Abstract

The results of tests of energy sources based on magnetocumulative generators, which were obtained during simulation of the effect of a lightning current pulse on a typical grounding system, are presented. A proposed numerical model of the operation of such energy sources and models of the pulsed resistance of a grounding rod satisfactorily agree with the experimental results. In the performed experiments, the amplitude of the current pulse in the grounding rod was as high as 90 kA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
