Making sure that all parties fully agree on uptime performance, disaster recovery, monitoring and intrusion protection is important if one opts to share a service among partners and clients. Adam Gross, director of product marketing at Salesforce.com, has a different view. He says that a company cannot build a true SaaS application unless it invests a huge amount of money in creating a multi-tenant database that can support multiple customers on a single instance of the hardware, software and network stack.
