The article focuses on the use of video conference when conducting a virtual field trip. In 2009, report states that about 30 percent of U.S. schools have adopted video conferencing in providing virtual field trips to traditional venues like zoos and museums. According to the author, virtual field trips can be customized according to the students' interests and the educational goals they want to meet. Teachers and students alike can have the ability to travel around the world without the use of a passport through virtual field trips.
