The article discusses findings of a study to determine the susceptibility of dogs to viral gastroenteritis using indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique. It notes that the sero epidemiological study of canine parvovirus (CPV) and canine coronavirus (CCV) was conducted for 178 diarrhoeic dogs in Kamrup, India. It confirms the 100 percent sensitivity of indirect ELISA in 92.31 percent detection of anti-CPV antibody and 89.44 percent detection of CCV antibody.

The article presents a study on the epidemiology of canine parvovirus (CPV) and canine corona virus (CCV) infections in dogs in the Kamrup district of Assam in India. The study found that CPV infections were higher in male dogs than female which according to the researchers may be due to the wandering behavior of male dogs and the selective preference of keeping males as pets. The study concludes that CPV and CCV caused viral gastroenteritis appears to be a seasonal concern in Assam.

The article discusses a study which investigated the seroprevalence of brucellosis and parvo virus infections in two organized pig herds of North-East India. Based on the Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbant Assay (ELISA), prevalence of brucella was higher followed by porcine parvovirus (PPV). Results suggest that pigs in the region has been exposed to causative agents at one time or other. The breeding boars were also found positive for Brucella abortus antibodies. They may have picked up infection from infected sows because of natural breeding practice adopted in the farms.
