Abstract

The article presents an open uncontrolled trial of topical 5-aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy for treatment of urethral condylomata acuminata in male patients. Patients experienced mild burning/stinging sensation during irradiation, and moderate pain, with no other complications such as bleeding, infection, ulcers, scarring or stricture. The growth of genital warts in patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus is also noted.

Abstract

The article presents a study of premature sebaceous hyperplasia with satisfactory response to oral isotretinoin in a 44-year-old Chinese woman presented with a cutaneous eruption affecting the face and neck. Cutaneous examination revealed diffuse erythema with numerous soft and umbilicated skin colored papules on the face, neck, and upper thorax. Findings were consistent with a diagnosis of premature sebaceous hyperplasia, and the patient was put on a trial of oral isotretinoin.
