develop a utility function model of clients’ QoE. Then, we formulate a mixed-integer nonlinear programming mathematical model to maximize the total utility of DASH clients, where the video segment caching and transcoding strategy and resource allocation strategy are jointly optimized. To solve this problem, we propose a low-complexity heuristic algorithm that decomposes the original problem into multiple subproblems. The simulation results show that our proposed algorithms efficiently improve client's throughput, received video quality and hit ratio of video segments while decreasing the playback rebuffering time, video segment representation switch and system backhaul traffic. Rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA) and reinforcement-learning (RL) based user clustering are leveraged to manage interference of a downlink fog radio access network. In particular, clustering of the user devices (UDs) is considered. The UDs of a given cluster can receive data from a certain fog access point (F-AP) over the same radio resource blocks (RRBs) simultaneously. To this end, RSMA enabled data transmission is exploited at each UD cluster. To manage intra-cluster and inter-cluster interference of the network, we focus on the resource allocation to maximize the sum-rate and to minimize total transmission power of the F-APs in each transmission slot. Towards this goal, we optimize jointly the F-APs’ transmit power allocation for RSMA enabled data transmission, clustering of UDs, and assignment of RRBs among the F-APs. The proposed optimization problem is NP-hard, and as a result, a global optimal solution is computationally intractable even with the centralized implementation. To obtain an efficient solution without having the global network information, the proposed optimization problem is decomposed into two sub-problems, namely, UD clustering and resource allocation among the F-APs. Specifically, the UD clusters are obtained by applying a multi-agent RL technique, and the resource allocation among the F-APs is obtained by applying the fractional programming, Lagrangian duality, and alternating optimization techniques. A distributed user clustering-power allocation-RRB assignment (UC-PA-RA) algorithm is proposed, and its convergence to the near-optimal solution is proved. To enhance the backscatter-links with double fading effect in non-orthogonal multiple access assisted backscatter communication (NOMABC), a new reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) enhanced NOMABC (RIS-NOMABC) system is proposed. A joint optimization problem over power reflection coefficients at the backscatter devices (BDs) and phase shifts at the RIS is formulated. To solve this non-convex problem, a low complexity algorithm is proposed by invoking the alternative optimization, successive convex approximation and manifold optimization algorithms. The high-speed railway wireless communication network architecture is gradually transforming from a traditional GSM-Railway (GSM-R) cellular network to a 5G heterogeneous ultra-dense communication network. How to effectively deal with the interference while obtaining the capacity gain has become an inevitable problem. This article proposes a power allocation interference alignment algorithm based on game equilibrium with the goal of joint optimization about throughput and energy efficiency for imperfect channels in high-speed railway communication. Firstly, the imperfect Channel State Information including delay and fading is calculated. Then, in order to improve system throughput and energy efficiency, we establish a game model and prove the existence of Nash equilibrium in the model. At the same time, a power allocation iterative algorithm based on Recurrent Neural Network is proposed. Finally, combined with the interference alignment algorithm based on a maximal signal-to-noise ratio, the optimal power matrix is calculated by iteration to achieve interference management optimization. The simulation results prove that our algorithm has superior performance in improving the system throughput, energy efficiency and transmission reliability in high-speed railway wireless communication with imperfect channels. This article investigates the cache-enabling unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) cellular networks with massive access capability supported by non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). The delivery of a large volume of multimedia contents for ground users is assisted by a mobile UAV base station, which caches some popular contents for wireless backhaul link traffic offloading. In cache-enabling UAV NOMA networks, the caching placement of content caching phase and radio resource allocation of content delivery phase are crucial for network performance. To cope with the dynamic UAV locations and content requests in practical scenarios, we formulate the long-term caching placement and resource allocation optimization problem for content delivery delay minimization as a Markov decision process (MDP). The UAV acts as an agent to take actions for caching placement and resource allocation, which includes the user scheduling of content requests and the power allocation of NOMA users. In order to tackle the MDP, we propose a Q-learning based caching placement and resource allocation algorithm, where the UAV learns and selects action with soft ε-greedy strategy to search for the optimal match between actions and states. Since the action-state table size of Q-learning grows with the number of states in the dynamic networks, we propose a function approximation based algorithm with combination of stochastic gradient descent and deep neural networks, which is suitable for large-scale networks. Finally, the numerical results show that the proposed algorithms provide considerable performance compared to benchmark algorithms, and obtain a trade-off between network performance and calculation complexity. Aided by scalable video coding, multirate multicast has become a promising technique of providing differentiated quality of experience (QoE) for massive numbers of video subscribers operating in heterogeneous channel conditions. Nevertheless, due to the time-varying nature of wireless channels and the subscribers’ diverse requirements, it is challenging to dynamically control the video rate in the light of the available radio resource to achieve the best QoE. To elaborate a little further, the time scale of resource scheduling is of short-term nature, which determines the short-term video quality variation, but from a service provider's perspective the design objective is to optimize the long-term QoE for all subscribers. Despite its importance, this problem has not been considered before. Explicitly, we formulated this problem as a time-averaged stochastic optimization problem which avoids the impact of both the short-term channel quality fluctuation and that of the video bitrates, whilst maintaining both inter- and intra- group fairness. The stratified structure of the problem inspires us to decompose it into a two-phase optimization: coarse grained assignment for each user group and fine grained assignment for each subgroup. We propose an adaptive multicast algorithm based on Lyapunov's optimization theory for solving this problem, by striking a compelling trade-off between the system's utility and its queue stability. In consideration of an orthogonal-frequency-division-multiplexing access cognitive two-way relay network with imperfect spectrum sensing, we propose a joint resource allocation algorithm to maximize the total transmission rate of secondary users (SUs) under maximum transmit power constraints and interference temperature constraints. To solve this joint optimization problem, we use the Lagrange dual decomposition method, discrete searching approach, and the Hungarian algorithm to obtain the optimal power allocation, the subcarrier pairing matrix, and the relay selection matrix. Moreover, the analyses of feasibility, sensitivity, convergence, and calculation complexity of the proposed algorithm are given. The effectiveness and validity of this algorithm with imperfect spectrum sensing are proved by the simulations of system performance and comparisons with the algorithm with perfect spectrum sensing.
